I found Centric Auto Repair through the RepairPal site after feeling like I was paying a premium at a shop on the 101 in Encinitas. I have a 2015 GMC Acadia, and Centric's good reviews and special offers pushed me to give them a try. From the start, they were very clear about pricing, sent everything in writing, and answered all my questions. They even helped me find ways to cut costs, which I really appreciated! This was right around Thanksgiving, and I needed my car back to pick up my parents from the airport before the long weekend. Even though the repairs ended up being more extensive than originally thought, they got it done on time. I love that they communicate via text - so convenient! Centric has great communication, extremely transparent, and took care of all of my needs and actually went above and beyond during my service. They did a full inspection with pictures and answered all questions and concerns that I had. To be honest and off track a bit, this week has been rough and all over the place for me in general and it may sound silly but brining in my car for an oil change might have been what I needed to feel a little better lol. It's a couple less things to worry about now. They are super friendly, knowledgeable and overall the best. They got my car done in a timely manner, actually sooner than what was expected for a last minute repair on top of my oil change and I feel that they charge fairly. My Toyota Prius has lasted me 14 years on its batteries and totes a hefty 200K + miles and she's still going strong. BUT, as of late, I believe this colder weather has now drained what's left and I needed to get my batteries replaced ASAP. After doing a lot of research in the area, I found CENTRIC AUTO REPAIR and I decided to trust them with my baby. CENTRIC AUTO REPAIR also contains HYBRID BATTERY REPAIR TOYOTA and they are both located within the same building in San Marcos. The map directions to their location was very direct and although they have very limited parking directly in front of their office, there is plenty of free parking space in their lot towards the back. Customer service is excellent and I was greeted by Victor. He was very knowledgeable and more importantly, came across very genuine (not like he was trying to upsell me on any services). Victor was very direct with what needed to be done to my car and what the cost would be. Originally, he said that I could just leave the vehicle with the shop & they could return it in a a few days. With all the crazy rain coming and my work situation, that couldn't work for me. I explained that I needed the work done in 1 day. Victor left to speak to his staff and was able to have me leave my car to get repaired for the next day! Even better, he contacted ENTERPRISE CAR RENTALS, next door to them, and was able to arrange a rental vehicle to me that same day! The service is above and beyond what I'd expected and their pricing was extremely great! I also appreciate that they have complimentary drinks, snacks & clean bathroom for their clients. Had a great experience with CENTRIC AUTO REPAIR and I highly recommend them. Side note: Be patient with them if you don't get a response on the phone. They only had 1 staff up front. I had better luck just driving to them and walking in. A minor inconvenience for such great service. read more

BEWARE: Please read this review as well as view the videos and receipts for proof of fraud on how Victor runs his business. I hope that this review will save you the headache from coming to Centric as well as save you tons of money- Go somewhere else but here for any auto repair needs. We came to Victor in May as both our Acura and Lexus did not have AC. It was hot outside, so we didn't do research, we saw the 5 stars review and came. Victor was very nice and the initial experience was good as they provide snacks, dinners and even a free car rental (however, you realize later that all that you are paying back through "hidden fees by double or triple charging you for parts). Victor was able to take our Lexus in right away and took 2 days to fix it. Then he took our Acura and took 2 days to fix the AC. We paid on Friday and went home. During the weekend when we drove our Lexus it began to make such a scary noise (video below) that it's never made before. I recorded my concern and texted it to Victor. Then, when we tried our Acura, it sounded like it was dying. So I sent that text to Victor as well (see video below). On Monday, Victor told us to bring it in. This is when I became suspicious that Victor and his team had no idea what they were doing and their "snacks, good customer service initially, and the "free" rental" may be a cover up to draw people in. That suspicion was confirmed when Victor told me that the "scary noise in my Lexus was because I had to many items in my glove compartment, so we removed all the items. The scary noise was still there. He then took it back again to check and came back to say, it was the AC mode that I had it on and that I needed to keep it as a certain mode to avoid the noise, I told him that's weird and for me to pay a total of $2,826.36...I should have a fixed AC. But I gave it a try and drove it around the block and still was making noise. I came back the 3rd time and this time, he said it was the left side and that it was going to cost him an additional $1100 to fix the issue. That's when I told him to not touch my car and I left to go to another dealership to review my invoice and ask for a second opinion. I was told that I was tripled charged for many parts that were already included and it was beyond price gouging that they've ever seen in their career and that I should report Victor and Centric to the BAR. I went back to Victor to give him an opportunity to do the right thing because honestly my husband and I are both working professionals and we do not have time nor want to spend our energy going through a BAR complaint or small claims court. Centric refused to meet us in the middle or fixed the issues and stated their price is based on the "3 years warranty included" So we completely let it go and decided to move on with our lives. It is now August, not even 3 months after Centric "fixed" my AC in my Acura and DOESN'T WORK AT ALL now. Apart of Centric's promotion is they pride themselves on including 1-3 years warranty based on the tier you choose. So we brought back our Acura that has a 3 year on the AC warranty, and was told that they will check it and fix it for FREE IF it's a warranty issue. In other word, if the issue is what they "fixed". If not, they charge a $154 for the check then the cost for whatever else. Seeing how UNTRUSTWORTHY centric is, we decided to not utilize the warranty with them because we are scared they will mess with our car and will "make up some reason that the problem isn't warranty". Centric and Victor has lost our complete trust and we hope that this review will help everyone thinking about doing business with Victor or Centric. Please learn from our mistakes as allowing Centric to work on our cars was the biggest mistake that have cost my family almost $5000 total. read more
