David and his brother run an awesome shop here! 2M has been a staple in the BMW aftermarket scene for quite some time, especially in San Diego and SoCal. They do great bodywork and make some fantastic builds for people. These guys love what they do. Specifically, I knew of them from being in the BMW scene locally here in San Diego. I had some lady hit my car and nearly rip off the front bumper in a parking lot. They were very accommodating and painted my new bumper with perfect factory paint matching. I took my E92 BMW M3 to my usual shop to get a JL Motoring carbon fiber front lip installed and when they did a test fit of it the fitment was not great, so I called JL Motoring to ask them about it and they recommended I take it to 2M Autowerks. I scheduled an appointment to take it in and they did a phenomenal job with getting it installed quickly and with great fitment! I am super pleased with how good it looks! Horrible just horrible business ethics. I reached out to these people to get a quote for some body and paint work on an E46 wagon. They also advertise to sell body parts for E46 Fender made from fiber glass. A guy name David sent me a quote for the whole build including body work, paint and some mechanical work on 04-19-20. His price came extremely higher than other places I had already spoken to for the same work. He assured me His paint work is one of the best and he uses special paint and materials. He also mentioned the fiber glass fenders which he manufactures are better than metal Ones. I had no experience with the FRP materials. I did not agree for them to the work due to high cost but I decided to order one fiber glass fender which they are still advertise on their website (05-29-20). The parts description is E46 SEDAN/TOURING M3 FRONT FENDERS (PAIR) $800.00 There are sold also sold on another website. I received a text from the owner of the shop few minutes after I placed an order and paid for asking if it was me who ordered the parts and as soon as he found out that was me he said he is not making the parts no more and he has to remove them from his website. This was 05-09-20. He apologized and promised he would refund my money. He then asked whether if I am going with him for the full build. I told him I had spoken to some other shops and their pricing were much lower than 2M Autoweks. He asked me which shop and I told him. He held on to my money I paid for the fenders that later he claimed he did not have For over a week. This was after when I told him I would not use his service for my body and paint work. Now I have realized talready reached to the other shop which After I told David that I can not afford his high price and mentioned the name of the other shop that I am going with (to be transparent) he sounded very understating and specifically said "no hard feelings" as he is extremely busy and did not need my project. I reached out to the other shop and in my surprise they mentioned David had reached out to them and told them I offered him more money which is higher than what this other shop has initially quoted me. They are basically turning my job down telling Me I should go back to 2MAutoweks. What a pity that if decided not to hire 2M Autoweks and all they did sent me a quote on the internet since I don't even live in California they made sure no one else would do my project either. Not sure what to believe, them wishing me luck and saying they had no issues with me going with some other body and paint shop or them calling the other shop and fabricate some stories as if you restricted to pay and agree with 2M Autoweks contact which would probably take few minutes to prepare the estimate. I don't usually write reviews on Yelp, but felt compelled to in this situation. I brought my 2016 BMW 535i here for basic brake and rotor maintenance about a month ago. I supplied them with all the parts. These guys aren't mechanics! They have a third party guy who uses the shop for repairs. They over torqued all my lugs and stripped several of them. I had to bring my car to the BMW dealership in order for them to cut the lugs off. Wasted an entire day. I tried contacting 2M Autowerks via phone and Facebook with no avail. They've read my messages on Facebook but decided not to respond. Now they're just avoiding my messages and phone calls. Crazy unprofessional. MY 2 CENTS: Stay FAR AWAY from these guys if you're looking for basic maintenance or mechanic work. If anything, at most, they're only a body shop. read more

Even took the time to install an updated hood pin set for my carbon hood setup (Quik-Latch mini QL-25), followed every step to the letter with these newly released QL-38 Quik-Latches, and just like the aero kit install, flawless installation and craftsmanship!! Was told to bring the car back to fix the improperly re-installed bumper and witness the condition in which they gave my car back to me. He told me to bring the car in at noon. I said I'd be a waiter and he said that's fine and that they weren't busy. I showed up. I also showed him the dirt still on my car and all the smear marks where they ground in the dirt when they washed my car the night before (in almost total darkness). I told him it needs to be polished out and I would do the wax. His response was "I'll talk to my guy," which is his way of blowing me off. He then got irritated and told me it would be 4 hours! So like an idiot, I bit the bullet and went for a jog and ate at Dennys. I came back 3 hrs and 45 min later and my car had not moved. No kidding. I then waited in the reception area for another 15 minutes cause no one is ever there (as stated in another review). He then comes out with a drink and his lunch and says "oh sorry, my guys gonna take a look at it right now." He then sat at his desk facing me, doing something on his computer and ate his lunch. I could see now that I was getting the proverbial middle finger. 15 min later the worker said it's done, went and looked at it and they f-ed up my car by trying to raise the tail light and ended up chipping the very end corner of my bumper, possibly by trying to use some kind of pry tool to raise up the headlight while tightening back down the set screws. Note that this chip was exactly 7 inches away from the scratch I had them fix in the first place. Of course the guy then said "we can't take account for that" and immediately just walked off. His brother then came out, I told him that the bumper now needs a repaint and he blew me off as well. I checked Yelp before I took my $39,000 new car there (4664 miles) and dismissed the negative reviews because they have some good ones as well. Holy Jesus Christ on a bicycle, was I wrong. I gave up my battle, and they didn't charge anything, but now I got my car back in worse condition than I presented it to them in. I'm writing all this because I believe in Yelp and believe in helping other car enthusiasts like me with nice cars. My car is show worthy, believe me (only 500 out there). I had an uneasy feeling from day 1, when they didn't look over my car at all when I initially dropped it off. At good shops, they look over your entire car very carefully to note any current damage or flaws, which 2M doesn't do. Also at 2M, they do written quotes that are literally 1 sentence long with a basic header and no warnings or disclosures. It is not itemized like good, legally organized and legitimate shops. That is extremely shady and legally to their advantage. Think about it. And they don't even defend themselves on Yelp. I witnessed 2 of their friends show up in BMW's and shoot the crap on a Friday afternoon and seriously think a lot of the 5 star reviews on here are bs. I've been there 4 times for 1 scratch. Their floors are dirty, bathroom especially nasty. I took a leak all four occasions I was there in over a 2 week period and I noticed they never had any toilet paper. They must like to unclog toilets when people wipe their ass with paper towels and don't want any female clients either. All this is called a clue, showing you that they will shit all over you and stand there and tell you how good you look in brown. Like Robert B. said in his review... stay away from 2M. My car today require the removal of my headlights and it was done in about 1.5 hour and the installer took time telling me the process. 2M Autobody was a pleasure to work with. I gave them a call and informed them of my vehicles situation. They gave me a verbal estimate to give me a ballpark and asked me to come to their shop for a better estimate. Once I arrived, I realized their shop was neat and well appointed. They took a look at my vehicle (Audi S4 Avant) and gave me a reasonable quote for repair work. They scheduled my vehicle for the following week. About a week later, they let me know when I should return to pickup my car. When I arrived they had fully cleaned the car. I left with a smile on my face and what appeared to be a new car! This place was the most unorganized place. car was still in pieces when they said it would be done. Wired mirrors up wrong. Chipped painted a month later. This place is ran very poorly. However they did a good job on fixing the fiberglass repair on a piece of my car. Here is a quote from a friend about their work ". I thought you painted it yourself. I would have went back and throat punched whoever called that a professional paint job. The car is gone but yeah the front was chipping bad and had I knew you had a shop do it I would have said something but if you do it yourself you can expect that." Don't go there! read more

I had 2M paint and install an aftermarket front lip spoiler and rear trunk spoiler on my car. My car is a very rare color and is very hard to color match. 2M did a great job of making sure the parts were the right color, and installed properly. They even fixed a small fitment issue caused by a poorly made part so that everything looked perfect. Note, they are not an earl schieb or maaco that just pounds out paint jobs as fast as possible. They're a small, family-owned shop that takes their time to make sure each job is done correctly. So, don't expect to show up and get everything done in 2 hours. Perfection takes time. read more

A hit and run accident led me to this auto body shop. I filed my insurance claim, and based on what I heard about their work through my BMW mechanic, decided to take my check to them. 2M's pricing was so much more reasonable than the other shops I spoke to, and the owners were 100% upfront and honest. They also gave me the option to choose the paint materials to suit my needs and budget. Because I didn't want mismatched paint, I opted to pay extra to get the entire car painted. The finish looks like glass. A+ work. I also had them repair a few door dings, and paint my factory wheels. They're super easy to deal with, and obviously good at what they do. 2M was referred to me by a friend of a friend named Khoa when I needed some parts to be painted on my old Acura RSX. I stopped by some time around January 2010 when they were barely setting up shop at their location, but they were still able to provide excellent service. I believe it was David who helped me out and guided me through the whole process. He never kept me out of the loop and always kept me updated through phone call, text, and email; laying out a time table and sending me pics of the soon-to-be finished product. I was very impressed with the attentiveness of the service technician and with the overall communication from the facility. I had to bring my car here to get a dent and a scratch fixed. The car shop I go to referred me to these guys. Since these guys were only a couple blocks away, I've decided why not right? The shop is right by Miramar Road where Group 5 Motorsport used to be. It's pretty easy to find. There is no front side parking so you have to pull into the side towards the back of the shop.. You could probably also park by the curb. The inside of the shop looks clean and professional. All the guys seem pretty cool. When I came to pick up my car, they did a really good job making the damaged side look as good as new. So you're probably wondering why I'm only giving them 3 stars. Well I'll explain why.. Originally, I came here to get my big dent fixed. That part only took a week so no big deal. Then I decided to also get the large scratch on my quarter panel fixed. David gave me a sweet deal and took a couple hundred off to get it fixed. So I said okay let's do it! Everything went downhill from there... David said my car would probably be finished next week. So I planned accordingly to my busy schedule. I also asked him to see if there are any other very noticeable damages anywhere else on the car that could also be fixed. I asked him to call me back next week about that, but he never called back. So the following week (week 2) I called on Tuesday, and Brent said my car would be finished earliest on Friday that same week but most likely will be finished next week. So the same week I called on Friday to get an update. I called probably a dozen times and wondered why no one was picking up the phone. I got a little frustrated and decided to drive up there and little did I know, they were closed that day. The following Monday, I called again to see if I can get an update. They explained to me that they went to a car show on Friday. Okay that's cool, but why tell me my car might be done on Friday when you're going to attend an event? It doesn't make sense, so I wasted my time and gas (borrowing a large truck) to drive from North Park to Miramar. So anyways, they said my car would be done sometime this week (week 3). I didn't even give them a call back until Thursday. I talked to Richard that day and said they would work overtime to finish my car and that I could swing by around 6 - 6:30pm. So I drove to Miramar around 6pm and right before I turned on the street, I got a phone call from him. He says they won't be able to get it finished that day and they'll work on it tomorrow because they have other priority projects going on. By that time I was really pist off because I wasted my time and gas driving up to Miramar. Now it's going to take me an hour or more to get home due to southbound traffic. That's terrible communication to your customers. He could have at least called me earlier to tell me that my car won't be finished before I drive up there on the time he told me to arrive. The following day, I finally got my car back. I noticed that they didn't clean the car and was still dirty after they buffered it. They explained to me that the reason why my car took so long is because they were prepping up for a car show coming up soon somewhere in LA. Okay cool I get it, but luckily I was borrowing a beater truck from someone else instead of having a rental. It would have been a pain in the ass to have to keep asking the rental car company to extend the days for the rental car if I went that route. It would have been better if someone would have told me that my car will take several weeks to finish due to priority projects that need to be finished. That's really all that needed to be said, and I would've been totally okay with it so that way I can schedule accordingly. The work they did on my car was very good. The guys who work here are nice and honest. I got a good deal on my quarter panel. I'm not sure if I would come back though. I really want to like this place, but the service I received was unforgiving. If I do come back to get work done on my car, I won't expect anything to be done on time and will try to have a more flexible schedule. read more

I was sick a few months ago and was in the hospital. I came out and saw they hit my baby when it was parked. After the insurance gave me a check to get it fixed; I took it to 2M because I know they do the best work in town for a good price. I dropped off my M3 pieces that needed to be painted on Monday night at 5pm. Richard was the one painting my car and they told me it would be done around Friday. San Diego has a huge storm and it wasn't ready then. I called everyday to check the status. On Tuesday the following week my baby's parts were painted and ready to be installed. At first, inside the garage the paint didn't seem to match that well. It looked a lot lighter to me. Once they put it in the sun I was in shock. The paint was the best I have ever seen! The metallic flake of my titanium silver looked creamier and shiner than brand new. I soon got sad again because now I needed to paint the whole car. The amount of detail put into this paint job and TLC made this my permanent shop in San Diego. They also went the extra mile and touched up some bad spots on my exterior. Richard and David are master craftsmen. I feel like I should have paid more for the work I received. I'm now ready to put my sexy E46 M3 in cleanest car competitions. Took awhile to get my rotors and pads ordered. They're a little vague on appointment times which is understandable based on all the flakes in San Diego. I showed up with an unconfirmed appointment and they couldn't work on my car. Brent accomodated me by sending my car to another shop for the brake job. I got a great deal on my rotors and pads so I'm not complaining. Good group of guys with a lot of no bs realistic ideas. I will definitely be back for more upgrades!
