He gave us an inside look at what goes into making exceptional wine, and I walked away with a completely different appreciation for the craft. He explained that every bottle is really a series of intentional decisions, beginning with the forests that produce the oak for the barrels, continuing through the vineyard, and ending with the countless choices a winemaker makes along the way. It was fascinating to realize that great wine isn't accidental. It's built through thousands of thoughtful decisions. The tasting itself was exceptional, the setting was beautiful, and the hospitality made us feel like welcomed guests rather than tourists. I left with some fantastic bottles, but more importantly, with a new appreciation for everything that happens before a bottle ever reaches the table.

This one was by far my favorite and I was glad we saved the best for last!!! I enjoyed the Sofia's Block Pinot noir so much, I purchased a bottle to take home and enjoy. The views are breathtaking. The wine is delicious and the owner is especially warm and welcoming. She really made the entire experience wonderful. Her dog is also on premise and great company, she is the sweetest thing. It is a smaller tasting area and can get full pretty quick. There is indoor and outdoor seating available. Prices are fair and they do have a wine club! I loved the peace and quiet while sipping my wine enjoying the beautiful surrounding landscape. It's tucked away but absolutely perfect! I will be back! Add this one to your list. It's worth the trip.

Some review called it claustrophobic but I think the dark imagery is part of a wine maker's M-O (like a cellar) Wine was good. They also serve you affogato or expresso at the end of your visit. What a great touch. The exterior view of the valley is spectacular. Everything you would want to see when you imagine wineries and wine making. (ps- this valley is famous for its Pinots)

It was almost time to close but Dean treated us like we were his first customers of the day. What I liked most about him was his attire...suspenders and a Lynyrd Skynyrd t-shirt topped off by a big bushy beard. Dean is a no-nonsense, be who you want to be kind of guy. He also had a Redneck Wine Glass sitting out on the shelf, which he washed out and let me drink from at my request. As I said there...the wine didn't quite open up like I had hoped in this mason jar glass. Funny, no? I will tell you that I couldn't get past his Pinot Blanc. My friend had been searching for a good Pinot Blanc to replace the one that was sold out at Four Graces, and boy did this one hit the spot! I liked it even better than Four Graces, so I bought a bottle while my friend took home an entire case. After my purchase, I felt a little saddened that summer was coming to an end soon, because it is the perfect "sit out on your deck in the sunshine" kind of wine. It is quite sweet, which is a huge bonus for me. Dean then took us into the room with the barrels and grabbed his wine thief so we could take a taste from two of them. We grabbed a picture with him, laughed a little (okay a lot) more, bought some wine and then went on our merry way. Kudos to Dean and his family for creating such a hospitable, comfortable wine tasting environment.

The property itself is stunning and they have a fantastic patio and inside area. Upon check in we were escorted inside the cave where a few tables and couches were waiting for us. We paired the food with our wine for little bites. We tried 5 different Pinot noirs from different areas on the property. It was so cool to see how different the wines tasted based on where the vines were grown on the property. Lovely experience here would absolutely go back
