We love it here! Such friendly staff and so personable. We have had the lessons as well and absolutely love the teachers! My daughter gets better every weekend and I have a blast with my 80's flashbacks as I also skate! Such fun! Went here a couple years ago for my kid's best friend's birthday party. I hadn't planned to review it, but Yelp thinks I ought to and reminded me to do it despite this being back in 2023. The rink itself is badly maintained and the wheels of their skates catch repeatedly on the dented, cracked wood. Every member of staff we interacted with, from the woman who manages the place to the guy renting skates and the girl serving food, was so rude and indifferent. The floor and tables were filthy as if they'd never washed, pizza was dry and gross, and it was just overall a lousy experience. You also can't pay with anything but cash. This place has outlived its nostalgia value and really needs either a full overhaul or to be shut down. My daughter wants her own skate party this year and we're driving down to Austin instead. I'd never recommend Wheels for parties or even a casual skate, it's just dreadful and unpleasant inside with the smell and age, like it was frozen in the 90s. read more

Drove from Round Rock, TX to visit Wheels Family Skating Center for the first time. It was a :45 minute drive for us and worth it. For a Saturday night (6pm-9pm), it was not crowded. I completed the waiver and payment online. We arrived at 5:55pm and walked right on in to receive our bracelets. Love that you can choose between quad and in-line skates for no extra charge. Nice selection at the concession stand. We ate chicken tenders, fries, sausage pizza, frito pie, and chocolate chip cookies. Price for entry and food was reasonable. The entire establishment was clean including the restrooms. The skate floor was smooth as well. The rest of the reviews are true when it comes to music selection. I'm definitely glad I had my headphones so I could listen to my own tunes. Trust you will need them. Overall great experience and will return! read more

this place is not kid friendly at all ! They make all the kids who can't skate and need assistance skate in the middle only which is crowded ! they don't have toddler skates they make all the kids wear regular skates which is hard to skate ! They have tons and tons of rules which takes the fun away ! They don't give refunds! And they only have 10 assistance things so alot of kids could not skate 10/10 WOULDNT RECOMMEND read more

This is where you should skate. Period. Highly recommend the family skate on sundays. This will make my 10th time or so of many years. Recently implemented an app that tracks your visits and gives a free one for every six. I have 6 kids, so that makes a free one per visit. When they play the "4 corner" game is spread the family out and get at least one more free visit (shhhhhh). Pros: Had a birthday party there and loved it. Kids loved it. Clean! Even the bathrooms! Floor is straight and taken care of. Staff-just nice. Hard to find non-ass people these days :) Skates: quads and blades. Kids love the options Food: nothing bad! Not expensive. this place is honestly one of the worst places I've been to, if not the worst. My entire family and I came here with a party for my niece, and there was a long line at the front. why? because they wouldn't let you in without a waiver. which, I totally get. Safety first. But honestly, the fact that we can't even be in the building until we sign some stupid form is honestly so ridiculous. then, they don't allow outside food/drink. which again, I actually understand. but when you have a 9 months pregnant person in your party, that actually NEEDS to bring in their food, and you won't bend the rules for them? thats kinda stupid if you ask me. thank God my diabetic mother wasn't there with us. they wouldn't even allow her to bring in water. WATER. all because they wanted to make a few extra bucks. money hungry THIEVES is what I call them. speaking of money hungry, you have to pay. to get in, even if you don't plan to skate. what kind of crap is this? then when you finally get in the building, all you hear is what you can and can't do. this place sucks the joy out of skating. you have to skate in a circle. can't stop. coming here is what I would imagine visiting a communist country would be like. never going back. the music was alright though. read more

Old school roller skating rink that is uber family friendly. They are open for two hours on Saturdays and my family has a fun active time together. Tons of kids and parents skating with a center area for beginners. A real blast and great way to kick off Saturday mornings! read more

Came for a birthday and have to fill out a wavier to sit at a table. Are their tables not safe? Then was told that everyone needed to pay to come in if not on the birthday list. No one but two were even skating. I was told " this isn't Killeen " not sure what that has to do with anything maybe their tables are safer. I was told this isn't Starbucks to calm down and that " i ain't bout it and the bullshit we can refuse service , it's private property and I ain't bout it" so maybe Temple doesn't teach proper English and that was meant by this ain't Killeen. I can see from other reviews the common denominator is the lady at the front door and if Wheels would like to improve their rating she needs to take an etiquette class and maybe learn some proper English before greeting others. Unfortunately, Wheels has fallen far short of the low standards they set for themselves. read more

This place charges full price for people that are not skating! I get that there is only so much room but they could at least charge half price for non skating admission since they are not having to clean and provide the skates that they say are included in "general admission". I would give them a zero if I could. After calling 14 times from the time they were supposed to have opened, I drove up to the rink to get my question answered. I was told that I needed to leave a message and that someone would call me back within 30 minutes... That is ridiculous. You are open for business and you have a phone and you're supposed to answer the phone during business hours! I am not going to leave a message and wait for you to call back! You are open, you have staff and this is a place of business! That would not be acceptable at any other place of business! And the lady was really brash about it, as if it even made sense!?! The place is clean and the music (Sunday afternoon, 2nd session) wasn't inappropriate for my 5 year old. I'd say it's considerably better than the Belton or Killeen roller rinks. Thought it was pretty neat they have two types of assist accessories for young children who can't skate or rollerblade. I do wish they had popcorn for non birthday customers though. read more

The ability to do the liability waiver and pay admission on line us a big plus. Medium in size floor was pretty good, one rough area but not enough to cause issues. Worst place EVER! I took my child there only to find out that they didn't have her size skates, when I went to the counter to ask for a refund (less than 10 min after arrival) I was declined my money back. I was treated rudely and the lady pointed at a sign stating that there were no refunds. I WILL NEVER go back, save your money and go elsewhere! read more

We love Wheels! I found Wheels when we lived in Killeen and it was worth the drive for us. My kids had gone to a party at the Killeen rink and they were almost getting run over by teenagers. Wheels is a much more family friendly place. They have appropriate music, and younger kids earlier in the day. . When my husband was deployed I would take the kids every Saturday morning. At first, they were constantly falling and I had to help hold them up, but at the end of a year they were flying around the rink, skating backwards, and doing the limbo competition. They also have a great deal for skating lessons, which helped them and got us out of the summer heat. . The owners and staff are so incredibly nice, and now that we have moved I miss them! Overall, the place is nice. It has been well taken care of, and even all of my adult friends had fun hanging out and eating nachos and cheese fries while the kids skated. . The only negative that I can think of is the parking lot. It is hard to maneuver around, with all of the dips, but I'm not sure they have control over that. . Overall, it's a great place to take your kids to get some exercise and learn a new skill! read more

Wheels is owned/operated by a family passionate about roller skating and their community. It is a great experience from the time they greet you at the door. I like the Tuesday evening session where they spin 70s, 80s and 90s music we big kids remember from back in the day. We rented the place for 2 hours for our Cub Scout christmas party. The staff is so hospitibal and friendly. The kids had a GREAT time and I didn't have to do any work other than tie skates! :D Loved it. We had our school fund raiser here as well. Everyone should look into this that are involved with Kids and non profits and needs fundraisers. The pizza is GREAT too! read more

We had a private party for our sons 7th birthday and it was more that we could have asked for. The staff was wonderful and helpful throughout the party. By far the best place for a party for kids and adults. We will definitely be back for future parties and events. read more
