I'm not a Yelper since I travel a lot, and dine out often. In other words, I don't want to spend more time on the Internet than I have to. But...I'm making an exception with Damian and his crew. I'm borderline OCD, so I'm more particular than most people. I'm also very familiar with painting, and the technique required to do a good job. I usually do my own masking and painting, but I decided at 74, I would just do the taping this time. I searched Yelp, and saw that Damian had earned rave reviews across the board. Then I sorted out and eliminated the usual yahoos, and focused on reviews from people who knew what they are talking about. Still no negative reviews. Finally, with great hesitation, I called Damian, made an appointment, and met with him, all within a matter of days. We discussed my requirements, and soon thereafter, I had an acceptable quote. Within another couple of days, Damian's people came and completed the job in 2 days. That included, prepping the walls and ceiling, and applying a coat of primer and two finish coats. We came to inspect the job at the end of the second day, and were not just pleasantly surprised, we were astonished at the level of care they took in painting. Living in a home where lint is unacceptable, Damian's folks left our apartment spotless. I mean spotless. I went over the apartment with a fine tooth comb, and couldn't find any mistakes. As a matter of fact, the apartment now looks like it was built yesterday. Damian didn't earn his reviews for being a slacker, a thief, or a hustler. He earned them because he's fair, honest, prompt and satisfaction oriented. I just finished up with Damian and it was an absolute pleasure. I found him on yelp and was very happy to experience that he lived up to the reviews. The job was done to a high standard (though it was a pretty easy one, not a lot of repairs, no stripes or anything), and he was very communicative and easy to work with (plus who doesn't love an Irish accent). Additionally, he was incredibly responsive over email, which seems like it should be a no brainer, but sadly is not. I hired Damian and his team to paint my one bedroom apartment. I initially stated that I just wanted to do the walls and was quoted a very competitive price. When I at the last minute asked to include the baseboards, he did not use it as an opportunity to price gouge me since I was pretty committed to using him, but was instead incredibly reasonable...and he was still able to complete my job in 1 day! I think the most impressive thing apart from the quality work, which is obviously important, was how flexible he was. A prior yelper had mentioned that Damian recommended a floor guy named Vincent. He gave me the same recommendation and it turned out great. However, as with a lot of jobs, the floors took 2 more days than initially stated. I had scheduled Damian to come the day after the floors were supposed to be done, and so had a bit of a panic attack when everything got delayed. Not only was Damian able to move my appointment back a day without complaint, he did it again when the floors were still not done! We found ourselves in tight spot having lost our painter of many years and were in need of an excellent painter to finish the last phase of our building's hall renovation. After interviewing nearly a dozen painters, I was fortunate to have found Damian. He was professional, responsive, punctual, communicative in reference to expectations and kept us on budget. An important detail I especially appreciated is that he managed his crew daily; they were all punctual and did an extremely neat job. I was further pleasantly surprised when he finished the project earlier than scheduled. After he left our building we had our new flooring/stair carpet installed which unbeknownst to me included toe molding that needed to be painted. Damian once again came through for us and sent one of his painters over to paint the toe molding and do some minor wall touch-ups. I have to say, five stars do not do Damian justice in rating him and the painting services he provides. He is a professional in every sense of the word and has a clear understanding of how to execute a painting project with no detail left out. He also understands painting materials and the surfacing they are covering which is so important. Damian and his team are true professionals. Damian, without complaint, worked around my co-op's restrictions. He carefully discussed the job with me before beginning work. It was a two day job, but it easily could have flowed to a third day, as the plaster needed significant repair. At my request, Damian added extra painters the second day, to wrap up by the end of day two. His workers were extremely polite. Except for a lunch break, they worked non-stop with great efficiency. I was impressed that they continually cleaned up after themselves as they worked. The building super actually thanked me for my selection of painters because they assiduously cleaned up after themselves. Damian and his workers turned an apartment with garish, very sloppily painted walls and trim, into one with tastefully and beautifully painted walls and trim. Even the interiors of the closets look great! Damian did not lose stride at any point. I had stepped out for a bit when he called me on my cell phone. His workers had noticed an active leak starting in my bathroom ceiling. It turned out a plumber was in the apartment two floors above making repairs. Since the ceiling could not be finished until dry, Damian promised he would send a painter back to finish the bathroom ceiling. I would recommend these guys to anyone. read more

212-Painter has been the most positive experience I've had, in my recent [stressful] move into a new apartment!! Damian and his team are sooooo reliable...their pricing is fair, they do an outstanding job, they clean-up beautifully, they are very punctual, and they stand behind their work! I am truly a "perfectionist", and would have to say that they are the best painters I have ever had [coming from me, this is the ultimate compliment!]. They came back [after being paid, in full!], to take care of a few "touch-ups"...I had no problem getting them to come back. Gone are the days when you can bring in a friend of a friend, Joe Shmo, and his brother, Mike Shmo, to paint your NYC coop. Many coops require painters to have insurance, workman's comp, lead certification and anything else. You need a licensed painter, with the proper certifications to do the job. This is where Damian Judge saved the day. Two " Joe Shmo's" bailed out after not having proper certification and I was left on Friday, with a tenant moving in the following Wednesday and no painter. Someone suggested I look for a painter on the internet and Damian's was the first site I found, as luck would have it, Damian was personable, fair and professional. He visited the apartment right away and gave me an honest evaluation and fair price. When he started talking about paint, I realized I was in the hands of a skilled, experienced tradesman. We hired Damian and his team to paint our new 2 bedroom apartment on the UWS. They did a fabulous job. They were thorough, attentive to detail, and FAST - they finished everything in two days when the other quotes we got said it would take a week. Most importantly, Damian was incredibly communicative and his team was prompt. He was receptive to our questions and willing to explain everything and offer multiple options. We mentioned that we were planning to refinish the floors, as they were dull and scratched. Damian gave us a very reasonable quote and did them right after the team finished painting. The floors are sparkling like new (and they are 100 year old floors) and I feel hugely relieved that we had someone so dependable take care of both items in fell swoop. Reading the reviews here you can see that Damian is a capable and competent painter who does excellent work. He was quick and professional in setting up an estimate and advising on paint type and color, and his workers did a fantastic job painting my apartment. Damian and his crew were all incredibly polite and pleasant to deal with. They moved the big pieces of furniture, set up quickly, painted over 3 days and cleaned everything at the end. I asked Damian to help with some old water damage to the ceiling from a pipe break upstairs and after Damian finished, the ceiling looked brand new. I would also like to recommend Damian for the way he got all of the extensive paperwork required by my building to the building manager and the management company. It was clear, correct and quickly executed. 212-Painter/Color Trend Inc was by far the best and most professional company I have ever worked with. We closed on my co-op a few days before I had to leave for military orders and while my wife was 3 months pregnant. With my tight window, they were able to start my project right away and dedicated additional workers to ensure my job was done in a timely manner. Because of the time constraints, we had to have some movers and deliveries during their work window. Not only did this not slow down their work, but they helped us fix a light and a window that was damaged during a couch delivery. They even helped my pregnant wife carry bags from her car when they spotted her outside of the building. The lead painter, Fabio, went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of during this time and did an outstanding job with the rest of their team. Job done today 11/4/14: I found Damian through Yelp this year 2014. I am new to New York and was very nervous about getting my apartment painted. When I called Damian for an estimate in July this year, he was extremely prompt in coming over and giving me a good idea of what was involved. I could immediately tell that he was very knowledgeable and straightforward. I finally was ready to get the job done and on November 3rd I called Damian to tell him I wanted it done soon and he had his guys here today, November 4th!!! Well, I was beyond pleased by how pleasant, courteous, professional and meticulous his crew was. They were out to please and attended to the minutest detail and even did things I had not asked for!! I just hired Color Trend to paint the living room and dining room in my apartment. Damian is extremely responsive, by email and phone, and a pleasure to work with. The quality of his work is outstanding. I am very picky and went over with him what I wanted: very crisp lines along window frames and ceiling, two coats, remove all wall outlet and light switch plates, etc. His people did a great job. They repaired a few bubbles and cracks before they began to paint, and my walls are now super smooth like the walls in a Park Ave apartment. The painters cleaned up entirely before leaving. If you live in a building that requires insurance coverage for any work done in a unit, Color Trend is the guy. Damian immediately submitted to my landlord the Certificate of Insurance in the form and with the coverage amounts required by the building. I will not hesitate to hire them again. read more

Simply put, Damian (and his superb foreman, Fabio) are the best in the business. Damian provided superlative service, and was beyond responsive to each phone call, text and question that popped up. 212 painter painted our 2 BR co-op apartment before we moved in. Damian was incredibly professional, his prices were competitive, and there were no issues with the building/insurance. We had a very short timeframe to get the work done, and we were also replacing our floors at the same time, so everyone was in the apartment all at the same time. They did the job well and very efficiently even under these circumstances. After seeing the color paint I'd chosen on the living room and hallway walls, I didn't like it at all and threw them a curveball by asking them to re-do it in a new color. They had gotten the work done so quickly there was plenty of time to address this, and Damian/ his team did not give me a hard time or even flinch (of course I had to pay a bit more for this). Damien answered my phone call at nearly 10pm, got all of my information, gave me an approximate quote, mailed the COI information required by my building right over to them, went by my apartment to check it out and make sure the estimate was correct (I didn't even need to be there), called to tell me the job would be as expected, shifted his guys around since he knew I needed the job done ASAP, sent two of his guys in the next day and did a PHENOMENAL job, finishing in one day. I contacted 212-Painter with a very last minute, emergency paint job. It's incredibly difficult to find professional people anymore, but this guy and his team are nothing short. Damian showed up to my business to provide a quotation only moments after my inquiry. His demeanor and professional appearance immediately made me feel at ease. Happily rating 5 stars! Hiring a painter without a personal recommendation can be nerve wracking, however, we were swayed by the positive reviews online. And I can definitely see how they earned them! Damian was so professional and was absolutely fantastic about communication. He returned all emails and calls very promptly, and was completely on top of scheduling the work, helping with certificate of insurance, etc. etc. He made the process really easy! He explained the pricing and options very clearly, and made that part of the process easy. We love the way our apartment looks! He even had a team member come back in later to quickly fix a few little scratches we made moving in. Damian and his crew did an excellent job of painting our recording studio (interior and exterior). Damien was quick to respond to our request for a quote. He came onsite the day after our request to look at what we wanted painted, and provided a very reasonable quote. Our recording studio is located in a public space, and the scheduling of the actual painting required some coordination with the NYC Parks Department. Damien was very patient and flexible as we worked out the scheduling. His crew was even able to finish the painting early (we had a very limited window for when we were allowed to paint) and were very understanding of the unique circumstances at our location. Damian and his painter Edwin did an AMAZING job painting our new office space's conference room 82 sq ft wall with 6 coats of magnetic paint and 2 coats of topcoat in 1 business day for a reasonable price. Shopped around and others were charging much more and couldn't do the job on short notice the way Damian could. The painted wall's borders are straight and crisp and there was no paint splatter on any of the surrounding surfaces, which happened in our last office space's conference room when a different painter used magnetic paint. Edwin even stayed longer than he was supposed to (4pm) so he could touch up some spots and clean up the room. Couldn't have asked for anything more from Damian and Edwin and we would highly recommend this company to anyone! read more

My experience with Damian and his team was wonderful. I went to a few other painters for estimates and Damian's estimate, though not cheap, was the most reasonable. He walked me through the entire process and was very quick in responding to my emails and text messages with my questions.
