I got some rice rolls to go and they were solid. The ground shrimp one - not a TON of filling is my only complaint but overall I still enjoyed it. The ground pork one was perhaps a bit better for me. Wish they had a grilled pork version. The shrimp, potato and sweet potato fritter was nice when I warmed it up in a toaster oven. Much better than just eating it cold imo. The fish sauce with the side of hot chili was delicious as others have said. Plus the fried shallots or whatever is the topping - really nice. For banh cuon I would come back again for sure. Food came out quickly and I didn't have any problems ordering since the menu is so small - just pointed. The most authentic spot in Dallas for Banh Cuon. I'm happy to find this gem outside of Vietnam and California. I really enjoyed the pork meat one it was packed with flavor and delicious with the spicy fish sauce. The service was good I had to order in Vietnamese which was fun. Located in Cali Saigon Mall and is a small operation. They specialize in banh cuon (rice rolls). The lady that runs the front doesn't speak English, so you'll have to be patient and communicate well what you want to order (or hopefully someone can help translate like they did for us). It is very hectic because you order at the front but she is running around everywhere and not necessarily paying attention or working on something else. We had to wait 10 minutes at the counter before she acknowledged us. There was a large group behind us that kept on trying to order but weren't able to and just left. However, once we got the order in it was smooth sailing. The banh cuon itself is very fresh and thin. Great flavors and the fried potato/shrimp fritter is also tasty. We also got the hu tieu nam vang, which is like a pork and shrimp rice noodle soup. It had great flavor and came out hot. You pay at the end and they do accept credit card. The lady is very nice once things slow down but hope they can smooth out the operation a little more in the future because the food is delicious. read more

Not the best service, but I really enjoyed the food! Nice and tasty. Good portion and presentation. Just make sure you get everything you ordered before you eat. The staff forgot an egg roll dish but brought it over after I notified them. Then while I was eating, another customer was prepared the wrong dish and exchanged it. Still trying to figure out how this place has so many five-star reviews. It's an Asian restaurant, so I get that the focus is supposed to be on the food rather than customer service. Totally fine. But standing at the counter for over 15 minutes without so much as a nod or "we'll be right with you" is pushing it. The food? Mediocre at best. My dish came out cold, and instead of remaking it, they just reheated it like leftovers. Yes, they even reheated the lettuce. But the real kicker? The fish sauce. Somehow, they managed to make fish sauce completely flavorless. That takes skill. Seriously, five stars for achieving the impossible there. Banh cuon was sooooo good. The skin was soft and chewy. The nuoc mam was sweet and savory with lots of chili peppers. Everything was really good but the food comes out in waves. The dish I had was good, but took off a star because they had no egg rolls before noon and the dishes are limited. If you offer a limited menu, then you should at least have ALL of the menu items stocked. Also, no water or table service. Despite this, would recommend if you want to try their dishes. We have been eating here at least once a month these last two years or so, and every time we would order the Banh Cuon Tom. Definitely one of the healthiest dinner options for us! From the taste of everything, we believe they must make everything fresh daily. Their banh uot here is good. My husband and I enjoyed it. I wouldn't come here and expect stellar service but food here is awesome. I do like how it comes with Cha and Fried Shrimp mixed batter with sweet potato. If I were to critique it, maybe make it warm and crispy and serve it. Mine was cold but it wasn't soggy or anything, I just expected it crispier. Dining area is open and spacious. You order at the front counter and pay when you're done eating.
