Wow, what happened to this place? One positive note -- our server Teesh was very kind, helpful, and attentive. As for the food, we ordered the chicken fried rice and it was very bland with no seasoning or flavor. The chicken was also dry and flavorless. I ordered the twice-fried chicken with 3 drumsticks and 5 wings, and everything tasted overcooked. This spot is definitely not how I remembered it from two years ago. Food was mediocre at best. Service was good but this a chain and have enjoyed it in other locations and the food did not stand up to Bonchon standards or flavors. Place is in the side of a strip mall and when put i. Directions it takes you to the front very confusing. On this visit there were five us. So we ordered a couple of items for the table: Loaded Bulgogi Fries, and 20 wings, with two flavors; Classic Crunch and a new flavor Yangnyeom with a side of pickled Daikon radish. Both were great. Individually, we got two Japchae's, and one order of of plain chicken tenders (10) and a side of fried zuchini, An order of Beef Bulgolgi fried rice, and pork belly kimchi fried rice. Everyone enjoyed their food. The waitress was helpful and kept our drinks refilled. There's still some items I'd like to try one day, so I do want to work my way through more of the menu. Tried Bonchon in Jacksonville for the first time and I'm honestly mad I waited this long. The Korean fried wings are the star of the show -- insanely crispy, perfectly sauced, and packed with flavor. Like... next-level good. The dumplings were straight-up addicting and disappeared way too fast. We also ordered the bulgogi fries and they absolutely hit the spot -- savory, filling, and great for sharing. The noodles were awesome and comforting, and even the lemonade stood out (which says a lot because I don't usually notice drinks like that). Overall, everything we tried was solid and well-executed. Bonchon - Strong Drinks, Perfect Crunch, Quiet Vibes Stopped into Bonchon and walked out pleasantly full and slightly buzzed, so that's already a win. I started with the sake flight, and let me tell you -- it was strong in the best way. No frills, no pretending... it did exactly what it needed to do. Food-wise, Bonchon delivered. The fried rice was absolute perfection: flavorful, buttery, and one of those sides you end up eating way too fast. And of course, the wings -- fried to that signature Bonchon crisp that never disappoints. My only miss was the Asian Garlic flavor. Not bad by any means, just not for me. Bonchon is one of my favorite comfort foods, nothing beats their spicy wings if you're in the mood for something filling with a lot of heat! I came to this location to pick up an order and was frustrated with the service. My order was "ready for pickup" in the app but when I walked in, there was only one server and she was assisting someone at a table. I had my dog in the car and really didn't want to leave her for more than 60 seconds, so I went back to my car to wait for her to return to the cash register. I did that about 3 times over 10 minutes, checking on my dog and then returning to the restaurant to see if someone was available to give me my order (which I could see behind the cash register with my name on it!). Eventually I was able to get my order but I would have appreciated a smoother process with perhaps one more server. read more

We visited June 19th after reading reviews about them having amazing wings. As we walked in a young girl with brown hair (pic attached) was by the drink dispensers. She walked in the back when we walked in and never returned. We stood at the register for almost 8 minutes with no one acknowledging our presence. The door was ajar in the kitchen & there were two people in the kitchen. The gentlemen literally never spoke and closed the door. Still no acknowledgment so we left. As we were leaving who reappears? The worker from earlier. She still never spoke, never tried to stop us, no apologies, nothing. I called the next day and spoke to the "manager" on duty McKenna who said she was going to pass my information over to the general manager. We ordered a medium, half and half (Korean bbq and garlic soy flavor) wings, basil on bacon Kimchi fried rice, seasoned fried zucchini, and sides of kimchi and daikon. The wings were good. Half of the table like Korean bbq flavor and the other half like garlic soy. I personally enjoyed the soy garlic. I think it has a sweeter note. The kimchi fried rice was good but I would change the meat. It was literally marinated bacon slice. I figure it was pork belly. Next time, I'll get the beef if I come back. I know they have eggs in the rice but a nice tough would be a fried egg on top of the rice. The zucchini fries was solid. It looks like mozzarella sticks. Get the spicy mayo sauce as the dipping sauce. Soooo good. The kimchi and daikon was good. It was affordable and. A good amount to it. Overall I would go again. The drumsticks are on the smaller side which I really like. They are super crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The strips are my favorite and are delicious with the soy garlic sauce. The house fried rice with bulgogi is very tasty! Fluffy, flavorful rice with yummy marinated beef, veggies and cucumber slices. I especially really love their pickled radish, a must try side! My first visit here tonight. Long overdue. They've been at this location for three years now. They do have a few more locations around town. We were promptly seated and given drink and food menus. I decided to try the chicken entree and the chicken fried rice entree to share with my friend, Tammy. Tammy ordered tacos and shared one with me. The flavor of the tacos were Devine. I was surprised how delicious the chicken was. The chicken fried rice was okay. I would come back here again for the tacos and chicken again. Pros:delicious food and relaxing atmosphere. PLEASE, please read this before ordering. This is my opinion and experience. I recently had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience with their ordering through Yelp and the extremely unprofessional "manager" here named Lily. Their lunch special prices were listed without any specified time limitations, allowing me to order and pay for the meal with no issue - Receiving a confirmation that my food is being prepared, and even a notification that my order was ready for pickup after 20 minutes. Having driven 35 minutes based on that confirmation, I was shocked to find out upon arrival that the order had been cancelled by the manager, Lily. Lily informed me that it was not the time for the lunch special and that I would receive a refund in a few days and refused to honor the order I paid for. Not only did I feel taken advantage of due to the misleading online system, but Lily was also incredibly rude and unaccommodating throughout our interaction. I genuinely felt harassed, and it's disheartening to think that a manager could be this inconsiderate especially considering the details. This is, without a doubt, the worst managerial experience I've ever encountered. It's a very basic expectation for restaurants to honor the orders they confirm, especially when a customer has been charged and has traveled a significant distance. I walked out with no food and -$30 as the manager refused to do anything to help at all. I will be reaching out to corporate regarding this matter and will provide updates on any developments. People deserve better treatment at the very least, and I strongly urge Bonchon to address this grave oversight in their system and to reconsider their managerial staff. read more

"Bonchon" which actually means "my hometown" in Korean is a global restaurant chain best known for their crunchy double-fried chicken, signature sauces and unique Pan-Asian food, has over 340 locations worldwide including here at Jax. We went to have a quick lunch at the Gate Parkway location and ordered Japchae, a savory and slightly sweet dish of stir-fried glass noodles and costs less than $12 and was very tasty along with the mix of vegetables with the right texture. Although, we thought that the serving was a bit less than expected, that or we were just really hungry lol We also ordered the house special Chicken Drumstick and Wings (6 pieces) for around $11, with a mix of hot, sweet and sour flavors and they were very crispy and delicious along with a side of Kimchi Can't enjoy Korean food without this side dish of course ;) Overall, it was a good experience for our lunch here at Bonchon's as the staff was very accomodating and the restaurant was very clean and we will definitely be back to try other items on the menu, most likely for dinner next time around. Finally went back.... The food was not good. It was overpriced for the level of quality this food was. The street corn was swimming in a bowl of mayo and cheese and was bland. I am not impressed and so disappointed that I wasted money here. I'd give it zero stars if I could. The crispy chicken was anything but, and the cleanliness of the establishment was unacceptable as well. How can you ask patrons to sit in another person's mess? This was my first time here because I was in the mood for Korean food and we happened to drive here for the main purpose of shopping at St. John Town Center Mall. I don't know if it's because I've had a lot of amazing authentic Korean food in Atlanta, Philly and NYC so I am a little jaded. Inside was clean and beautifully decorated. But it is a mash up of Americanized Korean food. We decided to skip the fried chicken which might have changed my mind about this place. But I ordered the bulgogi tacos which were good. And the pork buns which were not good because the pork belly was overcooked, dry and crispy. Ironically the seasoned fries with parmesan were the highlight of my meal. Bon Chon on Beach Blvd's Dining Room is OPEN after what seemed like forever... I love their wings, but I always forget that the spicy is SPICY SPICY. I could only eat 2! The Cole Slaw was something I usually don't order, but decided to try it, and yummy! I would give this place a 7/10. My fiancé and I stopped here for a late lunch / early dinner after work. Third place is pricey for kinda low quality. The wings were crispy, but really over sauced, the bulgogi fried were really a hit or kiss, and unfortunately they were a miss that day. They really just reminded me of a deconstructed big mac with a plate of fries. Our server however, was absolutely fantastic. Marshall was doing great, he constantly checked up on us and was overall a great guy. The place was empty when we got there, so business is probably slower, but that doesn't affect my review. I would definitely recommend this place to people for their first time around the area, it was definitely something I would look forward to coming back to! read more
