We stumbled on this cafe located right on 55 and impulsively decided to stop for an afternoon pick me up. I'm so glad we did! The vibe is welcoming and eclectic. My iced latte was perfect, and the bakery treats that we tried were very tasty. I had a peanut butter cookie - perfectly sweet and chewy. My friend had a blueberry turnover and a cappuccino. We've come here twice now on our way through town and it's become our favorite stop. Small with not a lot of seating, but always seems to be just enough. Display cases full of a large variety of beautiful pastries. Lots of breads and local goods (honey, maple syrup, knitted goods and store merch) for sale. EXCELLENT FOOD. Both times we've loved what we've gotten. You want a true, properly made croissant? Go here, you won't be disappointed. Coffee was made perfectly to order. I will say the lady at the counter isn't the most friendly, but it's not like she was rude either. Guess not everyone is bubbly and happy - it certainly wasn't bad service, just not the warmth I personally expect from a small business like that. Stellar bakery; definitely 5-stars; wish we could give more. Passing through on our fall color tour, we looking for a lunch spot and found good reviews on this bakery. It exceeded expectations in all regards. The old building is gorgeous; that ceiling!! Good seating for a smaller cafe. Very comfortable, casual and clean. Though the pastries looked amazing, we opted for lunch. My husband ordered a lamb patty melt on homemade sourdough and tomatoes bisque soup. I ordered a grilled cheese with ham and a bowl of Tuscan soup. The portions were generous, especially for the soups. They were hearty, flavorful and healthy. Lots of veggies and wonderful spices. Our sandwiches were excellent. Everything had that made-by-hand feel. Before leaving, we grabbed a day old blueberry cheese croissant which was so tasty; not too sweet, creamy and melt in our mouth soft. Yum! The staff were kind and helpful. Prices were fair. Woah we lived in the area. This bakery would be a regular stop for breakfast, lunch, sweet treats and homemade loaves of bread. What a gem in this small community. read more

We were pleased to find the 2 The Moon Bakery on our last trip up north. Very cute place. I tried the egg croissant sandwich, and loved it! My husband got the classic breakfast with the sausage. I tried a bite of the sausage, and it's some of the best I've ever had! We also tried a strawberry poptart, and a brownie. The poptart was ok, but the brownie was spectacular. Would definately get one of those again. Coffee was decent. read more

Always delicious and I really enjoy the food coming from local farms in the area. The food has amazing flavor and is consistently great. The service is also excellent! The employees are hardworking and enjoy their work. It doesn't have a ton of space inside to eat, but during the warmer months, the outdoor space is sufficient for larger groups. read more

We always stop in Lake City at 2 the Moon bakery to pick up our bread for the week as well as some treats. It did not disappoint this time we ordered a breakfast sandwich a couple muffins, cookies and a loaf of the cinnamon swirl bread it was to die for we've had it for breakfast each morning up here in the upper Peninsula at our campsite. This is a great spot to stop and get your specialty coffees, bakery goods, breads sandwiches, and even breakfast specials, the service this time was not as friendly as we've known it to be in the past they weren't very busy. There was only one of customers we just weren't quite sure if she was just having a bad day but otherwise it's clean, friendly a clean bathroom and plenty of offstreet parking all the way around. We pull a trailer so we were even able to get a spot right in front to park. I like the diversity when we visit 2 the Moon bakery as well as their peanut butter cookies they are excellent and not too sweet. My husband had the morning oatmeal cookie that had apricots, cherries, coconut and chocolate chips...he ate those in the car as we drove further north. He said they were the best he's ever had. When we look for a place to pick up our breads or baked goods, we always look for something local that is quiet, calm, and relaxing, but still produces an excellent product 2 the Moon Bakery hits it all. read more

Lovely place to stop on way to Boyne mountain. Got a couple of sandwiches mine as the lamb and was delicious. Dirty chai was epically done loved it! We sat outside in a nice enclose picnic area and enjoyed our food. Tables were self bussed and a places to put dishes and trash. Lots of baked goods and cool coffees. My grand-daughter recently stopped on a Sunday afternoon traveling from a graduation party in Gaylord. Having a craving for something sweet, we googled bakeries near us and found this bakery open. We new it would be close before early Sunday close. We made it with 2 minutes to spare. They even unwrapped several of our purchases. Everything we purchased was the best we'd ever had. The cinnamon roll melted in your mouth and frosting was so good. I purchased a loaf of cinnamon bread. I am quite old and must say, it's the best I've ever eaten. It has no icing so a few less calories. It also is sliced thin which is good. The dough is very tasty and soft. I've told my family, when driving from Gaylord to visit kids in college in Grand Rapids, plan trips to stop at this place for lunch which looked very appetizing, and definitely pick up something sweet, and me a loaf of bread. I'll drive from Detroit to "visit". To top it off, they use all local ingredients when possible and in season! The "icing on the cake" for a great road-trip with my grand-daughter. read more

Homemade pop tarts, turnovers, scones, pretty much everything you'd expect out of a bakery. Cute place that makes everything in house. Even the chai tea latte is brewed in house and no powder or syrup is used. There is indoor and outdoor dining. Staff is friendly. The chai latte iced was delicious. The cinnamon roll was day old so it was reduced 30%. It was a little dry but very flavorful. The chicken cherry sandwich was just ok. It was chicken salad with nuts, cherries and a mayo type sauce. I swapped out the croissant for sourdough bread. There is free street parking. Both my daughters have cows milk protein allergy and it's hard to find them quality treats and support small businesses at the same time. Great example of "If you build it they will come!" Excellent location on a corner in downtown Lake City, easy to get in and out, easy parking on Main St. Their baked good are absolutely device! They small but great menu has something for everyone. Pick up a carry-out and enjoy it on your boat this summer! Or at home during our cold winter Mi this. Love their food! Limited menu, but so so good. We get breakfast or lunch here at least once a week. Everything is delicious. And let's talk about the baked goods... My personal favorites are the sour dough bread and spinach & goat cheese croissant for savory. You can't beat their chocolate croissants, but that is my weakness.
