This is a moderate in depth review of my experience with Auto Art Collision Specialist. So I got into an accident about 3 years ago that misaligned my vehicle's frame. I had taken in it to a collision repair center before but mentioned there was nothing wrong, however I knew something wasn't right because of how bad my car felt on the road and constant adjustment to the rear toe. I decided I'd try again with Auto Art Collision Specialist and they got it right! They measured and confirmed the misalignment on the frame, then pulled it back to place! Joel was very informative throughout the entire process, very communicative and the team there are indeed superb specialists when it comes to their profession. I needed an upper shock mount repaired on my car because I replaced my own shocks and overtightened the mounting bolts, snapping one bolt and allowing the remaining bolt to tear the stud out of the inner wheel well. I went from shop to shop and had everyone turn me down, claiming too much liability. I visited other body shops, Mechanic shops, and alignment shops and they were just giving me the runaround. I have a Prius. It has very low clearance resulting in damage to the area beneath the front bumper when pulling into some parking spaces due to the concrete car stops. This was NOT an insurance claim. I took my car in and the staff were wonderful. The manager, Greg Barrera, went out of his way to help me. They gave me an estimate and once the work was done the cost was less. How often does that happen? Apparently my car didn't need one of the parts replaced. I also talked with them about repairing my two window quarter panel decorative covers. They did the job for a really inexpensive amount. The job makes my 2017 Prius look brand new. Auto Art will not let you pay for your repair by a personal check for over $ 250 and for the (inevitably) greater amount remaining, charges you an additional 3+ percent of the remaining balance for using a charge card in addition to the somewhat pricy cost of the repair. In addition, I felt that the quality of their repair work was merely adequate in comparison to other shops I have used as, after their work was completed you can still tell my vehicle door had been damaged. It is better, but not as good as it should have been as compared with other repairs I have had over the years. Overall, I am less than completely happy with their services. Man, usually you have to choose price or service, this place has BOTH. From the minute I called in, until I saw my car, awesome awesome service. Melanie was my point of contact the whole time. You would be an idiot to take your car anywhere else. Melanie was extremely kind and on top of everything. I quoted 3 shops, they were the most competitive which made me a little bit nervous about the quality of the work. I appreciate your time and looking at the file. Although, I would advise you speak to the gentlemen who helped me. I did request a quote for a replacement drivers side mirror but as you stated I decided not to have it replaced. I was called before the drivers side mirror was removed and given a quote for replacement costs. It was a high amount since the only "damage" to the drivers side mirror was condensation in the directional "glass". Your detailed notes of previous damage at time of vehicle drop off should reflect this. I told the gentleman not to go forward with any work that was not part of the accident; except for the oil change. At a later date I was called and advised that the vehicle was ready but the wrong mirror was ordered and replaced and that I had the option to pick up the vehicle and come back to get the right part replaced at a later date. All of which I stated in my original review. As stated, I refused the offer and decided to leave the vehicle to have the correct part replaced. At time of final pick up the drivers side mirror had additional damage that was not there at time of drop off. The gentleman had to buff out transferred paint on the mirror and told me that he'd call me back later the following business week. Well no call to date and it's late March. Your response insinuates that the drivers side mirror damage was existing at time of initial drop off and that the removal of the drivers side mirror was at my request. Which is the complete opposite of what happened. Which is what prompted me to write this review to help future customers. Again I suggest, you speak to the gentlemen that helped me and get the facts or call the adjuster on the claim. All of this was documented by AAA as I had my adjuster call in and speak to your employee in order to work on getting the correct part replaced. Blaming the customer for a mistake made by your shop is not only bad business but speaks volumes towards your ethics. Which is why I have delayed in following up. I look forward to your call so that we may discuss the matter. read more
