For the prices they charge and low-quality / discontinued fabric, this is far from an upscale fabric / upholstery atelier. The customer service is worse than the product and presentation. Upon walking in, no one greeted me, despite the fact that two employees were chatting at the central desk near the door. I found my way to the back area with the upholstery fabric. I wandered around a bit looking at the myriad sample decks. Because there was no information or pricing on anything, I returned and waited for the woman at the central desk to finish her chit-chat before acknowledging me. She apologized for being short-staffed (so probably not a good time to stand around and chat.) Upon arriving back in the upholstery fabric area, I began explaining my project and said I was seeking fabric in the $30-40/yard range. She abruptly cut me off and said sharply, "Don't have it." I explained I was able to find quite a few options online and know they exist in this range elsewhere and she snapped, "Then go online." I continued the conversation forward by describing the overall dimensions of the cushion seating bench and she again cut me off with a sharp-toned "How many yards?" as if I didn't know how to plan a cushion (or add and multiply). I bluntly replied, "Don't be short with me. I've been sewing for 30 years." I never understand why so-called "experts" (sales clerks) feel the need to be defensive and condescending rather than patient and helpful. There are a million questions she SHOULD have asked before this last one: desired quality, use, color, pattern, touch, durability, etc. Once we discussed details a bit more, she said, "All we have in the $30 range is cotton." If you had something in that range, why didn't you say so in the first place . . . other than trying to steer me into a higher price? When she showed me the swatches, I asked for the specific pricing as nothing was labeled. She replied with, "Can you imagine if we had to price everything individually?" At the end of my rope with her, I simply stated, "Yeah, you would actually have to work." I then turned and walked out. Too bad she couldn't have been attentive, pleasant, and helpful. Had she treated me with respect and courtesy, she would have made nice sale and new customer. Instead, she earned the store yet another 1-star rating on Yelp.

The team here is so kind, respectful, and welcoming every single time I walk in. They work fast and the quality of their work is always flawless. You can really tell how hardworking and dedicated they are to making sure every customer leaves happy. I always feel treated with care and respect, and that means so much to me. I honestly won't go anywhere else, this is the only place I'll ever bring my clothes/dresses. Jessica is always extremely helpful and so genuine, she does her work with her heart. I've always felt so nervous about certain concerns I have and the team has always comforted me. I highly recommend this small business!

So I walked into The Fabric Boutique at 4pm, a day before the wedding, sobbing. The owner was so sweet and made me feel so much better. She chose a dress for me that would match the bridal party and it fit me like a glove. Because of this emergency situation, she had her seamstresses stop other alterations so they can hem my dress, which I truly appreciated so so much! I don't know what I would do without her help or her team!!!! I recommend her 1000x! I stopped by 5 other shops/boutiques in the area and they all failed me, I should've stopped at The Fabric Boutique first. I highly recommend! You will be taken care of if you come here. Thanks for all of your help, will never forget it!

It seems Fabricland doesn't care about the upkeep of their stores and to keep it uniform with other locations, which the closest one is London. Walking in, it looks like you're walking into a cluttered mess. They have carts you can use to put the bolt of fabric, but the wheels have been taken off and you're dragging it across the store, which is kind of archaic. Where are the shopping carts, because bolts are heavy and dragging them around in a measly small cart can be ridiculous. The fabric selection, which is why I was in was very bleak and no selection of nice ones at all. No variety or much colours, and everything was scattered so I wasn't sure where to go as to find something I liked. They had a sale area of $5 a metre, which is still pretty expensive, I was looking with my mom because this is her thing, and she wasn't very impressed. She had a member card, a coupon from online and a gift card, and it was still a lot of money for what she picked out, which wasn't a lot. The woman who cut her fabric was great, but the rest of the staff seemed bleak and bored of being there. The cash register was ancient in it's own way and having to make any changes seems difficult. Fabricland needs to up it's game if it wants to stay in the business, I see other small fabric stores popping up all over the place. Plus, since we're so close to the states here in Windsor, Joann Fabrics is pretty easy to drive to, a small hop, skip and a jump across the boarder for us Windsorites
