Cleanest thrift store I have ever been to. I can tell that they don't take just any donations but they actually filter through and keep/sell QUALITY items. I came in this past week and there were associates all over the floor organizing clothes. Also doesn't have a weird smell in there which I appreciate. Def will be back. read more

I'm seconding the other poster who said it was the cleanest thrift store they've ever been to. What a pleasant shopping experience! It's a huge, bright, clean store with tons of things to look at. The prices are pretty good - much better than any Salvation Army I've been to in the area. I'd say probably on par with Goodwill. I ended up spending a little over an hour there today, and picked up some great finds for me and my sister. Dresses, shirts, and even a funky 90s blazer that I loved. I also bought my first-ever pair of shoes from a thrift store here! I have big feet (size 11 women's) and I found SEVERAL pairs of shoes in my size, which doesn't even happen at a TJ Maxx. And the shoes are either new or hardly used, in my opinion. I didn't really check out their housewares that much, but they have a LOT of shelves of it! And their electronics section isn't more than ~15 years old. There was actually a suuuuper nice espresso machine that I eyed for a while. All in all, my new favorite thrift store in the area! I'll definitely be going back in a couple weeks, and they'll hopefully have new stock in for me to browse through. So glad I found this place! read more

Okay, so I've spoke to a few managers and asked about why they take half off items and they gave me the run around however, since I've gone back I found more half off items on the racks. I think with the upper management being in the store and running it they've tightened up. Currently my go to and favorite thrift store. read more

I almost hate to give a glowing review as I don't want to spread more awareness to this place, but they deserve it, so here goes. Upon first walking in, WOW at the massive library on the left! I think I spent 30 minutes just there yesterday, looking over all of the neatly arranged and categorized books and games. Then when I headed over to the housewares section, I was blown away. At that point, I needed a shopping cart to help with the items I had been carrying as they were multiplying. I then realized why many other shoppers there were doing the same - the secret must be out. A new art set? check. Antique silver and copper serving ware? check. A microscope in original boxed packaging? check. Working flashlights with working batteries inside for $2? check. And tools...entire cordless drill sets for $20, hacksaws, tool kits, etc...this place is awesome!! I will plan to come back often to see what other new treasures they have. This was the cleanest thrift store I've ever visited. When I walked in I could tell right away this was a location I wouldn't have a problem talking deep breaths in (I've been to a lot of dusty thrift stores). The set up of this 2nd avenue was pretty impressive. I've been to two other 2nd avenue stores in MD and the organization of this one is the best. The clothes were organized nicely and there was a large selection of everything. The clothes on the racks looked pretty good and I didn't come across anything that made me question why they would put it on the floor to sell. I saw quite a few items with tags and tons of brand names. I saw brands like Paige, AG, and Seven for All Mankind in the jeans section. They also have plenty of dressing rooms. Some of the prices were a bit high and comparable to new items in Ross and Marshall's stores. For that reason I walked away from a few things I saw. I couldn't believe how nice the toy, books, and records section looked. Hopefully the store will stay like this and other thrift stores will take note on how the stores should be organized. read more

One of the best thrift stores. Do check it out when they have their 50% off sales. Super organized, clean, and I always find treasure here. Have found real leather bags, silk curtains, vintage home decor stuff, quality branded jeans (Blank NYC, Seven, Ralph Lauren, etc.). I decorated/stocked my home with treasures I've found here. I happily make the drive from DC to come here. read more

I don't know why I didn't know about this amazing store, it's literally a warehouse of awesomeness sprinkled with cheap prices. It's so perfectly organized, clean and there's an endless selection of items to choose from. I just happened to be driving down Richmond highway and my "thrift store" radar went off and I made a sharp U-turn to beeline my fanny right on in here. This will be my go to place to stock up on work clothes, cardigans and everything else I can imagine under the sun. I would highly recommend but don't tell to many people lol!! read more

I have been going to this thrift store for quite some time and since the old manager left, the prices have gone up tremendously. They do not accept returns or store credit on electronics so beware of buying anything that takes batteries or a plug. Bought a $50 train set that was taped up in a bin. Got it home and the battery compartment was so corroded that there was no way to fix it. They do not check these things. Please 2nd Ave corporate office do something about the prices. Walmart is getting much cheaper. read more

Used to love this store but prices have really climbed. Children's clothing prices are about the same for used as you pay for new at Carter's or the Mall. There used to be great deals on kids shoes and household items, but those days are gone. My girlfriends complained that prices had really jumped, but I didn't believe it until I was there for the "50% off" Veterans Day sale. No real deals to be had, just mobscene shopping and a lot of overpriced stuff. Really sad to see this place go, but I likely won't be back anytime soon. This location is relatively new. There is a large selection of mostly clothing and shoes. There are also housewares like toasters, mixers, lamps, dishes, silverware, and so forth. There is also some electronics like VCRs, DVD players, stereo components, and so forth. The prices are moderate and comparable to the area Goodwills. You need to come by once a week or so, since the merchandise turns over on a regular basis. There is a limited selection of outdoor items and sports gear. Outdoor items of good quality tend to move quickly. If you see something good, you need to snag it right away, since it won't be there if you come back next week. There is a very good selection of shoes here. The selection of paintings is very good. There is a very large selection of bedding items such as duvets and pillows in good condition. There is a modest selection of tools. These tend to move fast so you need to snag something right away if you see something good. The store is very large. it looks like it may have been a grocery store in the past. There is modest selection of books and records. The place is clean and well maintained, and the staff is friendly. Let's be honest, Over the past year the quality has gone down and the prices have gone way up. I used to spend money here weekly and find all sorts of neat items. Now it's an overpriced thrift store and I haven't found much. Not worth the trip unless you like to pay retail prices for used items. read more

I absolutely love this store but it has one gigantic problem: sizes are NEVER in the right place. There are childs clothes mixed in with adult, smalls in with plus, etc., and it takes three times longer to shop...and it's also very frustrating. I understand they are staffed by people who use english as a second language but having clothing organized by size is a fundamental aspect of retail clothes shopping. Clothing in the right places is basic stuff in retail; the store manager needs to correct this problem asap. Even first thing in the morning it's like this so it can't all be because shoppers move clothing around. It's no fun shopping when everything's in chaos. Please train your staff correctly! read more

Very clean and well organized. I hope it stays this way! I've been there twice and found the staff very friendly. I do wonder about their pricing. Although I found some items very reasonably priced other items are WAY over priced for second hand stuff. I've noticed this about their sister store Village Thrift in Woodbridge as well. I love coming to 2nd avenue to look for finds. There is a large selection of awesome items. Clothing is neatly hung and organized very well throughout the store. Other areas of the store are neatly organized as well, with a wide assortment of finds!!! All employees I have approached for help have been pleasant and friendly. The toy section can become quite a mess but that is mostly in part because parents allow their children to run freely. The kids are tearing into toys, opening boxes and the bags that hang on hooks. Then leave the toys wherever they may fall. And this leads to why I only gave 4 stars. Today I went in for the 50% off sale. The moment I walked into the store it was announced the toy section so it could be cleaned up. I figured no problem, would go over to the other side of the store and work my way back to the other side. After approx 1 hour in the store, the toy section was still closed. It had been cleaned up, and there were 2-3 employees who were just wandering around in the area, talking among themselves but were not opening the area back up. I asked who I assumed was a manager, who told me they would be opening it shortly. After waiting close to 30 minutes, I gave up and left. It is frustrating because I had wanted to check the toy area for things I could use for my kids and daycare. Especially on a day when there is a 50% off sale. Disappointing to say the least. read more

I really am excited that this store opened up. It is a huge space, bright and it is easy to move around, unlike a lot of other thrift stores. It has shopping carts and a lot of start, comparably to other thrift stores. I have found good things to use for craft projects and even some really good clothes for all members of the family. The biggest, cleanest thrift store I've ever seen. They even have a large walled off play area to either test out toys or distract kids while shopping. The prices here are decent and the selection is amazing (over a dozen racks of jeans alone). The place replaced a run-down grocery store four months ago and is a huge improvement. Oddly, the shopping plaza has three thrift stores, but this is definitely the best of the three. read more

Every visit has been pleasurable, the store is well organized, neat and most importantly clean. The only problem that I see is that the shoes are not that organized. It is hard to find your size because they are mixed in together. This could be due to customers but I doubt it because every visit it is the same way. Other than that minor detail the store is awesome and they offer 50% off Sunday, Monday and Thursday. Good luck with them telling you the colors early. Great store. read more
