The service was great! We have eaten here before and had very good food. This time (11/3/2025) the food was not so great. The egg drop soup was way, way too salty and the tomato soup was a tiny bit too salty. We ordered the broiled halibut. Portions were a bit small, slightly over cooked, and lacked flavor. The fish was supposed to be seasoned with herb butter. I had a backed potato that was way over cooked, meaning the skin was very dark, nearly black. This restaurant was established in 1946. Also, this was my 1st time here. We parked across the road from the restaurant. The manager of the roller-skating rink suggested we eat here. After her adult roller-skating night this Louisiana girl was hungry. What a great experience the server was very knowledgeable. The restaurants floor plan starts with a full bar. Then, transitions into the Slot Machine Lounge. Pretty Neat! Then the dining area was huge with many tables, booths, private party areas, and the second bar. The prize piece was in the center of the room "the grill"! The drinks, food, location, and never-ending conversation was perfect! *Also, I can't believe a huge party sat at the last minute. Usually, 3D is good. Tonight, not so much. Grill was good, but the counters were a sloppy mess. Cajun chicken Alfredo had zero flavor or spice. My husband took me here to try some Mongolian Grill. I loved the concept that you can serve yourself! Plus, it's an all-you-can eat :) Overall, everything tasted delicious! All the veggies and meat are fresh. The meat is frozen, so it doesn't go bad when sitting out. I got the beef, and added a variety of veggies. You can also make your own sauce. I probably need to experiment more, but my sauces weren't as good as my husband's. I also really enjoyed watching the cook use the large cooking area to make our dish :) Overall, price is great and service is great! Look forward to coming back next time! read more

The place is outdated and the food is subpar. Took my husband here for Father's Day and got the Mongolian - BIG mistake. The noodles were over cooked, the guy burned the meat, it was just a mess. To top that off the servers were not very friendly and the patrons either. They all reacted like they had never laid eyes on a person of color before. News flash, you have a whole military base in your town! Maybe if we had on our uniforms you all would have been different...ridiculous! We eat too! Came back to 3D for the first time in 15 years since I moved away. Was disappointed that the menu has changed from Chinese to a Mongolian Grill. Having said that, it wasnt too bad. It was a Friday night and they only had 1 person on the grill so service was slow. Ive been to quite a few Mongolian grills and this one has less choices for food items and sauces. Stopped by this gem while on a work assignment in Great Falls Montana. The waitress suggested that I try the spaghetti and meat sauce. It was served with a side of grilled garlic toast. I wish I could leave zero stars for this dump! The carpets are caked with food and what ever else could possibly be spilt on them. The tiles are also extremely dirty and caked with oils and foods. The bathrooms are extremely dirty and don't have dividers hand soap and very little toilet paper. The food is tasteless at best. The waitress made sure to tell us how expensive the food was but neglected to tell us we couldn't take it home. Below is a picture of the wasted food that had to be thrown away because this establishment refuses to let the paying customers take their food home. For the type of restaurant I give it a 4 Star because it's hard to really see good places in great falls. Read the history note on the back of the menu, this place truly is a landmark for great falls. We had the appetizer platter. The hand cut portobello mushrooms where fresh and great tasting. The cheese sticks actually had melted cheese in them unlike most restaurants. We both had the Mongolian bar. The cook was more than happy to walk us through the choices and waited until we where done with our appetizer to start which was nice. We went later in the evening the place was kinda empty. I don't have a gripe about the food. However, I called to see if I could get food delivered to my Mother and Step Dad, since my Mom had a stroke. They are exhausted and it's hard to leave the house. I check to see if they used Door Dash for delivery. The lady on the phone said, no we don't. I checked with my Mom and Step Dad who are 82 and 84, my Step Dad said he would pick up the food. So I call back to place my order and I can hear a woman in the background laughing and talking about my call previously asking for delivery. She was laughing and mocking me, it was a terrible feeling to be trying to do something nice for my parents who are in a hard spot in their lives AND who are almost lifetime customers of this restaurant. I would suggest a kinder more thoughtful and less gossiping way of treating customers. It's left me with a terrible feeling about the people working at this restaurant or at least this woman. I hope they take heed of how they treat other people and do not gossip about your customers. read more

I don't understand it. I've actually heard several people say they like this place. I've been there a couple of times and thought it was consistently nasty. And what's up with the set up? They claim to specialize in Italian, Mongolian BBQ, and Thai. You can find better (even in Great Falls) without looking hard. Wow! This was the most bizarre dining experience of my life. 3-D (drinking, dining, dancing) has an incredible local history. I think the only reason it's still in business is because of the geriatric population who come back to relive memories from when it was an incredible hot spot. Where to begin: Soups - we had cremed asparagus and chicken bisque. At least, that is what we ordered. In reality the rue on the creme asparagus was completely disgusting. You could see the flour, it was a big glob with sickeningly soft asparagus. The Chicken bisque - a total mess. I don't even know what it was. Salad - it had 1 mini carrot, a curved slice of celery, and boxed croutons. That is not a salad! I don't think they could have put in any less effort than that. Not even a peice of tomato! Dinner - roll was dry, the mashed potatos were DROWNING in butter. The entree, for me, pork chops with a demiglaze of cranberry sauce. Out dated, yes, BUT, here is when things got flat out weird... IT WAS THE BEST PORKCHOP OF MY ENTIRE LIFE! It was tender, juicy, cooked to perfection. For what we paid, I would have been happy to have skipped everything else and just ate the 2 pork chops. I'm sad to say this because it has such an incredible history, but I WILL NEVER eat here again. They have a mongolian grill which just seemed offensive to me! This was a horrible recommendation. We came in last night, 12/27/16, happy that at least one restaurant was open passed 9pm. We had the Mongolian Grill with soup and ordered the BBQ pork as an appetizer. When we got the appetizer it was cold, sliced BBQ pork, the kind you find chopped up in fried rice. We were expecting something way different since it was $12! Finally we picked out our ingredients for the Mongolian Grill (which they don't let you take leftovers home). The grill was dirty and the sauces were watered down. The floor surrounding the grill was covered in grease and burnt food. We had bits of burned food and whatever else was on that grill, in our food. The soup was not good, it was overly salty and it was just disappointing. We spent over $45 for dinner for two there. Totally not worth it. I recommend spending dinner elsewhere. read more

I hadn't had a steak at 3D for years! My wife & a close friend of ours decided to go there because of the variety. I had a New York steak, it was cooked perfectly, was very tender & tasted great! I couldn't be more pleased! My wife had the Mongolian Grill which was excellent & our friend had a grilled hamburger steak which was also superb! This was my family's favorite "fancy" restaurant growing up. I've been here 20 + times and this is where my parents take me out when I come to visit them. I have very few complaints about this restaurant. Prices may be a little high, but it is nice to get both soup and salad with your meal. The Mongolian grill has always fascinated me and it is pretty good and surprising to find in Montana. Food and drinks are delicious. Atmosphere is a good; it's a little weird to be in a nice restaurant and have a Mongolian bbq right in the middle. The only gripe I have is service; I swear we have had the same waitress every time for dinner and she is not personable! But our order is always right so that's good. read more

This restaurant is as good as it gets when it comes to Italian Food. They have had decades of practice preparing these tasty delights. The lasanga is to die for. I used to travel to this town every 6 weeks in the mid 80's and I always made a point to eat there. I ended that career and stopped traveling. My wife always heard me raving about this food. 20 years went by before I got the opportunity to go back while at a dog show in Great Falls. My wife and I invited several friends to go along. I was worried that things might have changed since the restaurant had been passed down since my last visit. We walked into this old building that hadn't changed on the outside since Louis Armstrong had performed there. I was so very surprised by the changes to the interior. What a beautiful remodel. But what about the food? I ordered my favorite - Lasagna which is made from scratch and baked in boat dish. The wait was over. The waitress sat the dish down in front of me and it looked exactly like what I remembered from 20 years ago. I took one bite and thought that I had just died and was relieved of the pressures of everyday life. I was riding on Cloud 9. My wish had been fulfilled, the food tasted exactly like it had from days gone by. My wife broke out with excitement over the meal because it was the best lasagna that she had ever had. Now for the kicker, one of our guest that evening was full blooded italian. She shops in the italian market for food to prepare her own food. She normally doesn't eat in Italian restaurants for a good reason, but elected to tag along for the company. She order the Manacotti. After her second bite she dropped her fork, leaned over to me and told me that this was the best Manacotti she has ever ate in her life. Please don't tell my mother she proclaimed and asked for the owner / manager. When he arrived she politely thanked him for maintaining a true Italian Cuisine. They also serve an American and Asian Cuisine that they have served for decades with the same care as the Italian food. If you ever find yourself in Great Falls, Montana. Do yourself a favor and take in a night at the 3-D International. BTW - the 3D's stand for Dining, Drinking and Dancing. When this place opened they hosted the likes of Tommy Dorsey, Glenn Miller, Louis Armstrong and many others. They still have the photos on the wall to prove it. This one is a true gem! read more

I love the 3D I have been there many times the food is always good and the service is excellent. I usually get the grill or a cheeseburger, but everything is good especially the prime rib. You also get soup and salad with your meal. A lot of the pasta dishes are very large. I usually go there with my family, and I have also taken my girlfriend there a couple times it was actually her idea to go, so she likes it as well. read more

We were in Great Falls for a wedding this weekend and the rehearsal dinner was at this restaurant. The family asked us to pre order our meals because we were flying in from NY and would be late. We had a choice of four entrees - prawns, chicken alfredo, sirloin steak and salmon. We chose prawns. We wanted to know what the place was like so I went to Yelp and looked at the reviews. Not very good which made me nervous. So here is my assessment. agree that the place is in dire need of a good cleaning. The decor is not appealing, but I have found that unless it's a national chain restaurant the decor is not much of a priority in this city. But really who cares if the food is good. And it was. We had the prawns and they were delicious - lightly breaded, fried and fresh. I polled the people at our table asking each what they had. The steak was delicious as was the salmon. Do not order what they call a 20 oz. Ribeye on the menu. It is actually a 20 oz. Rib STEAK, that when all is said and done has about 12 oz. of large pieces of fat and bone. The salad was ok, the bleu cheese dressing was some nasty bleu cheese dressing out of a bottle with bleu cheese crumbles thrown on top. I ordered the wild rice with my so-called ribeye and got a pile of mush that was sopping wet underneath. I sent it back and asked for fries, which came out lukewarm with not even one grain of salt on them. What really made me furious was the price tag of just under 29 dollars. For a rib steak, tasteless fries, mediocre salad and bland cream of asparagus soup. Do yourself a favor... If you go here, stick to the Mongolian Grill. read more
