Authentic southern Mexican cuisine! Specializing on one of Mexico's gifts to the world, the quesadilla. Tres Marias has an assortment of filler options to mix into your quesadillas. All of which are delicious.

Wow! Amazing food! This small place has amazing quesadillas! I had 2 and almost went back for more! Don't pass this one up!

Ahhhh! Brownsville just keeps getting better. Back in town, we decided to try 3 Marias out on a whim. We'd been eyeballing the place since our last trip but tonight was the night. We walked in and were greeted by a lovely woman (presumably the owner) who was working at one of the tables. She told us to seat ourselves and grabbed some menus. As she approached, she asked us if it was our first visit. We nodded as we sat down in the no-frills but very well decorated and comfortable table. She was wonderful. She introduced us to...not only the menu but to the history of the food, the regions from which they came and even went as far as to explain each dish. She made several suggestions which we took her up on and then went about her way. The food was simple. Beautifully seasoned and prepared and delicious. The ingredients spoke for themselves. The sauces that she brought out to compliment our meals were so good. So spicy and tasty. I do my best to reserve my 5s for those that are deserving and 3 Marias is deserving. We will be back probably before week's end. I already know I will be missing this place when we leave...

Great variety and options for quesadillas and tacos. Give them a try. Cost effective for any budget.

Cute little place and one of the best meals I've had in South Padre! Chicken mole with spicy pickled onions is outstanding. This the mole she makes for her sister's place SumoMaya in Scottsdale. all the items are available as flour or corn quesadilla. Or with their special corn meal empanada. everything is made when you order it, service is great. The pan de elote is the sweetest, moistest cornbread you'll ever had. It practically a cupcake My bill including drink was less than $10

First time trying this place out, didn't even know it existed. It's been there for 3 years! Their specialty is quesadillas, so try that. They have flour or fried corn tortilla options. I tried the desebrada, pork, and the picadillo options and wow. They were really good! I was impressed! I tried both flour and corn options- definitely love the fried corn tortilla option! It's a very small space but very cute. Prices are great ranging about 1-2 dollars each quesadilla. The rice and beans were ok- kind of bland. The quesadillas were the main even here so, definitely will be going again.

Food is great, tons of choices, low prices, with a bunch more vegetarian options than anywhere else in town. Service is great, too.

From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warmth and enthusiasm that set the tone for an exceptional evening. Let's talk about the food: the grilled octopus was nothing short of perfection--expertly charred on the outside, tender on the inside, and paired beautifully with fresh, vibrant microgreens. Every bite was a masterclass in balance and flavor, showcasing the kind of culinary skill that can only come from recipes passed down through generations. The authentic Mexican flavors here are deeply rooted in tradition, yet elevated with a modern touch. It's clear the chef-owner has honed their craft under Michelin-starred mentors. That level of expertise comes through in every dish--from the nuanced seasoning to the thoughtful plating. And then there's the drink: La Paloma de Mi Corazón--hands down one of the most refreshing, clean-tasting cocktails I've ever had. Bartender Benito is a true artist behind the bar, blending flavors with precision and passion. He absolutely rocked that drink! The customer service was exceptional throughout. Attentive without being overbearing, every staff member made us feel genuinely cared for. It's rare to find a restaurant where both the front and back of house operate in perfect harmony. Whether you're a local foodie or just passing through, this place is a must-visit. Authentic, elevated, and unforgettable. Can't wait to come back. The most important part is that if you ask for water you will get FIGI water because Brownsville water has contaminants that are EPA approved but in the long run not safe. The server was quick to take our drink order but not as quick to get it to us. There are less than a handful of options for vegetarians. Not many. Their homemade tortillas are really good though. I had the tortillas with a little bit of the cheese. We are a party of two. Husband said that the mollejas and the chicharrón en salsa were good. The margarita too. Cute place. Will probably not be back strictly on the few options for vegetarians. I would recommend it to others though. Friendly, courteous staff. Edit: My original Star review was four. I'm taking one Star from them after reviewing my bill at home. We did not get 10 tortillas de harina. We got the corn tortillas that came with the food that we ordered and five (not 10) flour tortillas additionally. Five dollars isn't much, the point is that they DID overcharge us and I didn't realize it, unfortunately, until two days later.
