Peppers were delicious but pricey for the serving of a dozen or so but hey, am I going to make them myself,no. Buy again, yes. Shrimp sauce was good. Blazin sauce was peppery and tasty. For the price a very good value for sushi you can trust is fresh and delivered by food truck hot to the door of your work.

My order consisted of 2 $1 grape leaves (or 6 for $5), a $4 calzone, a $2 guava puff pastry, and a ginger cookie. They take pride in sharing that no preservatives are used in any of their food. The mini calzone vs. the giant calzones other establishments offer is the perfect size for lunch. The dough was light with a flavorful sauce with an ample amount of filling and cheese. Today's options were pepperoni or meatball and the meatballs were well executed. My only "want" here is a small cup of sauce for dipping - maybe it's an option but did not ask. The grape leaves were filled with your usual seasoned rice and herbs with just the right amount of lemon. I was asked if I wanted them warmed but I declined so I could enjoy them cold. I wasn't overly thrilled with the ginger cookie. It was large but was on the soft side and I like cookies with a little bit of a snap. Flavor was okay and ginger was evident but overall it was average. The guava pastry was missing from my order today. While it would be obvious to complain about this, that is easily offset from the complimentary loaf - yes loaf - of bread that was given to me. On my way out, I let the co-owner know that I added their business to Yelp. She thanked me and then surprised me by running to me outside and giving me a loaf of bread. Completely unexpected but very much appreciated. The missing pastry can be attributed to the processes discussed in the following paragraph. My 4 star rating results from a 4.5 for the food and 3.5 for logistics. As they only soft-opened 2 days ago, there is definitely a process that needs to be ironed out. It appears the plan is for one person to take orders, one person to prepare and deliver those orders, and then kitchen staff. The line was about 5 or 6 deep when I left and there was a little disarray in how it was all being executed. Some quick fixes will be easy to do and I expect their food will carry them forward. As it is only their 3rd day, it's obvious that the word is getting out. I'll probably be back in about 30 days or so to enjoy their food again.

Yes, I'm talking about eating at the food truck called On the Fly. Calling it a food truck is in this number, I'm not sure what you would call. It is fabulous. Now let's start off with the negatives, parking is not as easy as it is for most lunch places, but it's really not that bad if you know what you're doing. There are plenty of slots on the street before you get to the restaurant, and if you called ahead and are just picking up then you can park in the reserve lot, where On the Fly is located. Now these spaces are reserved for lawyers going to the courthouse, which is nearby. So you can't park there here all day, but if you're just stopping in for lunch or if you've called ahead or just picking up takeout, then you should be fine. If you're in someone's spot, the first place to look is the restaurant, so just know you may have to move fairly quickly. For me, I like to call in advance, place my order, and then Park in one of the spaces. Then I pick up my food and go and I'm only there for five minutes. Now that that's all out of the way, let's talk about some of the best food that you will have in Jaxonville. On the Fly sauce - I think this is made by a team of leprechauns they keep in the back of the food truck. Because it comes out so fresh, so delicious, and if they sold it by the gallon, I would be numero Uno in buying it. Blue chips - a great starter chips and blue cheese, perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned and delicious. Firecracker Sesame seared Tuna - another solid performer, it has some kick to it, although the tuna is always perfectly cooked. Sweet and spicy quesadilla - oh my God, this dishes as close to heaven as I think I will ever get to. The chicken is so tender and put into a tortilla with caramelized onions, banana peppers, and covered in On the Fly sauce. I don't know how but this works so well you cannot imagine. I've tasted their baked goods at the old location and they were very good. The new place is right beside a gas station so if you're traveling on a Lane Ave it's easy to miss. Although it may not be as good as ones I tasted in South Texas I'm just happy I found one in town. The day I visited I tried their Conchas the pink one, chocolate and vanilla. The bread are all the same, only difference is in the topping. I think it's a mixture of flour & sugar. I shared one with a friend and even after 2 days she said it still was soft and tasty. Important tip is if you want freshly baked goods you need to stop by after 4pm. I don't think they're competing with Dunkin Donuts as they don't start baking in the wee hrs of the morning.
