I came for their bun rieu because somebody told me it was good. It was mid, needed stronger flavor. I make better bun rieu at home so I will just do that. Probably wont come back often. Service was slow and parking was horrendous. It was convenient to shop at hiep thai for groceries and then come eat here for lunch.
I still come to 286 Noodle House to deal with a pho craving. The broth is still so warm and yummy.
Would give 12 stars if I could, this place has the best & most authentic Vietnamese food in all of DFW area. Service is quick and friendly, and every menu item is a hit. I take all of my Vietnamese family members who are in town here, and they always order 10 things to go so they can eat it all week! It's quite the drive from where I live, but I still find myself coming here once a week -- so worth it! Their Bun Bo Hue is my favorite thing on the menu. I do wish they had Banh Xeo though
I am so thrilled and excited to have found this place. I am Vietnamese and have never quite found a place that is on par to my mom's home cooking but this restaurant has exceeded my expectations. The ca kho tho (braised catfish) is SOOOO good, perfectly fatty and melts in your mouth. The canh chua (sweet and sour soup) is perfectly sweet and sour with very generous catfish portions. We only ordered 2 items and it definitely could feed 3-4 hungry people. We had plenty left to bring home. And the total was only $40-45!!! Would highly HIGHLY recommend. My new absolute favorite place in the DFW Area. And my mom (the tried and true Viet mom chef) approves. ;) If you want authentic Viet food, come here!
The spring rolls where decent sized and tasted great. The peanut sauce was okay. The pho was as a good sized portion with a decent amount of meat. The broth was a bit lacking in flavor. Service was quick.
Great pho and prices! I got a small pho with flank and brisket for $9.99. The meat amount was generous and broth was so rich without it being oily. I also ordered an ice viet coffee w condense milk to go ($5.25). Inside was super clean and packed- my only concern was the slow service. It was hard to order if you don't order while getting seated, my friend got spring rolls w peanut sauce and they brought it out after 10 mins and after she ate it, and my ice coffee didn't come with condense milk. I ended up going back bc I paid $1 extra for the milk and it was very apparent because the coffee was black. If you go here please expect slow service and to repeat your order!! In response to business owners question : Sunday 8/11 at 11:40 am is when we sat down. Weren't able to place an order until 12 (20 mins) and my friend got her rolls 10 mins before the sauce. Very hard to flag service
Honestly one of the better pho spots in DFW that's also reasonably priced. This small bowl of pho was around $9.99 and had a lot of meat and beef meatballs. The broth had a lot of depth to it even without hoisin sauce. My dad got a medium which was $10.99 and it had more noodles and a bit more beef. But both bowls were like the same size! I heard on some days they have fresh noodles, instead of the dry ones. Service is normal and the restaurant looks new. Definitely try it out!
We were accustom to the local Bistro " " vietnamese restaraunt. We decided to try something different and closer to home. I wanted to get a picture of the food when it was placed on the table but, it looked and smelled so good, we couldn't wait to dig in. Some of us had alraleady finished eating when I remembered. Ya'll. The peanut sauce is NOT watered down. The broth was so yummy in the phu. Even the Oolong tea was good. Excellent service. I don't know how in the world they could evern get less than 5 stars. We will be regulars

It was my second time here and it really good. I l pe their canh chua which is the hot and sour soup filled with so much flavors and they give a side of fish sauce and bird chili. I would say there should be more bean sprouts and okra in the soup. The canh chua is best paired with their braised catfish perfect with a bowl of rice. Their springs rolls are really good as well. I will be back to try other things on the menu. The food comes out quick and the waiter are really nice. read more

Went with my grandparents to 286 noodle house in garland. I got the Hu tieu soup with seafood and pork ribs and they got the dry Hu tieu. My soup came with a ton of seafood (shrimp and squid) and slices of meat. The pork ribs were overcooked though, they were VERY tough and hard to eat. I liked my grandparents dry version more. I think they are known for that here because everyone around us had the dry version. I just didn't know ball like them read more

Plenty of parking, table was clean, food was good. Took off a star because they brought our egg rolls pretty much after we completed the main courses, we actually thought they forgot to bring them. Also, they never came back to see if we needed anything else or refill the water. Despite this, I do recommend. You pay at the front, not at your table. read more

We've came here before and we had a good experience but the second time we came, it wasn't as great. We went on a Sunday which is usually busy but they ran out of Pho even before 1 pm. My sister called for Com Thịt nướng and it came out in 10 minutes while me and my mom called bún riêu. 40 minutes past and still nothing while other tables have been served. They mixed up our orders while newer tables already got their food. read more
Noodle House was the perfect lunch stop between shopping for Tết things in the surrounding stores and markets. The girls shared a porkchop rice platter and spring rolls, while hubs and I got the short-ribs Pho and the bun bo Huế. I love that they include rice paddy herbs on the garnish plate. Though both broths were filling and flavorful, the meat is what makes it memorable. From the thickness of the porkchop to the abundance of protein in the BBH, 286 is more generous with their meats than any other noodle shops we've been to. I haven't been to a lot of great pho places in Dallas, but 286 was really solid. My friends and I came one morning after a long night of drinking, and it hit the spot. It's a really clean and bright space, and service is really good as well! The broth is flavorful and rich, and you can just tell it's a good bowl of pho. I would definitely come back again. read more
This was a nicely decorated restaurant with good service compared to typical Vietnamese restaurants. It was a plus that the server knows English. I ordered #13, the beef ribs is huge and there were a lot of other meats. You could choose the fresh wide noodles option that they offer and it was the kind I like on pho. The soup didn't contain any msg that I could detect and it was the slow cooked and the very flavorful kind that I like, without lots of spices and sugar added, the soup base was very similar to pho bac's. This is the only restaurant I found in the Dallas area that served fresh wide noodles and I'll be coming back for more! read more

Wow, totally blown away by the food here! Such amazing flavors!! The broth of the canh chua is so spot on, reminds me of home. The ca kho is also very good, could be a little sweeter maybe? But overall very good. Com tam is probably one of the best I have had. The pork chop has a wonderful smokey flavor. Portion is generous (we got three pork chops for one dish). We also got the hu Tieu (dry noodles), but I forgot to take a photo. It is also very good. Good service. Chill and lowkey vibe. read more
There aren't many Vietnamese places that have banh canh on their menu so I was very excited to come here. I got a decent amount of pork hock but I wish there was other cuts of pork as well. I enjoyed the dish of vegetables that added to the flavor of the broth. I intended to add spices but it was perfect and didn't need additions. read more

A good friend raved about this place and brought us here for lunch. Even though we were planning to eat light, we couldn't help ourselves! I had the pho tai nam gau (filet mignon, beef flank & brisket) and wifey had the hu tieu tom thit (special rice noodle with shrimp & pork). My pho was perfectly balanced. I wasn't overwhelmed by something like star anise, and the broth was clean. Wifey opted for soup-less noodles which were really flavorful. Usually this comes with ground pork, but instead it was pork belly - not a bad thing. Staff was friendly and plenty of parking out front. No more weekend specials or happy hour deals on pho though. Still the food was a pleasant surprise and we enjoyed it very much. read more
Super hungry and unsure of where to eat, here at this part of Texas. I searched Yelp and picked 286 Noodle House for the 5 stars ratings ( which was during my search) and reading some great reviews. 286 Noodle it is! They were close by to where we were visiting. 286, I am not sure what the number resembles? This complex brings back memories of when I visited Dallas for the very first time. They are next to my favorite shop to get steamed pork. Business is nice and new, service is lacking! One waiter is nice the other waiter didn't seem so friendly, asked for few items and he forgot to bring. ex. vegetarian rolls, did not receive but was charged for it. requested for steamed bean sprouts but didn't happen. The menu states free (Nuoc Lanh Loc) filtered water, I had to confirm what is free? My daughter and her BF both got one order of the egg rolls, 2 large pho, and 2 for $6. drink special of iced coffee. The iced coffee had too much ice and not completely filled. They enjoyed the their pho bowls but not the egg rolls. I wish I gave their pho a try so I can see for myself. I didn't want to mix soups. I ended up with the Crab soup, bun rieu and it tasted different from what I am use to ordering back on Oahu. When I asked the waiter, he mentioned that this the style is how Vietnam cooks it and the soup from Oahu is a Hawaiian version of Bun Rieu. ( Interesting) The meat loaf that comes with the soup has a different taste, does not have the crab/shrimp taste. The soup comes with tofu, steamed pork, pigs blood and tomatoes. No shrimp or pigs feet. I guess this restaurant style of Bun Rieu is different. The broth is light side. Overall, despite a few hiccups with the restaurant, when or If I visit Dallas again, I would stop by to try the pho. Hope the ratings remain at 4.5 stars then and they improve on the service. Saw a happy hour sign near the bathroom door, 20% off 3-6 pm. read more
