I recently stopped by 3000 Bar for some day drinking for St. Patrick's Day. The drink menu has a good variety of options which is always nice. The bartenders were friendly and attentive, making sure everyone was taken care of without being overbearing. You could tell they know their customers and their craft and took pride in the drinks they served. It had a nice mix of people, and the environment felt lively but comfortable at the same time. So i want to say I am extremely bias with this review because I come from Louisiana and this is supposed to be a Fat Tuesday style Daq spot. The hookah was good and affordable as expected. Not many flavors but that's okay! The Daiquiris on the other hand were terrible! I've had better ones in the pouches from Walmart!! I'm not sure what Fat Tuesday the owner went to, but this ain't it! There was 0 alcohol in the drink and the 3000 punch tasted like a spoiled apple... maybe they need to clean the machine change the mix but it tasted bad! The service wasn't bad but it was just opening. She was quick and pleasant. The vibe and music is cool but to charge for a "section" when there is no room to sit if it's packed is crazy! I decided to go to 3000 Bar because I wanted to do some barhopping downtown Birmingham. 3000 Bar is located in a spot that has many other bars surrounding it so the location is great. Because I decided to go in the middle of the week it wasn't busy at all. There were only a couple of patrons in the establishment, one bartender, and there was also one security guard at the door checking identification cards; there was also no cover to get in. Now on to the drinks and service; the drinks were pretty good but a tad bit on the expensive side. The menu was easy to read even though it was slightly dark and the bartender was attentive even though she left the bar a couple of times to sit down. The music wasn't bad either. Overall my experience at 3000 Bar was not bad. read more

We arrived here on Christmas Eve. The bar only had about 8 people in there when we arrived. About 8-10 others came in while we were there. Since I am from La, I ordered a strawberry daiquiri with an extra shot of Captain Morgan's spiced rum. Once I mixed it up, I was good to go. I loved that there were hooks for my purse under the bar. The bartenders and managers on duty were so nice. We had a great conversation. It was nice to hear that they will be opening another bar in Charlotte soon. Since that is where we live, we gave them a few options to locate to since they haven't found a place. We mentioned NoDa (North Davidson) and South End Charlotte. Went recently and sat at the bar. This place is tiny and was packed wall to wall. Definitely not worth the cover charge and the drinks were watered down. Locals who know the main bartender Trey seemed to be the only customers they cared about. Didn't try the food or hookah. Also didn't care for the crowd of men arguing and threatening each other outside the bar. Pro tip if there is a tow sign anywhere near do not park there. The tow companies in that area are active! read more

I come to this establishment with my friend and it was by far one of the worst experiences I've had. We were looking for a place to watch the Fury fight while in town and saw this location. We had plans on relaxing and ordering plenty drinks. We got a hooka and that's as far as we got with customer service for the night. We couldn't get our coals refilled and had difficulty getting anything actually... Note that it was only MAYBE 10 people in this small lounge. The bartender was very rude and just didn't seem to care about anyone other than herself and friends. We ended up leaving after we had already paid cover, ordered drinks, and a hooka! The staff focused on friends at the bar and had no desire to meet multiple request for ONE refill for me. I'm being very nice with this post and rating. read more

I'm so glad that yelp starting putting a notification where there has been racial discrimination by staff. I posted my experience on the better business bureau last year just so that people would know how nasty they treated me. My friend and I went in and sat at the bar. I tried to place an order for hookah. The rude bartender, (Non-Hispanic White with a thick red beard) said he didn't have any and they we (Non-Hispanic Black people) act like it's crack. I told him that what he said was very rude and insensitive considering the crack epidemic in the non-Hispanic Black community. He proceeded to tell me that if I didn't like his sense of humor I could get the Fuck out. I was shocked and amazed to be treated in such a way. I had never been so disrespected in my life. I contacted the venue and I have yet to receive any type of apology. Find better places to support! read more

The bar is literally the size of a studio apartment with probably 10 seats , it's $5 to get in just to stand shoulder to shoulder at the bar(kitchen counter) , so everybody is standing outside where it smells like piss or trying to crowd around the bar for a slushy drink (must've put a tablespoon of liquor in it) but the homeless guy did put on a good show climbing on a pole would definitely recommend sleek or black market read more

Want a nice place to go to just get drinks for either happy hour or late night. This is the place to be! They will have monthly daiquiris special with a Fat Tuesday feel. The music is always great and the bartenders are the best especially Jazz & Trey. I wan't very impressed. I guess it' supposed to be like the old Fat Tuesday's or The Daiquiri Shops in New Orleans, but the drinks here are pretty weak. Not to mention they didn't have half the drinks on the menu. Yes, this lil' hole in a wall with a capacity of 15 people ran outta certain drinks. Oh and the menu? I swear the pizza was Digiorno's and don't let those commercials fool you, it's not better than the real thing. They also had chicken fingers and fries for like $10. For that amount the chicken better come from Foghorn Leghorn and the fries imported from Idaho. And did I mention it was small? People mean mugged me and my friend all night because we sat on the only cushioned seats in the joint while they leaned against the wall or sat on bar stools. Their drinks are mehhhh and they use deception to make you believe their drinks are cheaper than what they are! (See photo) somehow 2X6=18 and 2X5=16 so then she explained there's a $3 charge on each of my drinks because they're "neat" even though it's not listed on my receipt. I know each establishment has their own definition of neat, some say neat is anything straight up. Some say it's anything with ice or mixers added. I ordered a straight up drink and a mixed drink so I asked her what is this establishments definition of a "neat" drink? She couldn't tell me. So I asked her what is not a "neat" drink and she replies "we don't have any drinks that aren't neat" yet, they have a full bar? How can you charge people a fee for a certain type of drink when thats the only kind you have? I think she had to be drunk since she was drinking straight dark liquor the entire night. read more

Love this place, it's my second time going. Daiquiris are perfectly made! Trey is THE BEST BARTENDER ON THE PLANET. Very attentive and if you don't know what you want he'll surprise you! Every drink he made me was amazing. The female bartenders were not as attentive but very friendly. Hookah only cost 20.00 for my friend and I to share and they made sure we got out money's worth. out of control owner: I was with friends at the 3000 bar the other evening and the owner went off on a lady that had asked for her receipt. The owner was so out of control that the police had to come just to get a receipt for the poor lady. Strange why a business owner would not want to provide a receipt. I paid with cash. The one plus to me is that it does have a little patio area outside. The inside is rather small, crowded, and loud. If you are a fan of "Fat Tuesday" drinks, then this would be a good spot to find them. The one that I tried was sickly sweet...no way I could have had more than one. We happened upon this bar as we were exploring the five points area of downtown Birmingham. We were drawn because we saw they had four frozen daiquiri machines and we love frozen drinks. We went on a Saturday and they were selling medium daiquiris for $5 each so we cozied up to the bar to have some drinks and watch the NBA game on the large flat screen above the service area. This is not a large place, there is some outside patio seating, a few couches and tables and then the bar. Food is not offered but they have an arrangement with a nearby Italian restaurant that will deliver a limited menu to the bar. The bartender was very friendly and made us feel welcome. On the night we were there, the crowd skewed largely African American but everyone was there to have fun and we fit right in (in our middle aged white minds anyway). One thing to keep in mind is they play the music rather loud, just a bit more than I would have liked, and its very raw hip hop style music. If you're offended by profanity or heavy use of the n-word in music, you wouldn't have liked it. We were watching the game and largely ignored the music so it wasn't an issue. The drinks were tasty and they had floaters for an extra $2, so we were able to have quite a few drinks and not break the bank. All in all we had a great time and would recommend this place for anyone looking for a drink. read more

I don't drink daiquiris but the drinks are awesome! I disagree with the person below me: I've never seen 4 girls behind the bar at once. At best there's 2 maybe 3 bartenders. The cocktail waitress is a nice touch bc me and my friends didn't have to go stand at the bar to wait. After the first drink, we sat down and she kept coming to check on us. The staff is quick to help offer suggestions for drinks based on what we all wanted. Overall a good experience. Too bad there's not more than 1 bathroom. But I don't mind waiting in line. I got to watch a Celtics game on the tv by the bathroom so I had entertainment aside from the funny bartenders. I'll be back for sure. read more

I visited Birmingham this weekend and I was invited to this poor service establishment. I want to start off and tell you that this place is very very small so don't go here with a large group. Also don't go here expecting to use one of the "two hookahs" they have available for the 20 plus customers. OK so now to why I will never ever go back. While I was using the restroom the bartender started beating not knocking but beating on the door so I opened it and she asked if I was finished. I said no and closed the door but I could still hear the rude black hair bartender tell the owner Trey "if she had time to open the door then she must be finish." My hands wasn't washed but I opened the door because I thought something was wrong. I can expect this type rudeness from a customer but from a owner and his worker was very disappointing. I was fully aware that this small place had only one restroom but since the waitress didn't see me go in then she assumed that I was in there for a long time but I wasn't. She never apologized for being wrong nor did the owner Trey after telling him how disappointed I was with my first experience at his bar. read more
