I've been to Soul Flower Wellness twice now for deep tissue massages and have had Maeleena both times. Both experiences have been great! They enforce covid protocol and I feel very safe there. The first visit involved comprehensive paperwork to go over my medical history/massage needs. Maeleena also takes the time to talk to me in the beginning about what I need that day, and if there's anything in particular that I want to focus on or avoid. I have some orthopedic problems involving a herniated disc that never healed properly even after surgery, and I've gotten massages elsewhere that didn't properly care for that area. In those cases I left in more pain than I had going in (and I'm not talking about the "good" pain that can happen after a good massage). That hasn't happened with Maeleena though, she knows what she is doing! She is very communicative and will check in periodically to adjust pressure etc. I highly recommend Maeleena to anybody looking for a great massage - the introductory pricing is great and the standard pricing after that is very good for the area! read more

I had just had a really hard day in court. So when I arrived and Jazmine made me feel totally relaxed as she checked me in and got me on the table, it was exactly what I needed. Jazmine took the time to talk to me, and she had this amazing ability to listen to my body and read exactly what I needed. I've been to a few different kinds of massage - from the theraputic to the relaxation. Jazmine is a real therapist. She identified issues I knew I had, and ones I didn't. She worked on me - and she even suggested stretches I could do on my own. She always knew just how much pressure to use - it got intense but she always seemed to know just how much I needed. This was my first massage experience ever and I absolutely can't wait until I get to return. I am a graphic designer so I spend much of my time sitting (with bad posture mind you :/ ) and I weightlift a few days out of the week, so my body is generally achey/sore almost all the time. I bought a Groupon here last winter, and after my first massage with Lindsey, I immediately had to sign up to continue seeing her on a regular basis. I have tried many massage therapists in the past 8 or so years and had never found someone who I felt truly helped me with my neck and back pain. I was suffering with chronic headaches and migraines and I'm happy to say that they are definitely relieved when I see Lindsey! I benefit from very deep pressure and Lindsey has more than strong enough hands to accomplish this. On days that I don't want as much pressure, I just tell her and she lightens up, no problem. She always checks in with you to make sure you are comfortable and happy with the massage. I wish I could see her twice a week instead of twice a month! She also helped me figure out that I have TMJ and her work on my jaw has helped relieve my headaches as well. Also there have been times when I came to see Lindsey after injuries unrelated to my headaches (sprained foot, twisted knee, and pelvis/pain in sacrum after an accident) and Lindsey was able to relieve my pain in these areas as well. It's incredible how intuitive she is about where your pain is and how to release the areas. Also her new office in Brighton Center is a beautiful, clean, and relaxing atmosphere, and really makes you feel pampered. Not only is Lindsey amazing at providing you pain relief, but she's also a genuinely sweet and caring person, and this adds a lot to each appointment with her as well. It's no fun to get a massage from someone who hardly smiles or gives a crap about how you are doing. Lindsey clearly loves her job and cares a lot for all of her clients and it shows!! Lindeys hands move like the ocean. I'm a photographer and am am on my feet half the time and hunched over a computer the other half. Lindsey worked with me and listened to my concerns about my shoulders and lower back. She intuitively knew exactly where my pain was and worked her magic. I found this place though Groupon and I just went there yesterday for the first time. Laska took care of me and i have a good massage to loosen up my back and my muscles, i feel pretty good after the 50 minutes session. Here are few things to keep in mind. -If you are first timer, get the Groupon. $37 for 50 minutes quality massage. The sales ends in July 4th. -If you are not first timer, the Groupon wont work. (If you read the description on the groupon, it'll tell you.) -When you call and make an appointment 80% chance they wont answer the phone. Because they only have two staffs and when they are doing sessions no one will answer the phone. However you can leave a voice mail or book it online from their website. -Their doorbell is now broken, try to press other doorbells to get in if you arrive early. If you arrive on time you may call them and they much likely finish up their session and pick up the phone. -They are located on second floor to the left -There are parking in the back(I believe its free though i found a street parking.) -If you arrive and there are no one there, just have a seat and wait. -Dont let the none-fancy surrounding fool you. - Even though I have massage with Laska which is great! I believe Lindsey would do just as good, so dont be picky. -Last not least, dont forget to tip. That's pretty much wrap it up. After the massage Laska didnt push me into any membership or sales which is good for most people. However I kind of hope she ask me if i am interest in it. Don't let the exterior fool you; this was one of the best massages I've ever had! As soon as I arrived, I was greeted and offered water. My masseuse, Laska, then asked me questions to personalize the massage to my needs. Because I told her that I have had shoulder pain, she focused a good amount of time on them. While it was definitely painful at times, it was completely worth it because she took out almost all of the knots in my shoulders (and there were plenty)! Throughout the massage, she asked me a few times whether or not the massage was firm enough or not, an important question to me as I am very particular with my needs (and one not asked enough by masseuses)! After the massage was over, we sat and discussed my areas of tension. She even provided me with suggestions for how to reduce my shoulder pain outside of getting massages! Like many others I purchased a Living Social deal for SFW and that's where I heard about them, back in December of 2013. I have visited several other massage places in the area and was looking for one massage at a good price. I got an appointment with Megan and she was wonderful. I was "roped" into signing up for the monthly membership simply because Megan was so great and I wanted to have her work on me again. I am definitely on a budget (freelance musician!) and wasn't sure I could part with $80 every time I needed a little relaxation. It was a much better deal to be billed monthly and have one massage a month for $60. I also liked how it was a flexible system and you can cancel your membership at anytime. Of course I loved Megan and after two massages with her she moved to Spain! I was sad. :'( So I scheduled an appointment with Lindsey for the third month, thinking if I didn't like her I'd cancel the membership and move on. Well, here we are, nine months later, and I'm still happily seeing Lindsey once a month. I'm finding that it is TOTALLY worth setting aside $60 a month to have an appointment with a knowledgeable, experienced massage therapist. Lindsey is FANTASTIC and she is also a yoga teacher. I really believe that having those two areas of knowledge (massage and yoga) really complement each other and gives her an edge over other massage therapists. She knows how the body works and she can really work magic. Seeing her on a regular basis has improved my overall health and body awareness. Scheduling was a bit difficult at first, because usually it seems there's only one staff member there at a time (Lindsey) working on clients and also answering the phone. Now that she has the online scheduling program it's much easier. As someone else already said, if you're not sure about trying SFW, do it. Go. You won't be sorry! read more

I've had super relaxing massages from both Jazmine and Lily. Lily has magical elbows that she uses to really dig into the muscle and work out tough knots, which literally made me drool. Jazmine( I noticed on her card is Reiki certified) gave me a massage that melted so much stress from my entire being and I sort of just floated home. Very restorative and balancing, and she recommended some yoga poses to help open up my thoracic spine (problem area). Great experience! This was my first massage and I was worried it would be awkward or uncomfortable but Lindsey made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. Stopped in this Saturday to use a Gilt deal I purchased for a 50 minute massage with Lindsey. The front of the building is pretty old and not the fanciest spot so I was a bit hesitant to head up to the space but I was so pleasantly surprised when I walked in. It is super clean, very nicely decorated, modern, and so welcoming. I was offered water and coffee right away and provided the standard paperwork. Lindsey took a good amount of time to understand what I was looking for in my massage before we got started which I really appreciated. The massage itself was great! I get massages very frequently at all different spots around the city probably once a month paying both full price and trying different Gilt coupons depending on current deals and this was definitely up there as far as quality. Lindsey did a great job working out the tension in my shoulders which is a tough spot and even threw in an incredible scalp massage which I am not accustomed to in a normal massage, it was a great addition. Laska is hands down the best massage therapist I have ever had. I am a distance runner and classical singer, and Soul Flower Wellness has made all the difference. Laska is extremely knowledgeable and thoughtful. I go in for sports massage, and Laska takes the time discuss what has been bothering me, and really targets this areas with a massage that is effective and at the same time relaxing. She goes above and beyond. Not due to the massage itself, the quality was great; I've had Alex work on me before. It was the fact that she decided to bring her cell phone in the room with us and left it on vibrate...AND IT KEPT GOING OFF. So happy to have found Lindsay! I agree with the other reviewers... I went yesterday to get a massage. As I get older I found that my body doesn't recover from every day stresses as easily as it used to (a humbling realization). Massages these days are more of a therapeutic necessity than a luxury. I don't have chronic pain, but I get frequent headaches due to the tension I hold in my neck and jaw. I was a mess! Lindsay treated my upper back and while the massage itself didn't feel deep (not a lot of digging or intensity, it was actually very relaxing), within 30 minutes post-treatment I could feel soreness and I knew she had done the job. My neck work was a bit uncomfortable, but she was totally able to release the large muscle in the side of my neck... huge relief! I also had jaw work done... which no therapist in all these years has ever even attempted (even though I always advise them that I hold most of my tension in my jaw). She warned me it would NOT be fun. She was right... I broke out in a sweat at one point. I got through it and am happy I did. I think last night was the first night in a long time that I didn't wake up multiple times with my teeth clamped together. As others have said, it is amazing to find someone who understands and can relate to your issues! She also does a great job checking in with you throughout to make sure you're okay and to inquire about the pressure. I always speak up, but it is a great practice for therapists to have since a lot of people don't. The office bldg itself doesn't look that great, but her space is nicely decorated and CLEAN... which is all that really matters. Also, there is parking behind the building. I never even thought to look or ask so I ended up being late trying to find street parking. When you book, ask her for details since there is one lot she pointed out that is off limits. I went in for a Pre-Natal massage with Joan-Ellen and it was amazing! She asked if there were any specific "problem" areas and made sure to hit those areas. My back and hips have been taking a beating due to how far along I am and the fact that I was at a conference all week and on my feet for most of it. I have a three year old at home in addition to being 8 months pregnant, so being away from the house for an hour was pleasant enough, but after the massage I felt like a whole new person ready to tackle whatever mess was waiting for me. Lindsey is the bomb. She is professional but still very warm and personable. My neck and back was in a mess when I went in to see her and even after just an hour, I was feeling better. Admittedly there were some moments where I really had to breathe to push through some soreness, and she made sure to give me a heads up before a particularly intense segment on my neck. Lindsey really knows what she is doing though, and my neck felt tons better after wards. I probably melted into the table by the end. Scheduling can sometimes take a little longer than other places that implement an online system since she also takes the calls and emails between clients, but she is as prompt as possible considering that fact.
