If you go for drinks, sports, pool, or darts, then Village Pub is fantastic. It's a surprisingly big space with a great selection of drinks, and so many television screens. If you go for food, you might be disappointed. Everything is essentially bar food (frozen then fried). I personally liked the French fries, but my wife couldn't eat hers because they were soggy and not warm enough. The chicken sandwich went mostly uneaten; the patty was small, it seemed like it was previously frozen, and "just didn't taste good". For me, the biggest offender was the corn chowder, which was I think a special of the day. The ingredients tasted canned, which for the most part was okay. But something was going on with the cheese in the chowder-- every bite I took had a half dozen strings of cheese dangling into the soup, and it's hard to describe, but it seemed odd and super unappetizing. I left most of it uneaten. If they had made the exact same items from fresh ingredients, it would've been so dang good. I should mention, our server was great. She was super friendly and helpful! She pointed us to the upstairs area, where we played pool and darts for like an hour while watching The Sound of Music on TV. It was great. So, we like Village Pub. I don't know if we'll go back for food, but it's definitely a good spot for drinks, sports on TV, and pool/darts.

    Fish n chips

Yesterday a friend and myself decided to try Village Pub because we were in the area and had seen reviews of the place. The minute we walked in, we felt an air of friendliness and a delightful atmosphere abounded. Service was prompt, but gave us plenty of time to review the menu. Lots of pub fare- burgers, wings, salads, sandwiches, etc. Because I'm a fan of fish and chips and they indicated that the fish was white fish, I decided to go for "Swannanoa Fish and Chip" plate. It came out looking plentiful, hot, and delicious tasting! The fish had just the right amount of seasoned batter, and the crunch was perfect! The chips were awesome tasting, fried to a tender crispness that was satisfying. It was a good choice. The only addition I'd add would be some coleslaw. I'd give this meal a great rating, as well as the service and atmosphere! I'll try it again, for sure!

Great outdoor area with indoor outdoor bar seating! Fun!

Large pub and restaurant with quaint outdoor seating and huge indoor seating arrangements, including large bar area and multiple large televisions throughout the establishment. Service was excellent and food was served hot and in a timely manner. Large beer selections and food choices.

Great space if you're hanging out with a group of friends or co-workers. The long patio seating area and outdoor tables are especially good for that when the weather is nice. Decent draft beer selection (although heavy on IPAs). Food is pretty standard pub fare at average Asheville prices, but the fries are really good (coating is what makes them note worthy). Smashed chicken sandwich and Village Burger (double burger) both were good. Service is good. Would go back.

    Main inside bar area

We stayed in the Biltmore area of Asheville and found this outstanding sports bar just across the way from our hotel. TV's all over the place with multiple games going. The place is super clean, the service is excellent and the food is good. Standard bar food with a solid selection of craft beers. Highly recommended!

Mike Fitch from Salem Ohio stopped in and will definitely be back here.

YOU want sports: THE Best Sports Bar in town! (22 big screen televisions, three huge overhead garage doors, beautiful outdoor area with seating too). YOU want local beer and domestic beers on tap, Village Pub has it all! Twenty Four beers on tap, and can/bottled beer available too. YOU want huge/open floor plan with plenty of space and room, Village Pub is perfect! Outstanding customer service by management and servers. B. Day was our bartender and she was attentive, personable and informative with the city recommendations. The Village Pub is a MUST experience when here in town for everyone. You will love this venue. Food is tasty too...

Will not go there again. Should have stayed at Hillmans. Bartenders were awful. Go to Hillmans where you are treated well!

It's good; pricey for what it is. Definitely a tourist location making money off the Biltmore name.

Came for the Hard cider on tap! Friendly staff and surrounding crowd. Casual spot to watch a game or bring your laptop for some work.

The decor gives you that classic down-home Southern feel, and they even have an area set up for live music. The band was getting ready as we were finishing dinner, so we didn't get to hear them play, but it definitely looked like a fun place to hang out, eat, and listen to some music. The nachos were SO good! They were loaded, full of flavor, and honestly one of my favorite parts of the meal. We also got the BBQ spread so we could try a little bit of everything. The brisket, smoked wings, and pulled pork were all delicious. The meat was definitely the highlight! The collards were probably the best I've ever had at a restaurant. I could've easily eaten a whole bowl of them and been perfectly happy! The baked beans had a pretty strong beer flavor, so those weren't really my thing. The potato salad could've used a little more seasoning too, but overall, there was plenty of food and everything had that comforting, casual down-home feel. I also tried the fresh lemonade, and it was really good...bright, refreshing, and definitely tasted fresh. It was $5 a glass, which is a little pricey for lemonade, but I still enjoyed it and thought it was a nice addition to the meal. And only had one glass. Thanks to the waiter for letting me know as I wanted a refill! Overall, Daddy Mac's was a great experience! Between the amazing nachos, flavorful meats, incredible collards, fun decor, and live music setup, it feels like the kind of place where you could easily spend a few hours eating, relaxing, and enjoying the atmosphere. I'd definitely go back, especially when there's a band playing!

Mama Mac (BBQterie board)- Brisket was cooked perfectly, but did not have much flavor or seasoning. Pulled pork was my favorite of what we had- that was seasoned wonderfully and cooked perfect. The wings (dry rubbed and smoked) were yum. Collards were good. Baked beans were good but super sweet. Cole slaw was nothing special. Pickles were super sweet as well. The BBQ sauces were great we tried all 3. Our favorite was the cheerwine one. They were out of 2 appetizers and potato salad which was supposed to come with the barbequterie board, so they let us choose what to sub it with. We picked cowboy caviar which ended up being okay, not much flavor there. The salad in a jar was good, you dump it into a bowl yourself. The jar was great because everything on the salad was portioned perfectly! Loved the chicken in the salad too. Only waited a few minutes for a table at 2:30p on a Sunday holiday weekend. There is an attached free parking lot and we were able to get a spot, but when we left there were no spots left and someone was waiting for our spot. There is street parking as well.
