This evening my daughter and I were out and about and in looking for something to keep her interested and out of the house for a change, I figured why not go look around Kohl's?! It turned out to be a great place at 6:00 on a Wednesday evening to teach a toddler how to push a cart around the store! Their carts are different, low to the ground, and manageable for even a smaller toddler like our daughter. A few bumped shelves later, we made it around the entire store without a major incident! I never did find a pair of new dress shoes, but it wasn't even my concern at that point! "Daddy and me" day was another success and we even managed to snag a treat on the way home. Accomplishment, folks!

We made our way over to Zapateria La Cabana, and were able to check out the store for his Tejana, and grabbed some souvenirs for the fam! It was a nice surprise when we got to meet the owner's son, Alex. He helped us find a good Tejana for my brother-in-law, told us about his family and their business, and also gave us a shirt and a sticker when we purchased his hat! We aren't very versed on sizing, styles, etc., and his staff wasn't either. However, she was kind enough to call him and let him know we were interested in a Tejana that he'd recently posted to Instagram. He wasn't in the area, but asked if we'd be able to come back around 3 o'clock. Since we were on explorer mode, we said we'd be back. So, we went to a couple other places and then came back around 4 thinking we lost the chance we were hoping for, but luckily, we were greeted when we walked in by the gentlemen, the hat pro, Alex. Honestly, the questions that came up about the hat were overwhelming, and I had to facetime my brother-in-law to answer them. However, the service and conversation I was able to strike up with Alex was great! He was so friendly and helpful, and very appreciative that we stopped by. Also, he was impressed that a family from Las Vegas followed his page, and they made the stop from their trip to see his products! He said that his family had a smaller shop, and they just purchased the shop we were visiting because it was a bigger space. He mentioned how it was pretty busy for the area, to us it seemed slow, but we're in Vegas, so we're used to shops that are filled. They have a great variety of Hispanic items for your view! There are hats, belts, a lot of different shoes, the hats of course, belt buckles, keychains, shirts, pants, just a bodega filled of random items that will allow you to browse and for sure find something you're looking for. There are also different hats that are available for purchase, not just the Tejana we took with us. If you're in the area in Bridgeton, and need something to do, and something to be able to explore, find, or purchase, stop by and visit Zapateria La Cabana. You won't regret it!

This INCOMPETENT MILLVILLE, NJ Goodwill has a terrible habit of using the wrong kind of tape on…read moreeverything. It's slapped across glassware, wood, plastic, even fabric -- and it ruins the products. The clear PACKING tape leaves residue, rips finishes and makes it impossible to carefully remove without damaging what you bought. On top of that, they're charging full retail (sometimes OVER RETAIL) prices for USED items that are already compromised by this over-zealous taping. Instead of helping people find affordable secondhand goods, they're destroying donations and overpricing them. Completely defeats the purpose of thrifting. I made every attempt to CAREFULLY remove their incorrect tape. See attached photos of $16.00 now-worthless, damaged Goodwill products. There are many other products that are incorrectly treated at this location similar to the attached photo. MILLVILLE, NJ Goodwill: Where Tape Is Stronger Than Customer Satisfaction. Apparently, this Goodwill thinks Scotch tape is a luxury feature. Even though the place has become a bit more barren, especially with the removal of the kids' arcade games by the main entrance and the recent loss of the candy machines, I still think there's some good left in it. Take my current favorite spot, Raintree Shopping (RS), for example. While at first glance it might look like just another rip-off junk store, there are some amazing gems hidden inside. They sell a super intriguing mix of overstock and off-brand products, usually for dirt cheap. It's the kind of place where you either find really weird stuff, total junk, or absolute gold. Honestly, there's something for everybody in there: For kids: $3 backpack, lunchbox, and pencil case combos featuring popular characters. For tech enthusiasts: Unique charging docks for phones and gaming controllers for under $15. For literally anyone: A goldmine of overstock clothing. Case in point: I recently found brand-name Goodfellow & Co shirts for just 5 bucks, which is a third of what they cost at Target! Plus, their denim section has some surprising finds if you're looking for cheap streetwear basics. While the mall as a whole definitely isn't what it used to be, spots like RS keep it worth making the trip, not to mention that café near Boscov's, which is pretty solid. If you're willing to dig through the oddities, you're almost guaranteed to walk out with a win. Four stars!

I could walk every day in the electronics department at Walmart for an hr but find myself bored at Target spending only a fraction of the time there, the same goes for the automotive, camping, and tools sections.
