I called Bar Locksmith because Busy Bee was booked until 6-7pm and I was in a serious time crunch. I called the number and the man on the phone said it was $30 to get someone to my downtown condo in less than 30 min. The yelp address is 2 blocks from me so I figured it would be easy. I asked for a quote because Busy Bee quoted me $140 (they know my building very well but again time crunch) The locksmith calls me and tells me he is an hour away and he needs to get tools. I sent him photos of my lock and explained exactly what was going on. I still go through with this because it's still much shorter wait. When he got to my place he said it was going to be $200 to use a wire to go under my door to let me in my place. Once we got in he mentioned he hadn't work on a lock like this and he was on facetime with one of his fellow locksmiths showing him my lock and trying to understand what was going on. After he figured out the lock and got everything taken care of it was almost the time that Busy Bee quoted me and then after all that I was charged $320. Then to add insult to injury my lock isn't even flush anymore. Next time I will just wait the longer time for Busy Bee. read more

Don't do business with this company. They have zero integrity. Being out of town, I needed to hire someone to come replace a broken door knob to the front door of my apartment. Over the phone, the dispatcher mentioned that it was definitely something that they could do same day. My girlfriend was home to greet the technician and show him the problem. The shadiness happened when the tech tried to charge "$250-$270" for a 5" door latch. Just that particular part, not labor. I know you can't get it at Home Depot but I found the part on Amazon Prime for about $10. When I declined his price, he left the condo and left the out front door with no door knob at all (he had taken the old door knob off). It took about 10 min for me to put on the new door knob when I got back from my trip. read more
