Yes, three stars = OK. This place is OK. You can get drinks and food and have a good time. That's what this place is. You're not gonna die or be traumatized. If you are, well, that's on you. No disappointments, but no "OMG!! NOM NOM NOM!" Noise level is a bit up, but it's a bar. Service level is fair. Love coming in to grab take out. They share a kitchen with Acropolis (Greek and Italian place next door with the same owners) which has amazing food. Great inviting vibe and atmosphere inside and some patio seating available. Perfect place for late night food and drinks. The staff is super friendly and truly the highlight of the bar. Between Harley switching into her pajamas late night, Amys friendly smile and delightful conversation, and the pub manager Mitchell's professional service and attentiveness it's just an amazing experience. I just have one question. Why does this place smell like chlorine? The smell of chlorine permeated the air and hung there like a perpetual cloud. It lingered by the bar and just hung there. My friends and I came here quite late and sat at the bar. The only concept that makes this an "ice bar" is a poorly maintained ice ledge around the bar that I have seen done better at other bars. If you've been to the ice bars in Vegas this is a poor comparison. The bartender was very serious and spoke how he knew every drink except for the drinks we wanted to order. And then the drinks on the menu were hit and miss based on ingredient availability. The drinks we got were ok. As was the pizza. It was fine. But it wasn't some place I'd return to and couldn't recommend anyone else to go to. The lighting was dim. The bathroom was poorly maintained. And it smelled strongly of chlorine. read more

This is my favorite bar in the Asheville area. Tons of different beers on tap, plus liquor and food from Acropolis, a greek restaurant next door. The service is friendly and they have a cool strip of ice running along the bar to keep your beer cold. The gyro seemed to have less meat on it than last time but guess that is due to inflation and dont hold it against them. read more

Cocktails are over priced, but reasonable pours .The beer selection is large enough and it stays in business because it's on this side of town and there aren't a lot of other choices. Went tonight and my wife walked in the wrong door I'm not sure if the bartender a young brunette was on Coke or just has really poor customer service skills. I apologized, but she really lectured hard about us walking in the door that could have easily been confused with the front door. I would've just as soon how to drink, but my wife said she was good. Just a lesson in customer service . When a customer makes a mistake and you overreact you lose a customer for good. I went back to let her know that my wife thought this was an overreaction and didn't want to stay and she told me it was not an overreaction lol so we left. The customer is always right. A simple. Let me buy you guys one round would've been fine you're right, I don't overreact. I guess at these kind of places people who are bartenders are hooking up with owners or whatever and feel a lot of job security. But you lost two customers tonight. Looking at the reviews, I'm guessing the owner needs to review the staffing And off for a few apologies and a free around to get some customers back. I never want to see a local business get hurt. This is my second visit here for dinner. I don't see why this place is so underrated. My food and beer are always delivered to me quickly and I was seated right away even thought it is a Friday night. Now I was warned ahead of time that the "ice bar" experience is just a thin frosted section of the bar to sit your glass on. So I wasn't expecting much going in, but before someone told me that, the name made me expect the entire bar to be made of ice. Is you can get over that, there are a ton of local beer selections on tap and even more bottled options. I love the pene a la vodka. I understand the food comes from next door at Acropolis. I will visit again. It's a great place to visit alone, I don't know if it's good for talking. It can be a little loud. read more

This place is ok if you want to watch a game/ or have a drink( nothing too fancy though). Gone downhill! Give it 3/10 rating. I ordered a white pie with No ricotta- got a pizza with red sauce and hardly any of the 5 toppings (free on this pizza). They had to fix the bill as they charged me $1.99 for each topping. I came in last night just to have a drink and sat at the bar. I was served fairly quickly but that's where the positivity ends. My drink sat empty for about 15 minutes while not once being acknowledged if I wanted another or if I wanted to cash out. The last five or so minutes of that time my credit card was clearly in sight in front of me. My friends finally were able to cash out and stated they were ignored as well. As they were leaving I loudly said if I can ever cash out I'm right behind you. Wouldn't you know it I got my bill within a minute after that. Heads up bartenders of ice bar, former bartenders/servers typically tip very well. I'm that person and I struggled to leave my generous tip because you couldn't even acknowledge an empty bar glass sitting right in front of me while sitting AT THE BAR. read more

Man they really screwed up the seating with the remodel of this restaurant ! It is now a big open-room . The volume in the area echos and it's almost impossible to hear the person you are dining with. There are two 6 top tables in the middle of the room . I watched two different parties of two walk out because the rest of the restaurant was full except one of the 6 tops . Obviously they felt uncomfortable occupying such a large table . The two 6 tops should be 2- 4 tops , and 2-2 tops. The bar at the window looks out on top of the table outside , you are actually staring down at the people at that table , how uncomfortable to be at table . Where the hell did the owner get any sense of aesthetics. . The bar also seats less than formally . Hope to see a change next time I visit. Let me start by saying I never write yelp reviews, but I had to make an exception for how disrespectfully I was treated at this restaurant. My girl friend, another couple, and I were seated inside around 8pm after making a reservation. After about an hour of eating and drinking, the general manager approached us and told us we needed to leave so he could seat another table. Keep in mind we still had food on the table. After we refused, he threatened to have us forcibly removed. We offered to switch tables and he told us "pay your checks and get the F out of here." The issue was that we were seated in the wrong area. For a mistake they made, we were treated like second class citizens and I will never go back. We eventually moved but we're given no apologies. I used to like going here, but the last couple of years it seems to always disappoint. I gave it another try tonight, and was again disappointed. The service here is AWFUL!!! Tonight I ordered a beer and wings. I was told that they had neither. I joked to the server that maybe I should go somewhere else and he told me to go then. Let me start by saying that I like the concept for this restaurant. The inside is very dark. Maybe that's an sign of things to come. The service here is very hit or miss. I'm not sure what the hiring criteria is. Some servers are very attentive. Some couldn't care less about you. When speaking to the manager he was very rude. The staff at the pizza place, Acropolis, also being owned by the same person their people are rude as well. The food is good. But the food is not good enough to make me want to come back. I wouldn't go to either of these places if the food was free. I would fire my entire management team if they allowed this sort of rude behavior. But when the manager is just as rude and unprofessional no one gets policed. Oh well. I usually give restaurants a second change and occasionally a 3rd. This restaurant has no change for me to return. Food is the only reason for the 2 stars. I wouldn't recommend this place unless it was to a family member you didn't like. read more

They are tucked out of the way but next door to the famous Acropolis Restaurant in a strip center right on Airport Rd. I enjoyed a plate of Yugo Sliders. Really, really, good. I don't go here for the sports tv or many dozens of beers they carry, but for the good food, welcoming atmosphere, excellent servers (not at all hard on the eyes), and friendly clientele. read more

Up until February, 2018 Ice Bar was my favorite neighborhood bar. Twice since that time...2 months apart I visited this establishment and twice with bad results. Simply put the service was horrible. Didn't even stick around to order food. After the last visit, I talked to a supervisor at Acropolis next door, who owns the Ice Bar, she admitted that they can't get good help for the Bar. I've been coming here since it opened. Over the past couple of years, I've noticed a definite decline in good employees and the ability to keep good employees. I've worked in enough restaurants/bars to know where the problem lies here. Food and beer are consistent, but, as a regular I come for the staff... they know my name, my beer, etc. unfortunately the inability of the management to keep solid employees is gonna lead to loosing regulars. read more

I started reading past reviews on this place and i can't believe all of the 1 star reviews. I know many people complain about the smallest thing but it doesn't even sound like the same place that I visited. I went with a few of my friends on a busy friday night and honestly I was impressed the entire time. I felt like every staff member approached us just to check on us and the food was amazing! The bartenders were thrown some crazy cocktail requests by my friends and they immediately told us "we will figure it out for ya" AND THEY DID. The service they give for the volume the do is impressive. I love the atmosphere of the entire place... Patio, the actual bar with an ice rail to keep your drink cold and even the bathrooms were clean. We watched the staff deal with alot of high maintenance guests and they kept a smile the whole time. This is my new spot and I would advise anybody who reads these reviews to try it out for themselves. Some people just like to bitch. read more
