It may be okay to live here short term, as in 1 year, but get out after that because rents will go up and these apartments aren't worth the cost!

Terrible experience! I have been living here since October 2016 and my experience was nothing but…read morebad from the quality of the apartment and tenants to the property manager. The buildings appearance is nice from the outside but totally deceiving. The apartments are cheaply made with no isolation between the floors. I can easily hear my neighbors upstairs talking, doing their business in the bathroom and having sex in odd times in the middle of the night. Neighbors upstairs stomps their feet hard on the floor and jump out of bed in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. I couldn't get a single quiet night sleep since I moved here. Water leaks in my living room from the neighbors upstairs due to poor flooring. I complained to the property manager multiple times but nothing she wanted to do. The community is filled with rude and dirty tenants. Someone with mental issues fired 17 rounds from his gun and a few buildings were hit in November last year. Luckily nobody got hurt. Each apartment has a dedicated numbered parking spot, however, other tenants park in my parking spot. When I complained to the manager she said there is nothing she could do and if I want I need to call a towing company on my own expense, absurd! Neighbors sitting out in front of the building and just stare at me every time I come and go. There is not enough room for the kids to play in such dense community so kids play on the roads which is dangerous, and it gets very noisy at night. It seems there is no proper tenant screening, what they care about is to fill empty apartments as soon as they could. Rent is not cheap at all, and it feels like living in a ghetto low income housing. I can't wait till my one year lease is over so I can move out!

Mountain View Property Services also builds decks under their decks and patios tab, which you can view here. https://www.mtnviewservices.com/deckspatios, and this is how I found them. My online consultation was great, and generally speaking the design aspect went well until it came time for material samples and timelines. That was when they stopped communicating, responding to emails, phone calls, or text messages. After my deck was demolished, they basically vanished, and after almost 2 months of no work being perform I had to terminate my contract, request my money back, and start over with a new contractor. Very unpleasant experience, and the owner has deferred any responsibility to this day.

Let's just say we moved in to a not so up to par apartment, but we moved out and left it 100x better than we found it. Promised to fixing things and never did or it would take constant calls and texts for him to come; those projects were never full finished. We made sure we would get our security deposit back, as my partner cleans and repairs housing so we knew exactly how to fix any small issues from normal wear and tear. It has now been 24 days since we moved out, I notified him on the 31st that we had moved out and cleaned. According to Vermont state law, he has 14 days to provide me with a statement of why he is not paying, or a check-- he has done neither. Multiple attempts via email, texts and phone and no response... DO NOT PURCHASE/RENT ANY PROPERTY FROM MICAH PAROLINE OR HIS COMPANY.

People out drinking, fighting, yelling, kids all over the place, police, etc. I was also shown a 3 level apartment and was put in a 2 bedroom-I was suppose to be on a waitlist which never happened. When I moved in the apartment was NOT cleaned! There was so much grease on the stove and back wall it took me about a month before I could use it. The toilet had urine stains in the toilet and on the floor. It was disgusting. I've been here almost 5 years and there has been 3 property managers--all of which who fail to resolve issues. "Rules" only apply to certain tenants. Dog feces and trash all over. I've had things stolen off my porch, car broken into and vandalized. Everyone parks in my parking space, tenants and their guests. "No Smoking" on property went into effect June 1st yet all the smokers will stand by my car, let their kids smash into my car on their bikes/scooters. They also sit in the field drink, smoke, and urinate! Yes, grown men will urinate where kids play!! A majority of the children are unsupervised-many other tenants including myself have almost hit children because they use the drive way as a playground. In the past I've had packages stolen from in front of my door. There have been tenants who have had people living out of tents and U-hauls-no joke! You will see people walking their kids to the park all messed up with open Twisted Tea cans-once again no joke! There's a lot of illegal activity which is obvious. I've also been waiting on a new kitchen faucet for over 2 years and a new dish washer since I moved in which is moldy on the inside. If it's a minor fix, do it yourself as you'll be waiting forever to get it fixed! Also, many of the tenants do NOT have jobs and sit outside starting problems. I live near "Telephone Tonya", she can't keep a neighbor because of her mouth-that speaks volumes.

The apartments look nice, but you don't actually get to see the layout or work that needs to be…read moredone until move in day, so you are renting sight unseen. When we moved in, the sliding glass door was decayed, and they had covered it up with duct tape and white paint. The faucet in the kitchen was too tight, and broke the first time we used it, causing water to spew all over. The dishwasher was from the 80's and the dishes came out even dirtier than when they were put in. I requested a new dishwasher, and the management suggested that we clean it. Which it should have been when we moved it, but fine. We cleaned the heck out of the dishwasher, still same results. 3 months later, after complaining, we finally got a new one...that still leaks all over the floor. It took two months to replace our sliding door. We complained that the toilet was really loose on the bathroom floor. It was never looked at. Half of our outlets do not work on the bottom plug in...which is really strange. There are almost 200 units in the complex, and only 2 handymen. It got to the point where if it was something minor, we just fixed it. The rules of the complex are incredibly crazy too. First, there are supposed to be no dogs. However, about 1/3 of the tenants have dogs. And I can guarantee that most of them are NOT service dogs. Second, cats are allowed, but indoor only. That's fine, because we have a cat, and he is indoor only. However, many people just let their cats run all over. One of the cats liked to poop next to our deck. Another person moved out and threw out a kitten that was just barely old enough to eat wet food. It was crying on our deck, and when I confront the people, they said the cat was my problem. I found the poor thing a good home at least. Another issue is the new manager. She is not friendly at all. She has made the complex into almost a prison. However, you can see what tenants are her favorites: the ones that have storage sheds (even though in the lease, it says they are not allowed), the ones that have toys in the yards (even though it also says in the lease that everything needs to be on the deck) She has even threatened to have cars towed if they are not moved when the plow trucks are there. The company who does the plowing and landscaping are the worst! They destroyed my fencing (which was approved by the prior manager) and a garden arch. We received a notice after the ice storm to move our vehicles for plowing the next day at 10 am. Which was fine. When I got home from work, at 5 pm, they were just barely plowing! We had to park our car on the side of the road for an hour, and the company did a really halfhearted job. The cost of a two bedroom apt is $1003 a month. Not really worth it, because there are a lot of issues. There are a lot of people that are not on the leases living in the complex that have criminal records, even though a criminal record is supposed to bar them from living there. There are dirty needles around, so do not walk around barefoot.

If you are looking for continuous construction noise Monday through Saturday, starting at 7AM to wake you up for the morning shift, this will be the perfect place for you.   Also, if you are anti-AC, or if you absolutely cannot tolerate the cooling air from AC during summer, then this place is perfect for you. AC never worked and my apartment was humid and hot that I could not sleep. Asked to fix it several times, for few years, but they never fixed it. Lastly, if you are looking to have laid-back managers, who do not handle your complaints of noise from the neighborhood after proving the evidence, I am sure you will get along very well with them. Oh! don't forget, they can immediately ask you to leave after being resident for 5 years without any problem, despite the fact that we are struggling with COVID-19.   I was happy for 5 years.  I am not happy ever since the former manager left, which was very recent. If you are thinking of moving into this place, make sure to be aware of these issues Good luck. But things might be little different if this place is no longer managed by same person. So, make sure to pay attention to all the details.

Only Bayberry Commons and Severance Corners were apartment complexes that came up on searches for me that looked decent. The application process was quick and easy and management was responsive (I never met them in person during my time there, just e-mails). Overall, the apartment was ok for my standards. I lived in luxury apartments in DC and Pittsburgh so I didn't expect to find the same thing in Colchester, VT. The building and apartment smelled a little moldy which I didn't like and the gym is a joke. Its just a couple of treadmills on the 2nd floor and anyone using them is going to make a lot of noise in the building. I did like the free parking. Overall, this is your best bet (and I'm assuming Bayberry Commons) if you're looking to move to the area. The price wasn't bad either. I spent under $1,800/month in rent for a spacious, dog friendly, 2 bedroom apartment.

They send emails at ridiculous hours late at night, but somehow still manage to be completely useless when you actually need them to do their job. The whole process feels backwards. They want you to pay application fees and background check fees before they will even properly show you the property, which is absolutely insane. Why would anyone want to hand over money before even being able to see what they are applying for? They are also completely unwilling to work with people on even the most basic, simple requests. I asked for a small amendment that every other landlord I have ever had would have made in about five minutes, and they just flat-out rejected it. No flexibility, no compromise, no common sense, just a hard no for something that should not have been a big deal at all. If you have any kind of actual life, school, work, military obligations, travel, or need to leave town for more than a week or two, I would stay far away from this company. They act like any small request is some massive inconvenience and make the entire process way more difficult than it needs to be. I would never rent from them, never recommend them, and never consider any of their properties again. Zero stars if I could. Complete waste of time.
