I needed a replacement FOB for my 2019 Kia Niro and the quote I received from Cobra Locksmith & Roadside was so reasonable I couldn't pass it up (besides, I would immediately know if the FOB worked). And it involves a locksmith who can cut the key and program the remote control to work with my specific vehicle. So I submitted a request on Yelp and got responses from several locksmiths including Continental locks. The price they quoted was about the lowest I received, around $200. And the locksmith was available to come out the same day so I went ahead and took a chance. Very glad I did! He worked very carefully for about 45 minutes or so and got a brand new key fob and spare door key cut that work perfectly in my vehicle. No more worrying about losing the original key fob! This house has many doorknobs and he was able to match the key for the new door knobs with existing keys. He did the job quickly and expertly. He was friendly, but focused on the task at hand. This guy lost it! He absolutely refused to give me a ball park price, nor did he ask for a picture of the type of lock. Well, this is a family run, woman owned company with 6 locations that are not franchises. Jennifer will give you information no one else does about the kind of fob you may be getting from other companies, that don't last as long. I would say this is a company that cares about you not getting ripped off. David came and worked his magic. Within 10 minutes the car that I locked (because I had to leave overnight in front of a store) was open and then another 20 or 30 minutes for the 2 fobs to be received and tested. With having work at noon the next day, I quickly contacted a few companies to get an estimate. Key 4 U was the first one who responded straight to the point. Gave a flat rate and provided times available to be helped. David called me and within 25 min arrived to my house, unlocked my car within 2 minutes and even helped me pick up my grill bowl that fell onto the floor. I literally just called because I wanted to know the price of a new car key. That's it. I made that very clear with the first guy I was talking too. Yet he was asking me for the make of my car model, my phone number and my address. I was thinking that it was only for reference in case if I did book an appointment. I tried asking him the price of a new car key, and he said he had no idea. I asked him if he could give me an estimated number, and he said that if he guessed a price it would be lying, so I'd have to talk to the second guy about it. Alright, totally fine! Well, second guy calls. Again, I tried to make it clear I just wanted to know the price of a new key. There were some times when I couldn't understand him, and there was one time when he asked something with "would you like it tonight?" I said yes, thinking he was talking about the price. He said he'd call me back in 15 minutes. Well WHAT DO YOU KNOW! 15 minutes later, he texts saying he's at the front. Wait, he's at the front? He literally CAME OVER to my house! I did NOT ask for that. I NEVER wanted that. All I wanted to know was the price of a new car key. I texted him this, and he tells me it would be $185-200. Okay... that's all I wanted to know! I told him that I wouldn't be willing to pay that price, so I asked him to leave. He didn't reply back. I thought it would be over, but this morning I wake up to someone ringing my phone.
