We had such a good time here, while going anywhere else was such a hustle we ended up waking in here and we are glad we did. The service was really good and on point. The place has that pub vibe more still nice to come and hang out with the whole family or friends. Cozy with some live music days. We had their fish and chips, Bangers and mashed, Reuben Egg rolls, and of course a few Guinness and Boilermakers. For sure a good time

Great venue! We went to see a band perform on Friday night and they were great. Some great blues only three people.

My wife and I decided to head into downtown Asheville for a late lunch, and invited a friend to meet us. I had been scoping out the menu at Shamrock Irons for a while, so we decided to check it out. When we walked in the place was empty except for two employees hanging out at the bar. We grabbed a table up front by the windows so we could people-watch. Shamrock Irons is in the perfect spot for that, right where Patton and College come together. They've done a good job creating an Irish pub feel, nice dining room, big patio out front, very clean restrooms. My friend ordered a cup of French onion soup and potato skins, my wife asked for a Reuben, and I ordered the corned beef and cabbage. Both my friend and my wife were very happy with their lunches. I didn't fare quite so well. I found everything to be exceedingly bland. I'm used to corned beef having some kick, this did not. It also seemed very lacking in salt, which is odd for corned beef. Even adding malt vinegar to the cabbage did not wake it up, and it also needed salt. I'd swear the potatoes had exactly zero seasoning. I did try the fries that came with my wife's Reuben, and they were properly salted and very tasty. Not sure what happened with my lunch. It's a nice looking and comfortable feeling spot, the staff are friendly and quick. I wish I could could them do better than three stars, if I could give 3 1/2 I would based on my companion's dishes, but alas... Not a spot I'm likely to return to.

People that work here are rude.

In my opinion: I should patronize the business and tip the band if I like them, and the business that hired them should pay them. No? With that, I'd bookmarked Crow & Quill on my Asheville to-do list and walked over from our hotel, so we paid and proceeded to the bar. After grabbing our first round, we were fortunate to find great seats in the packed house. Thankfully, I enjoyed the "surprise band" and they added to our first experience (and our tab) at Crow & Quill. lol... Cheers!

We went all out with appetizers and main courses, and everything was excellent. For starters, my husband ordered the buffalo chicken bites and I got the fried pickles. Both were perfectly prepared, and we thoroughly enjoyed them. The burgers were the absolute highlight. I ordered the "Bacon Crunch" style Juicy Lucy, which came stuffed with cheese and topped with bacon jam, pickles, crisp bacon slices, and potato chips for a perfect crunch. My husband went for the "Lucy Loco" burger, which came loaded with jalapeños. Both burgers had incredible flavor, were an ample size, and hit the spot perfectly. The sides were just as impressive. I had the sweet potato fries, and my husband ordered the fried green beans--which were uniquely delicious and really well done. To top it all off, our server, Carla, was very nice and incredibly attentive throughout our meal. Juicy Lucy's is a must-visit, and I will definitely be stopping by again on my next trip to Asheville!

Google calls it "American" cuisine, which is basically the one cuisine I don't do, but this place does offer some nice vegetarian options. Wanting to save some room for my food tour, I got a salad with a veggie skewer on top, but I did indulge in some lentil fritters. Fried bean paste is always a winner (technically lentils are not beans). The fritters were savory and the clash between their freshly fried texture and the cool dill-flavored dipping sauce and mixed pickled vegetables was quite robust. My salad delivered the promised crunch, and the shiitake shishito kabob had a wide variety of freshly barbecued vegetables, but unlike my appetizer this dish was missing an extra flavor touch. The drink and dessert selection looked good, but I like to spread myself around. I would definitely want to come back and eat outside on a warmer day.

During the warmer weather I am sure the patio is the spot to be. It was 23° so we stayed inside. Come! Be merry.
