Neil and Ross Disney (a father-and-son team) visited our house to review and recommend various options, taking precise measurements for each window. We ultimately ordered roller blinds, honeycomb shades (including blackout), and SmartDrapes for over 30 windows of varying sizes. Additionally, we chose battery-operated shades for our living and dining rooms to achieve a clean, cordless look. The Disneys delivered and professionally installed all items on time and to our satisfaction. Subsequently, we ordered a few more honeycomb shades for additional windows. As mentioned, everything was completed on time and met our requirements. We were delighted with their work and would rate our customer service experience as 5 out of 5 stars. An accurate measure of any business is its after-sales service. In May 2024, nearly three years later, we encountered an issue with one of the honeycomb shades (one of the cells separated) and a malfunctioning battery for the power shades. On both occasions, a simple email to Budget Blinds initiated their customer service process. Thankfully, both items were covered by Budget Blinds' lifetime warranty for original owners. The Disneys promptly ordered the replacement items and professionally reinstalled them within days of our contact. They take their time, give advice, and try to work within your budget and your wants. They actually talked us out of getting a more expensive window treatment option and I am so glad we listened! We placed our order and they measured our windows. We received a discount for being repeat customers and a few other discounts here and there - which is always appreciated. We were quoted 6-7 weeks out but to our surprise our window treatments were ready in about 4 weeks. Bill was our installer and he was just as helpful and professional. He kept us in the loop on when he could come out and where he was the day of our install. A door wall and 6 bedroom windows only took about 45 minutes to install. I had black out blinds in the bedrooms installed and panel blinds in my living room a while ago…read more It was a couple that had brought me the swatches for the honeycomb style blackouts as well as the varieties of colors for the panels too. I picked out 5 track for the panels to have the blinds open up on each side. Once fully closed, they overlap nicely. While open they aren't exactly lined up on either ends. The blackout blinds had to be broken into 2 sections due to the height of the windows, they were 8 feet tall, the solid wasn't ideal but doable. The bigger section from the start would get stuck while trying to close to the ground and will often get stuck about 2-3 inches off the ground. The panels have to be carefully closed or they will bend and fold onto each other as they close over and pass the tracks. The right side must be closed over first and then the left. Sometimes I have to fix them so they don't bend as they go over the previous panels to nicely lay as planned. The panels are a bit more money but they look cool and give a nice shading, but not too much. All told, it was under $5k. The blackouts still leave gaps to the walls and soffits.
