Girls' brunch on a Saturday morning -- GREAT experience and delicious food! As teachers, we absolutely love the mission of this charming cafe on the water in Cadillac. The servers were all polite, friendly and helpful. We truly enjoyed reading the bios of all of the After 26 workers --- so endearing! The three of shared our meals and they were ALL so yummy!!! We started with a flight of their homemade daily soups --- what a great idea! The tomato bisque was FABULOUS! Entrees: Avocado Toast, Monte Cristo sandwich (on waffles!!!) and The Sweet - one of their "Hoppers" -- sweet potato tots, sausage, eggs, feta cheese and hot honey. We loved ALL of it!! Thanks to Yelp, I found this gem in Cadillac right off the River! As a big brother to a "special needs" sister I was thrilled to see they are an inclusive workplace that provides opportunities. My 1st visit DID NOT DISAPPOINT. The staff was friendly and talkative, which I LOVE. (Ask my wife, I'll talk to anyone in public) The Philly Hopper was an awesome and filling meal for the price. I love horseradish cream, and to get it on a mix of steak, hash browns, fresh peppers and onions, with two eggs on top was just delicious. Give them a shot! The food and service were fantastic at this restored train depot. It is a beautiful setting across from the lake. Great views from the outdoor seating as well. I had the turkey Rachel with onion rings. Both were tasty and the onion rings were made in house, not frozen. The other person had the Marquette Melt with fries and he said it was delicious. The prices are reasonable. We arrived at 11:15 a.m. on a Sunday. By 11:45 all tables were full and a line was forming. It is very popular and it should be. read more

Met my mom and dad here for my mothers birthday celebration breakfast. The food was delicious. The service was incredible with several friendly faces covering all the bases. The decor is incredible, still resembles the inside of an old depot. This is a midway point between my parents and myself, and will be revisited. Downside is that it closes at 2 PM, the upside is birthday patrons get their age percentage off their bill. Wonderful that they do that. read more

Fast friendly service, very nice atmosphere. I went out of my normal breakfast "box" and ordered something sweet, the Monte Christo with raspberry jam was amazing. I ate it as a sandwich and it was very good. In hindsight I should have drizzled syrup over it. Loved everything! Driving south we stopped in Cadillac to grab brunch- this spot did not disappoint. The restaurant was clean, servers friendly and helpful, and meals delicious! My kids loved the waffles and "wheel" potatoes, the eggs/hashbrown portions were huge, and the strawberry jam was what dreams were made of. Having a little baby, we sat in a back boardroom and had privacy when nursing- it was so appreciated. We highly recommend this spot- and we loved being in a neat historical building too. read more

Food- I wish there had been lattes, but I am spoiled. Regular coffee was good, as was the cup of tomato basil soup which I had ordered to go. Service- Practicing patience and being polite goes both ways, great service. Ambiance- I only ordered to go as I was driving home to TC. So, cannot really comment, but it's an old depot and there's a lake nearby, cannot hardly go wrong. Mission- The after 26 project exists to provide job opportunities and community for adults with disabilities after they age out of their fape (free access to public education) which is available until age 26. As someone who works with young adults, 18-26, with disabilities, I know there is such a need. People with disabilities can do so much, but just need understanding and support to be successful. I never heard of Cadillac until I passed the town recently on my way to Sleeping Bear Dunes from down state. It was late winter-early spring. The weather was still cold with a little bit of snow and there, but the sun sets late, making it perfect for road trips. I never knew Cadillac was such a lovely city. We were looking for lunch and stumble upon this place as it's located near the lake. It was open only until 3 and we walk in at 2. Yet thr lady welcomingly seated us. The restaurant has a charming decor and ambiance, both inside and out. It gives out family-friendly, home made feels. The menu are simple American breakfast/brunch type of menu. I'm so glad they serve breakfast all day. Ordered egg white omelette with mushroom, spinach, and tomato served with whole wheat toast, fruit cups, and strawberry / raspberry jam. It was the perfect size -- not too much, not too little. The food was delicious! The price is really affordable too. If I'm not mistaken they are cash only. Extra bonus reason to love and support this place is they provide opportunities for people with special needs to work. read more

Wonderful place to go. The staff is friendly and helpful and is a joy to be around. The food is good. I had the turkey Reuben and would get it again. Plenty of flavor and bread was outstanding. My wife had the French dip and it was also tasty. Kids had breakfast buffet and chicken fingers and everyone scarfed their food down. Prices are reasonable. All reviews I have heard all rave about the food and service. It's a rarity to have a great experience with both in today's world. The reviews are accurate! Today, I had the Mackinaw Trail Turkey Rueben topped with their homemade coleslaw! Oh my, yum!! A friend and I sat for a few hours on the patio catching up and many servers came by to refill our waters frequently. What a breath of fresh air to enjoy the ambience of the Depot with a sweet friend and have amazing food and service together! We will be back! read more
