Yousseff and Isaiah were the most courteous and polite movers I've ever dealt with. Not only were they courteous and polite they were efficient. The moving experience with two studs was mostly positive because of the movers that showed up the day of our move. These two gentlemen make two studs moving look really, really good! Our moving made up for the subpar scheduling experience: The only complaint I have is regarding scheduling and confirmation. When we called to confirm the move for the next day. Chris the owner, mistakenly thought that my girlfriend calling and texting for an appointment confirmation was one of his workers. (At least he addressed her in a way that was unacceptable) He was rude, abrupt, and crude. He asked "why we were texting at 8 PM". Three points here: 1-When receiving messages, confirm you know who the message is coming from - a customer or a employee. 2-Revise your reservation confirmation system. I hired this company to move a grandfather clock and an upright piano from a neighbor's home to mine. When I first contacted Chris, he requested full payment via Venmo/Zelle, which I completed. The day before the move, I reached out to confirm details and did not receive a response. When I called, I was told "it's all set," but there were no additional details provided. On moving day, both workers arrived on time and were polite and professional. However, they did not have the equipment typically needed for moving a piano, such as a ramp or specialized moving tools. As a result, I had to assist with lifting the piano alongside my spouse. This time I needed their help for an urgent move and though they accepted the job, they canceled it when they showed up because the tenant wasn't ready (or dressed to their tastes, oddly enough). Which is fine, cancelling because the site wasn't ready is a fine reason. What wasn't fine was the extremely unprofessional way the owner Chris M. spoke to me when pursuing a refund. Leveling ad hominem attacks, cursing at me, threatening me, refusing to refund my deposit after offering one, and then cutting off contact are too serious of issues to not put in a review. The most upsetting part of this entire experience was not even the delay itself--it was the way I was treated when I tried to address the situation. After learning that the movers would be several hours late and that my scheduled noon appointment would not be honored, I contacted Chris to discuss the issue and request a refund of the $440 I had paid in advance. What should have been a customer service conversation left me feeling bullied, disrespected, and completely disregarded. As a paying customer who had scheduled and prepaid for a service more than a week in advance, I expected professionalism, communication, and basic courtesy. Instead, I was met with excuses, indifference, and a complete unwillingness to take responsibility for the significant delay. The fact that no one contacted me before my scheduled appointment to advise me of the delay, combined with the refusal to refund my payment after the service was not provided as promised, was frustrating enough. The way I was spoken to during the process made the experience far worse. By the end of the conversation, Chris refused to refund my payment and ultimately hung up on us. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was so disappointing and unprofessional that I feel obligated to share it. my name is Malachi Campbell Chris showed a serious lack of professionalism and respect. I worked my full hours and was not paid for all of them, despite being told multiple times that payment was coming. I had to repeatedly chase my own wages, and even then, I was still shorted. What made this situation worse is that I was asked for my Social Security number and told that it was the only way I could get paid. I was not given a W-2 or W-4, and to my knowledge, no other workers were asked for their Social Security number. This raised serious concerns for me, especially since proper payroll procedures were never explained or followed. Because of the unpaid wages and the way this was handled, I am now filing a formal wage claim with the Connecticut Department of Labor. No worker should have to beg for money they already earned or feel pressured to give sensitive personal information just to get paid. We hired 2 Young Studs to help us move and pack our belongings into a POD for a cross-country move. Despite a smooth scheduling process, the actual moving process was a nightmare. Our situation resulted in damaged walls, careless handling, and insufficient packing. We would've been better off moving everything ourselves and saving the money. Before the guys left, they tried to get us to hire them through their side hustle for the rest of our stuff. It then made sense why they left so much of our stuff unloaded to try and make a second sale. We ended up hiring additional movers from a different company to completely unload and reload our POD. Turns out, it was possible to fit everything and in a much more secure fashion. It's extremely disappointing when a "high rated" service falls short of expectations, and there is a clear lack of thoroughness and professionalism within the company. I commend the men that work for this company despite the conditions. When I called, I got a quick response and quote for my moving situation, and left a deposit. I seen many reviews about unprofessional attitudes, and I didn't experience this. Day of, movers show up extremely late due to an injury of a coworker. I can understand this. The crew I got (2 men, and a rather small moving truck, with no other equipment) show up. They are not prepared or equipped for this job. It took them up until almost 9 PM (with me and my fiancés help because they kept stopping and disappearing to talk on the phone) to move two bedrooms worth of things to another apartment a block away. They damaged every furniture item I had, and I never received a follow up about this, and this was months ago. It's water under the bridge at this point. This was the absolute WORST experience I've ever had with a moving company! The agreed upon time, 12pm noon, was changed with no prior notification to 2pm and the 2 movers STILL did NOT arrive until 5:48pm. There was NO communication about this significant delay in arrival time either, I was simply left hanging the entire wait time. This caused major delays with other aspects of my move! Also, the movers did NOT arrive with any of the tools necessary to complete the job (e.g., door stoppers, moving blankets, ramps, Dolly's, etc.). The 2 very young movers looked completely exhausted, often took several breaks, and complained about how overworked they were working for this mismanaged company! In fact, I literally moved 1/3 of the items myself just to assist and speed up the process. Despite all of this, I still tipped them generously and even gave them some of my used items that I no longer wanted. To simply move only 1 bedroom worth of items (significantly less than a studio apartment), I was charged $800. The owner Chris WILL charge your credit card AGAIN (additional $360), even after the agreed upon amount is already paid (initial $440)! I was forced to report unauthorized additional charges to my bank. Also, this company will NOT waive the flat $40 fuel/travel fee for jobs more than 3 hours, despite the fact that they advertise as such directly on their website. This is my first ever Yelp review. That in it self says a lot about my moving experience with 2 Young Studs Moving llc. I fully understand that no company or person is perfect, however I had such a poor overall experience with my recent move, I felt inclined to share this to hopefully prevent what happened to me from happening to someone else. To start things off, it is almost impossible to get in touch with Chris, you'll have to call 3-4 times to hear anything back. Then once booked, I wanted to confirm my appointment on their website calendar (as instructed) and it was not present, but I digress. The movers showed up on time and were friendly so that was really great. We started at 7am and around 9am we were nearing the end of packing the truck. Then we got to the final item...my bed frame. The movers attempted to get it out of the building through each staircase but to no avail. It was eventually decided that the bed frame needed to be dissembled in order to get it out. There was one issue though: the two movers were un-equipped to dissemble the bed frame so that it could be moved. Unfortunately, they didn't have any tools with them....not even one. Because the movers did not have the proper tools, my mom had to run to the store to purchase tools that they suggested us to get, so that we can successfully take the bed frame apart. Needless to say, the tools they suggested did not work and were completely the wrong tools to get. Waste of money and time. As you can imagine, several hours went by where the team attempted to move the bed frame and take apart the bed. We ended up having to leave the bed frame all together for the time being, otherwise there's no telling how long this move could have taken in totality. 6 hours later the move was completed (excluding the bed frame)... but that's when another issue surfaced -- several pieces of my furniture had been scratched by the movers. The bed frame...........the dresser, desk and more. I called Chris at the end of the move to discuss my experience, and he was very unapologetic and frankly rude about the entire situation. It was distasteful to say the least, and I was taken aback by the lack of empathy in his tone. Before I could even send Chris all of the images of the damaged furniture, he called me and granted a minimal refund which does not come anywhere near the cost of the poor moving experience or the furniture that was destroyed. Moreover, it would have been ideal if Chris was more considerate, empathetic, and understanding during our conversation. I'm huge on professionalism, courtesy, responsiveness, preparation, and these are all elements that my moving experience severely lacked. I say all of this to say that I don't solely blame the two movers as they were clearly ill-prepared to do their job. They should have tools...always and they should also scope out the location prior to beginning the move, and the owner of the company should be more considerate when dealing with customers, especially as we navigate through the difficult and trying times that we're in. I would HIGHLY recommend looking elsewhere if you have valuable furniture and items you need moved. Trust me go elsewhere. We paid $1350 for a 2 bedroom apartment going only 3 miles across town. Not only did they break our stuff but their "insurance" only covers $0.60 per pound. It doesn't matter what it cost you. If It weighs 10lbs you only get $6 no matter the cost. (See their policy attaches as a photo). Also they charge per hour and once they have it in the truck they have no incentive to work quickly. Hence why we paid so much. Most importantly, they refuse to take liability for damages their truck causes to property. Seriously, Go with professionals, or just hire some day laborers outside of Home Depot/U-Haul store to move the heavy stuff and drive the truck yourself. Connor, one of the movers contacted me first thing on 7/10 to let me know they were on route. Traffic delayed their arrival about 30 minutes. Once Connor and Tim arrived, they went right to work. This guy said he ran my card and it was declined. This was AFTER he stated he was NOT going to return my items, that he was going to charge me storage, and I had to find another company to move me all because I said "that's what reviews are for" when he told me next time find another f***ing company if I did not like his services. He hung up and then tried to run my card for $1010 WITHOUT informing me he was doing so. He angrily called back and I asked why was he charging me for an unfinished job? He said that's what I owed for THAT day. I always transfer my money once you tell me the price, one does not just help themselves, ESPECIALLY after telling me he was NOT bringing back my stuff. Once I mentioned "lawyer" the next day, suddenly this was a HUGE mistake, he would bring my stuff back that day and I could have a 20% "discount". I had already been warned by his workers Chris does this kind of stuff, sending untrained movers, too small trucks and does not take responsibility for ANYTHING. The 1st set of movers even suggested I get a U-Haul and move the second load myself and asked my cousins husband if he had a jeep or something so we could finish the move ourselves saying we would save money, which defeats the purpose of hiring a moving company. Chris is arrogant, rude and has entitlement and anger issues. I have posted his rude responses and screenshots showing he was paid and that he is a liar. Please see screenshots of his threats and proof he was paid. 2 days, 2 crews, almost 12 hours to move a 2 bedroom apartment to storage. Approx $1200. SCAM even according to his movers. And the guys did not work through the night. They showed up an hour and a half late outside of the two hour window, which was between 12:00 and 2 and they showed up at 3:30. I call Chris right after I had rented a 10x17 storage space and ask for a three-man crew and he said they only used two men crew for a two-bedroom apartment. My storage unit was closed by the 2nd trip since the first crew couldn't fit everything on the truck and told me I would need another storage space since everything wouldn't fit into the storage space. Chris eventually sent a second crew the NEXT DAY, who not only unloaded everything left in the truck, but also took out EVERYTHING and rearranged it in storage so EVERYTHING fit and I did NOT need a second storage space AND THEY DID IT UNDER 2 HOURS. Maybe if he sent that crew the day before, I wouldn't have had to deal with two hard-working, yet woefully untrained movers who got there late and didn't know how to load a truck efficiently. The crew that came in the next day gave me the lowdown explaining this is what Chris does. I'm not the first person this has happened to and if you look at the texts that he sent me, you can see how arrogant and rude he is. How do you run somebody's card without telling them how much you're running it for when the job's not even done after threatening you're not returning the person's property the first place?. It is my belief that Chris planned on charging me $1,010 for a job not even done and then would have held my property hostage until I paid him another large amount of money to return it. Something his employees claim he does often as well. If you read other reviews, you can see that other people have had problems with Chris. We all can't be lying. Appears this is an ongoing issue and Chris actually needs some anger management and some charm School classes. I've never dealt a bigger jerk in my life. He then tried to write off the whole thing as a huge mistake but not until I threatened him with a lawyer given my landlord is a consumer advocate attorney and had advised me on what I needed to do as I was well within my rights. I also posted screenshots of payments to him which he got once he informed me how much I owed and I THEN transferred the money into the account so he could run the card. Such NERVE to think you can just run a card WITHOUT informing a person and then getting pissed off because the money you're trying to take WITHOUT permission isn't there and it screws up your scam of holding the person's property hostage for more money. read more

We had an uneventful and 'pleasant move'. ( You notice the drudgery of your move when things start to go wrong. ) Getting a quote was easy and I didn't have to spend a lot of time on the phone ironing out the details. There are no hidden fees and layered pricing structures. On the moving day, they gave us a call before they started to give us an update, arrived on time and got started. They didn't show up until 7pm. Then they said they were making a stop on the way to my apartment to do a labor job and took my stuff to someone else's house. The movers texted me saying that they were turning around and bringing my things to CT per the instructions from their boss so I had to call Chris back and play nice and feed into his ego so that he would release my belongings to me. They finished the job at 11:30PM. Chris is an unprofessional hot head to put it lightly. And blamed me for moving on the "busiest week of the year." Though from the look of these reviews, that seems to be his famous line. They also damaged my dresser leaving scratches and gouges in the wood but I think bringing these issues to the "manager" would do me more harm than good. I thought I left a review for this before, but it must have slipped my mind. I used this moving company back in the fall. Terrible experience and not actually that reasonably priced. The guys who showed up were several hours late, which is really awesome when you're trying to only take a half-day off work. They paid no attention to which boxes were labeled as "FRAGILE" and "DISHES" and were throwing them on top of each other. One of the guys literally dropped the box with dishes on the stairs--right in front of my aghast face--because he had stacked the boxes in such an unstable way. Luckily I had wrapped the dishes in many, many layers, so there wasn't damage, but the lack of care was awful. Right after this, they demanded a $100+ tip. Also, Chris is a nightmare to deal with. Super nice when you're booking a reservation, and then right after you're on the hook, his attitude completely changes. I used Two Young Studs for a ten mile move from a two floor, three bedroom home into another home of roughly the same size. I found them on Google. Apologies in advance for the short novel that follows, but I wanted to share my experience in detail so other potential customers could avoid the same pitfalls I dealt with + Two Young Studs had some constructive feedback to hopefully improve upon their service offering. PART 1 (MOVING FROM POINT A TO POINT B) The morning of the move, the owner called to inform me he'd be sending a crew of four movers instead of three and that the hourly service rate would increase by ~25%. The reason being bad weather was expected the following day, and they now needed to fit two days of jobs into one. I was told that this was actually a good thing for me because even though I was now paying a premium, the job would be completed more quickly, which would end up saving me money. The movers showed up on time and very kind and respectful from the start. They were however, very young and pretty skinny haha. I'm sorry to discriminate, but when your primary job responsibility is picking up and putting down very heavy, awkward objects, physical size and strength tend to be of high importance. After a couple of hours, we managed to get ALMOST everything in the truck. Three large items had to be left behind, and due to time constraints, I was told that I was on my own to figure out how to move the items from my old residence to my new residence. This was most frustrating because there was plenty of room in the truck to fit everything. What we were dealing with was not a lack of space, but a lack of foresight by the movers to properly plan and pack the items efficiently. The movers also accidentally broke the legs clean off an expensive dining room table, permanently breaking it. The table was worth around $2k when I bought it three years ago, so it was probably worth half that when they broke it. The table was very heavy and the movers were extremely apologetic and took complete responsibility for breaking the table + for not being able to fit everything in the truck. Two of the movers felt so bad they even offered to come by later and move the items themselves. From my perspective, the movers were doing the best they could given their youth and inexperience (I can't downplay how young these kids were). Ultimately, I blame ownership for not putting together a team with more experience. At the very least, the team should have been staffed with one senior member with the capacity and knowledge to pack a truck and prevent breaking expensive items. PART 2 (Unloading the truck and getting items into new home) This part of the journey went smoother but certainly wasn't without it's problems. By the time the team got to the second home, they were exhausted and rushing to try to get to their next job on time. I helped them carry as much as I could because it was clear they needed the help and were extremely tired. We managed to fit everything into the new house but did put a couple of holes into the wall on the stairwell. They also managed to save all of the pieces of the table they broke and tried to explain how it could potentially be salvaged/fixed, which I appreciated. I gave them food and gatorades, tipped each of them and they were on their way. PART 3- after renting a U-haul to transport the items 2YS couldn't fit in their truck to my new home and trying in vain to fix the table they broke, I decided to call the owner to explain what happened to see if I was entitled to any refund or money. The owner told me that the contract I signed states I needed to notify him of any broken items, claims, etc. immediately after the move and that there's nothing he can do to help me. I argued w. him and said that I had the info from one of the movers and I was sure he would admit that they broke the table and were 100% responsible. The owner (Chris) told me that the employees from that move no longer work for him (this is four days later) and he offered me $50 for breaking the dining room table that will cost at least $1000 to replace. He didn't even bother to apologize or ask how the service went in general. After going through this experience, it's pretty obvious to me that this is a business owner who: 1.Chose a industry (moving) that's consistently high in demand, largely undifferentiated, and low-cost to launch 2. Came up with a clever enough name 3. Learned how to generate a steady stream of inbound business via Google/Search 4. Employs cheap and unexperienced hourly laborers to do the actual heavy lifting while he sits back and handles the administrative tasks like logistics, customer calls, payroll, etc. All while charging the same rates that a true 'professional' moving company would charge because everyone is just a one-time customer he can churn and burn ad infinitum. read more

WOW! The most unbelievable, unprofessional experience I have ever dealt with in my life. First, movers show up 45 minutes late. Three kids all around 20 years old, no problem. They start out at a good pace, but slow down and say they can't fit all of my belongings in the truck and will have to make two trips. We go to my new apartment, all three movers are on their phone right away, no moving happening at all. They are swearing, dropping F bombs and the N word all over the place, stating they are about to quit, making references to shooting that N word, very abrasive and unsatisfying behavior in front of my new neighbors. My wife asks the movers to stop swearing, and this is when things start to get wild! The movers start filming my wife calling her a liar and a racist. She calls the owner of 2 young studs, Christopher Monks, and he apologizes, states he is firing all 3 movers, states they were involved in a hit and run causing damage to an awning at a previous job, and asked up to get the keys to the truck from them since it had all of our belongings inside, and for us to call 911 if they don't leave. I confirm this on the phone with Chris as well. I get the key from the movers, the police come and escort them off the property, and Chris says he is coming to our property from New Haven, about 30 minutes away. I leave to grab a quick lunch for my wife and I, and Chris shows up at the property. He proceeds to go into my apartment and verbally abuses my wife, backing her into a corner and screaming that we told him a different story than we told the cops. He then tells my wife to figure it out and leaves. All of our stuff is still in the truck and everyone is gone. My wife calls the police again based on Chris's actions toward her. I arrive when the police do again, and my wife is very upset, Chris tries to spin everything on her being racist, which he continues to do online days later, so she leaves to calm everything down. Chris's solution is to have the same movers, who he had us call 911 on and said was involved in a hit and run, the same movers who wanted to quit, they were the ones to come back and do the job. We pre-paid $800 weeks before. Chris said on the phone he would refund us, as soon as the police left, he told the movers to stop moving, and came up to me extremely mad saying I owe him more money for how long this has took. Mind you we still have items at our original place because his movers were unable to fit them in his small truck. He threatens to leave with my stuff, then threatens to dump it out on the sidewalk if I ask for any sort of refund. I allow the movers to finish the job, they damaged my walls and doorways whilst moving my property. The next morning, after my wife wrote a bad review, Chris called me stating I need to take down the review, otherwise the three movers would get their revenge. His exact quote, recorded and provided to the police, "I promise, they know where you live and what car you drive, they will get their revenge." We blocked his number, he continued to contact my wife through alternate numbers. We are now fearful of our own safety, the security of our valuables, and had to finish the job on our own with no financial compensation.
