The rink itself is badly maintained and the wheels of their skates catch repeatedly on the dented, cracked wood. Every member of staff we interacted with, from the woman who manages the place to the guy renting skates and the girl serving food, was so rude and indifferent. The floor and tables were filthy as if they'd never washed, pizza was dry and gross, and it was just overall a lousy experience. You also can't pay with anything but cash. This place has outlived its nostalgia value and really needs either a full overhaul or to be shut down. My daughter wants her own skate party this year and we're driving down to Austin instead. I'd never recommend Wheels for parties or even a casual skate, it's just dreadful and unpleasant inside with the smell and age, like it was frozen in the 90s.

He had his grandpa going to check out the different hockey games going on and watching the people ice skate. Note: it gets cold in there because they have to keep the ice frozen so bring along a warm sweater or jacket to be comfortable especially if you're usually cold. I definitely recommend this place. They also have a special events and public skating times. I plan I checking out one of those events. Im glad we had the opportunity to check this place out.

They have two rinks, yet they seem to prioritize hockey, leaving very limited time for public skating. There is often only ONE public skating session per day, despite having two rinks. They also no longer have the Saturday afternoon public skating sessions they used to offer. The public skating schedule is very unpredictable. The last couple of times, they've had sessions on Friday and Sunday, but oftentimes they don't. This makes it really difficult to plan ahead. It feels like hockey is taking over both rinks, while public skaters are being pushed aside. It's disappointing because this is a great, newer facility, but the lack of consistent public skating hours makes it difficult for people who just want to skate recreationally.

The staff was great about getting everyone fitted with skates or rollerblades and out onto the floor. They even have skate mates available for those still getting the hang of skating, which really helps the kids keep their balance. The roller rink area is quite large, with entry and exit points located all around. There's even a kid-friendly, beginner-level area at the back of the rink so little ones have space to learn. I felt the floor was in good condition, and the rental skates were great too! I'm a pretty good skater myself, and I had so much fun skating with the kids and the other parents who joined in too. You can do this. I ask if I sit outside before I go on the ice. No problem the skate representative said. The fee included skating to 1 pm today. I had plenty of time to muster up my courage. Then my mind started to swirl and then spin...fast and faster! Next, I was in a full on Exorcist head turning moment. Girlie, you no spring chicken any more. You are not twenty years old. Why is it so cold in here? Why does it feel like ice is flowing through my veins? Remember when you broke your little toe in two places...exercising.... There is seating around the outside of the rink to sit and put your skates on. The rink in general was pretty crowded so not the place for fast skating. The temps were in to 80s so the ice was slushy and lots of melted water, but should be expected ted with an outdoor ice rink in Texas. It is a very festive atmosphere with Christmas decorations galore. Also there are food trucks and options to purchase food and snacks. Overall, a fun holiday activity and a unique way to experience outdoor an ice skating rink in Austin, TX.

I couldn't see the Merry Go Round line but the people and families there were enjoying it. The ice rink didn't have too many people trying it but the people attempting to skate were having a good time. This place was packed and full of life. Overall it's a cool place to take photos and family for an experience. I've only been during the day but I'm sure it looks really cool lit up at night.

Their website is set up so that you can request a play/do not play list, you can enter what songs you want for your important dances, etc. You can also see what they own and request a certain number of songs at no extra cost. The reception was a blast! She took requests from the guests and played a good mix and slow and fast songs. We had a great time and would definitely recommend them to any couple!
