Just moved to Nevada and had to get our permit - which meant the 8-hour state mandated class. The hubby and I both signed up at 2nd Amendment. As gun owners, and permitted in a few states previously, we expected to be bored out of our minds - but instead, we both enjoyed our classes, and walked out with quite a bit of new information. So - freshly permitted and legal to boot - we decided to take a few more classes with the 2A team. So far - we have taken Pistol 1 and Pistol 2, and are scheduled for Long Guns next. Each class has been a wealth of new info, excellent instruction methods and focus on the foundational practices of good habits and discipline. Both Travis and Josh are very knowledgeable, but even better - they are both excellent at presenting that knowledge in a way it can be understood and absorbed. I've been a gun owner for a number of years, taken numerous classes in the past (especially when grandkids are in town) and until Josh and Travis got a hold of me - I knew next to nothing. I know I am still beginner level, but strongly believe that training with this team has me on a path to strengthen my skills, enabling me to not only enjoy shooting activities, but to be able to defend myself and my loved ones if it's ever necessary. I really like this store. All of the staff are very professional and ready to help the customers. I stopped in with my son to pick up a transfer and my first purchase with my newly acquired CCW. I handed them my I.D. as well as my CCW and the whole process only took about 15 minutes. During that time my son had several questions about several firearms and they were very accommodating in helping the young man out. I was so excited at my first CCW purchase as me and my son departed the store. I was making a quick exit to get home and really go over my latest purchase. As we reached our car the salesman ran out of the store and handed me my I.D. and CCW that I had left behind. These guys really go that extra mile. I've never shot a gun before and quite frankly the idea of even holding a gun made me nervous. Wanting to get over my fear and get used to even touching a gun, I went with my husband to another gun store where he bought his gun from and had a horrible experience. That experience alone completely ruined wanting to step foot into another one until today. After researching a handful of stores near me I came across 2nd Amendment Gun Shop and decided to go in. We were immediately greeted by Juan and Tyler, something neither my husband nor I experienced at other gun shops. I shared my experience with Juan and when I said I've never shot a gun before he immediately provided me with a flyer for a women only shooting program. Juan had me try multiple guns and showed me how to hold it correctly and handle the gun by removing the magazine and cocking it. Once Tyler was done with his customer he also shared his expertise and advice for selecting a weapon and spoke with my husband while he tried various guns as well. While I entered the store extremely apprehensive, I left feeling confident and excited. I can't wait to get my gun from there and I now know exactly where I'll be making all of my gun related purchases from now. 2ND AMENDMENT PAHRUMP NV ROUNDS FIRED- 7,000 @ 550-600 rounds per week for 14 weeks. Thank you to Travis & Josh. I have been doing Executive Protection for a while now on the private side. I needed a "PILB" Armed Guard" card for the state of Nv because I went to a public company. I trained with these 2 guys for a couple months. It is not just the shooting but also the "Legal" side of things that is mandatory to know. ACTIVE SHOOTER situations that keep your clients friends and family safe. Outside of the box type of mind set Is a must. Just because you have a weapon does not mean you are safe!! Just because you have a CCW does not mean you are safe!! I've had a FFL transfer done (from GunBroker) and attended 2A's CCW Course (taught by Kristine). This is now my LGS. Simply put, this veteran-owned business is the place to go. I would recommend taking their CCW course if within your means (~$250 in total for the license and dealing with Metro) in order to skip the $25 background check fee required by Nevada law. Kristine taught my class and was nothing but professional, friendly, open to questions, and informative when responding to those questions. Absolutely trash. I had a gun transferred their from an on-line purchase. The crew could not find my order. Three of them searched their back room for the order that had been delivered by FedEx that same day. When the did find it their excuse was the papeará fell off of the shipments. They then could not find my previous shipment sent there by the seller that had arrived a few days earlier. They tried to convince me it had been shipped to my home. However, after playing the voice mail they sent me, they were able to find it. My gripe is that while they clerk was inputting my information in the background check he found the time to ridicule my adult son who made a comment on a type of ammo. Since no joke was made the question was sincere. I can only imagine the clerk was laughing AT my son. That was very off-putting and also this was the very last time I will step foot in this store. read more

I hate to leave a negative review on a fellow patriotic business but here it is. I bought a red dot for my AR pistol 6 days ago. Unfortunately, I bought one that is for a handgun, that isn't practical for my AR pistol. I tried to return it today but was told I need the receipt, which I unfortunately lost. I explained that I paid with my ATM card and can prove the purchase. Guy refused. Being a combat sports athlete my entire life as well as a modern rifle hunter, I decided that in my area of residence, it would be nice for my fiance and I to have something in a last resort scenario so after researching online, I decided to buy 2 handguns from this store. I am not a gun enthusiast, nor do I care about the form or craftsmanship of the handguns I chose. I needed 2 guns that could empty a mag on a bad guy, thats it. I chose two entry level pistols; A .380 and a 9mm for my fiance who was familiar with these guns from her time in active duty. I brought in cash for both. They didnt have them there. The guy then asked why I would buy these, to which I told him, I need something for absolutely the last resort, and hope to never have to use them. He replied, "At this price range, you are better off getting a knife or a rock. How much is your life worth?" My first thought was, well, you take a rock, and I will take this 9mm and if we square up, I wonder if you would have the same confidence in that statement. I understand working on commission, but is this the best way to approach gun sales? We left. The old military guy who was also in there was informative and helpful, I will give him credit. I understand how these guys can get. Guns are their lives, their livelyhood, their hobby. For them its a lifestyle and they would not be caught dead with an entry level firearm. Not everyone is like that. Maybe in the future, a better approach would be to make the customer feel valued for choosing 2nd Amendment weapons to protect their life rather than project an elitist route of thinking. I will purchase our guns somewhere else, but I do wish them well. Hopefully they can read this and maybe take a slightly different approach.
