Moving day can be stressful and not having a well planned estimate will cause issues…read more We were quoted $1,300 - $1500 for two men and a half day. We were asked to send pictures of all our items so they can fine-tune the estimate and make sure they are properly prepared to meet the customers' needs. We followed their request and sent pictures of EVERY item to be moved. Subsequent to sending the pictures the estimator said that after reviewing the photos he would like to add an additional man and increase the time based on his review of the photos. Their proposal was increased slightly ($1,500 - $1,700) (we had no issues with the request), and we awaited their arrival on moving day. Moving day came the workers on the truck were very nice. However mid-way through moving things went south fast. The workers broke an expensive glass bar cart and called to inform their home office. The original estimator then called to say we had more stuff than anticipated and the truck was full. The stuff was exactly what was in the one dozen photos sent two weeks prior to the move. These photos contained all the furniture and all of boxes that we had packed for the move. He then proceeded to state that we "didn't inform them there were boxes to move" (a complete lie). We calmly said two of the pictures sent to you (which the workers on site actually had on their cell phones) have a stack of boxes in the family room and another from the garage. He said well, "people move their boxes themselves sometimes'". Our response was simply questioning why we would have sent the pictures, at their request, if we intended to move them on our own. After arriving at 11:05 and deciding they were done at 5:30 sharp, the movers left over 20% of the remaining contents. They said they needed to move what they have in the truck and "they would come back the next day", but we would be getting another quote for the remaining move. When I questioned the additional quote the gentleman from the home office then revised it talk track to say he would not be able to insure he could come back tomorrow (Saturday, knowing the house was being sold) and stated and he would do it in 3 days (past the date of the house being sold) but the quote had to be signed to get on a possible schedule. He carried on saying "couldn't disrupt his clients already on tomorrows schedule". I guess its OK to disrupt a client by leaving 20% of the job behind. His quote for completing the move arrived the next day and the move would now be almost double the original price! Needless to say we quickly found an honest and reputable company for less than 1/2 of the additional quote from Two Movers. Two days later they sent a final bill for $800.00 more than his revised estimate, bringing the total moving cost to more than twice their original estimated when added to the additional mover we had to hire. We informed them of their error in number of hours billed, and reminded them they didn't complete the job, and that they broke the bar cart. Their response was that the bar cart isn't covered as they were not specifically informed of it in the move list, but they would give me $50.00 for it even though it was included in the pictures we had sent which prompted them to increase the original estimate. They said any items not specifically "written" on the contact were not their liability! The reality is they received pictures of all the items being moved, they double checked those photos well enough to increase the estimate to include an additional man. While we hope for a fair resolution that accurately accounts for actual hours worked and the damage to the property they caused, we have so far not heard back from them revising their billing or received any apology for the distasteful experience Update : The owner called apologized for the stress and miscommunications and we settled on a fair amount for the work they did The owner was very nice and concerned about our experience and perception of his office staff because it's not what the majority of his customers experience according to him My advice ask a lot of questions and list as many of your bigger or more expensive/delicate items upfront so you can openly discuss how they will be handled. Ask about travel timing billing and supplemental insurance for your property

THEY REALLY DESERVE NO STARS!!!!!!!!!!…read more Terrible AWFUL company. Based on the many bad reviews I see this is how they operate on a daily basis and do not care as long as they are collecting the usurious, undisclosed and unauthorized fees they charge. They lie, pull bait & switch antics, change quoted prices and every single employee from Aaron to Julio to Amber to Jessica are nasty, rude & ignorant, not to mention AWFUL at their jobs. They all back up each other's bad behavior and lies every chance they get. They are also terrible at what they are in business for because many of my stored belongings were damaged and broken, including a vintage coffee table they stored on its side and then piled heavy boxes on top of it, breaking one of the legs. Not surprisingly they ignored every attempt I made for restitution. Their unprofessional approach was for both Aaron and Julio to ignore my emails & hang up on me each time I called. This horrible company-which operates eight-8!-moving companies under 8 different names-should be shut down. Why 8, you ask? How else could they stay in business under one name with all the complaints against them?

I want to start by sharing the positive. AMAZING movers. Dominique, Josè, Chris, Shaon, Eric and…read moreAngel were strong, pleasant and worked the whole time, taking great care with my belongings and my home as they moved furniture and boxes. Now the truth about this company. 1. DO NOT USE THEM UNLESS YOU WANT TO SPEND WAY MORE MONEY THAN YOU HAVE TO AND DEAL WITH DIFFICULT MANAGEMENT. For the move out, the crew showed up 4:45 on a Friday evening, 15 minutes before they closed for the weekend. The following expenses resulted from their unavailability. 2. DO NOT STORE WITH THEM. It was at about 8PM, 3 hours after the movers had started packing up the truck, that I learned that the unload took as much time as the packing up, since my belongings were to be stored in small crates that needed to be carefully loaded to maximize the small space. And if $50/month/crate sounds cheap, know that my home (I lived alone!!!) belongings filled 7 of them, for a whopping $350/month (At a storage place same square footage would have been more like $200/month with a quick and easy move in, right there saving a fortune in hourly charges of $180/hour) 2. THEY INSIST ON ALL MONEY UP FRONT...Like I'm going to stiff them when they have my entire home in their truck! Because I was unwilling to pay up front, hoping to be able to leave my belongings elsewhere after learning of the time-consuming unload (At $180/hour) they kept my stuff in the truck and were not available until Monday (Their fault, NOT mine as I tried to call them but they were closed. Remember, the movers showed up 15 minutes before closing on that previous Friday!) They could have/should have called me on Saturday to discuss why i had not paid and what I wanted to do. Clearly they did not because they were closed and had no intention of unloading the truck before zTuesday anyway! They attempted to charge me 4 days of storage on their truck at $200/night. Are you kidding me? Since THEY were unavailable to discuss this new development in my charge, and various options? 3. THEY CANNOT COUNT OR BE TRUSTED TO KEEP THEIR WORD. I was assured that the $350/month was for the 1st month and then would be a daily charge after that. When I was finally ready to move into my next home, I arranged the date (I must say that the owner did make special arrangements to accommodate my move in date. Kudos to Aaron) and as soon as the movers arrived, it was "pay up first' policy. And they attempted to charge me $385 for the partial month. Not only was this not a per diem charge (I was 4 days short of a month, thus should have been 26/30th of $350, or $303), but they could not even remember their normal rate and I had to argue for the $350/month charge (Remember, it was $50/month/crate and supposedly I had filled 7 of them.). I had to pay this $350+8 hours labor up front before they would open the doors of the truck. I was not comfortable paying in advance as that would necessitate trusting that they would refund the overpayment should it take less time. 4. THEY WILL TAKE EVERY SINGLE PENNY THAT THEY CAN. I paid the 8 hours and it took them 7 but they only refunded me $130, NOT $180+4% credit card charge, since it took them 10 minutes to get to me (They drive OLD slow trucks) That's when I asked for the refund on the overpayment on the storage but of course I was denied. Shocking! 4. Again the movers were amazing but I would HIGHLY recommend using another company that has good reviews. Did I mention that only after I began to see the untrustworthiness of this company, did I bother to look at the reviews (MOSTLY BAD and about 2 stars). Believe what you read from the public. We know and can save you a lot of frustration and even money

    U-Pack Moving

    (8 reviews)

Less than a week before my cross-country move, I switched to U-Pack (see my scathing review of PODS…read more- don't use them!). Ultimately our experience with U-Pack was ok, with some great features and others that were not as good. I ended up going with the set-up where you fill a portion of a storage trailer. (There were no cubes available by the time I called them.) When I first made the call, I received great customer service during this very stressful moment. Sure, they want my business, but the agent did a great job being thorough and addressing my concerns. Also, the automated texts throughout the experience were helpful. I appreciate the flexible pricing - based on the amount of trailer you fill - and they could deliver a full week earlier than PODs. Amazing! At the same time, other parts of the experience were not great: - I wish there had been information upfront about the size of locks that were needed to secure the door and the panel inside. I ended up having to buy 4 separate locks as I was attempting to get the size correct. - When we received our items on the CA side, two of our boxes had water damage. One box was so wet, that it was falling apart. The second box, which had less water damage, was an electrical device. Luckily, the electrical device was not damaged, and the seriously wet box only had exercise weights inside. The liquid smelled like water, so I wonder if it was something else that was loaded behind our stuff that made these pieces wet. It could have been a lot worse, but it was certainly upsetting. - The driver who ultimately took the trailer away after the trailer was empty damaged a tree. The city took care of removing the branch, but the incident should have been reported.

I really can't say enough good things about my experience. It was incredibly simple. Everyone I…read moredealt with at both the origin and destination -- phone agents and drivers -- were ridiculously polite, cheerful, and helpful. Would absolutely use them again!
