We replaced the tire with my spare donut from the back but as those are only supposed to drive 50-70 miles and we had 300+ miles left to go, we needed to buy a longer lasting spare tire or replacement tire. My AAA - freakin useless, my liberty mutual roadside - useless, called every tow company, tire shop and roadside service in eastern Iowa, and in Illinois... not like we were in the middle of nowhere. Found one roadside that would bring a spare tire but they wanted $1,000 card hold..... We spoke to 30+ different places within that hour... Tires24 was literally the only place somewhat on the way that was open late. Someone answered right away, the guy on phone was patient and nice, assured us he would take us, even though we couldn't get there until right before closing because we had to drive below speed limit on the donut. When we got there, Lamont (the gentleman working) greeted us and understood and sympathized with our stressful trip there. He replaced the tire efficiently and was super professional and welcoming. The cost was surprisingly affordable, we weren't there very long at all which was great because we were exhausted. Lamont saved our asses and we highly recommend anyone in the NW illinois area call these guys first for tire and auto issues.

I had my vehicle towed there due to a battery failure. I asked them to assess for other needs. They came back with a quote hundreds of dollars more than other places are now telling me but the worst is that they tried to give only a 3 month warranty on new parts and labor. Parts that typically come with a 12-24 month manufacturer's warranty. They want to proudly display a piece of paper on the office wall citing they are a minority owned business but they are predatory. I wasted an entire day and money on having my vehicle towed to them plus the $80 for diagnostics because they are a auto repair business that lied to me when I questioned them about offering a 3 month warranty. The receptionist said she was told to tell me that 'IL state law allows them to reduce warranty' . A place like this has no business operating in any of the 50 contingent states as FEDERAL LAW does not allow a repair shop to modify the manufacturer's warranty. Under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, which applies in all 50 states including Illinois, a manufacturer cannot void or reduce their parts warranty simply because an independent shop (rather than a dealership) performed the installation. This is a federal consumer protection law and it is very clear on this point. Unfortunately for them they documented this revised warranty on the invoice emailed to me and even getting the invoice was a trial. The receptionist tried to have me 'come in to get it' but I refused as I had already been there to talk with the mechanic when my vehicle was dropped off. I insisted the it be emailed and it eventually was. Don't waste your time with these predators. No one has time for games and scams. I would never trust my vehicle repair to them and hope they are not preying on the surrounding community and college population in the area. Just disgusting.

The tire wouldn't hold air, and Pacheco's was nearby, so I stopped in. I was told the tire couldn't be repaired, which I understood. They said they had one tire in my size, used, for $80. Given the situation, I felt pressured but went ahead with it. To be fair, the tire was a Continental and appeared to be in very good condition--solid tread, no visible issues. I was even told that this tire was "gold," hard to come by, and that I had lucked out. Three days later, I decided to replace all four tires at another shop. Since Pacheco's had spoken so highly of the tire they sold me, I figured I'd sell it back. When I returned, I was told to speak with the owner. That's where things took a turn. The owner looked at the tire and said he would give me $5, claiming it wasn't perfect and that they have plenty of these in stock. That directly contradicted everything I was told just days earlier. When I questioned it, the response was essentially "$5 or nothing." So which is it? A rare, valuable tire--or one worth five bucks? I walked away disappointed and honestly disgusted by the dishonesty. I kept the tire as a spare since it's apparently "not perfect." This kind of inconsistency and misrepresentation is not good business practice, especially when someone is already dealing with an emergency. I hope others pay close attention. Don't take advantage of customers in vulnerable situations, and don't say one thing only to completely reverse it later. Trust matters.

An elderly Mexican man said my tire was no good and tried to sell me a tire. I just wanted the tire plugged. I told him I was going to buy tires later but not from his shop. He became angry and told my to leave the shop and don't come back. I'm a senior citizen, army disabled veteran and African American. Again he just went off! I suspect he was angry because an old woman didn't go along with his manipulation. I paid $20 for the tire plug after talking to a younger Hispanic male at the shop.
