I have been living at the Roy for 9 months and I must say it is a great place to live. Lovely city views, high ceilings, and a washer / dryer inside the unit. In addition to this, the management team is fantastic. The team is led by Quasandra (who does so much with so few people). She is hard working and responds to every concern in a timely manner. Quasandra is professional yet friendly, accessible yet efficient. She makes me feel comfortable living here because I know any situation that may arise she will handle it. Update my review after moving in for 1 month. The beginning was rough but the leasing manager was able to solve the issues after we communicated. Still, floor is thin so you can hear your neighbors from time to time, and the construction noise will be another consideration fact if you're want to move in. read more

Some of the rarest things in the world: white peacocks, truly flawless diamonds and an apartment complex owned by a big management company that doesn't treat residents like disposable garbage. The Roy is truly a RARE GEM. I've never, ever had management go above and beyond for their residents like they do. They were transparent about everything, communicative, helpful and genuinely interested in making your time there as good as it possibly could be. I have lived at the Roy for over a year and have to say it was a great experience. The manager, Quasandra, is the best. The previous manager (which would have dropped my ranking, but Quasandra definitely made up for it), did not help greatly on getting me setup with an electric charger for my car. Once Quasandra came into the scene, she made sure I was setup asap and gave me great updates. Ramiro is also great at being prompt at fixing anything. I have put in a few requests for service, with the expectation that it was not urgent, but he would be there the next day to make sure everything was fixed. The rest of the staff does a great job keeping everything clean and in great shape. As for the construction next door, my unit looked right into it. At the start it was pretty bad, which was expected but I can say over the past 2 months it has been not been bothersome at all. The Roy's management team has worked well with the construction team to keep any noise to a minimum and not at awkward times. Overall a great place to live. read more

I was initially really hesitant about moving here because of the location (I lived a block from the beach), but I can't express how happy I am that I did. Not only is the apartment upgraded and beautiful, but the neighbors and young and friendly, and the location is actually central to EVERYTHING making traveling to the east, west, south or north a total breeze. Not to mention the views - being able to see the Hollywood sign, Griffith Observatory, Downtown LA, Sony Studios, etc from my 5th floor unit (as I write this) are unmatched in this little hidden gem. Above and beyond everything that already made it a 5 star review, there is the exceptional customer service, specifically from Quasandra, that has made the entire transition so much easier, honest, and transparent than I've ever experienced at an apartment complex. I had a lot of questions (like, a LOT- I'm sorry Quasandra!!), mostly because I've been burned from other apartment complexes, but The Roy is so lucky to have someone like her- she is truly the kind of person that really cares about the people living here, and sincerely wants to build a community environment, which is evident in every interaction you have with her. To say that this is rare in the renting community, is a vast understatement. I would strongly recommend The Roy to anyone looking for the "next level" step in their journey. Just moved in this month and so far so good! Jamie was our leasing agent to show us the place and she made the whole process really seamless and easy. We saw the apartment and knew we'd sign right away, and she sat with us and took the time to answer all of our questions (there were a lot.) I'm really impressed with the professionalism of the building and how they go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The rent might be a little high for the area (I'm coming from NYC so hard for me to say), but the care and amenities make it worth it. Living at The Roy was truly an amazing experience, from the spectacular views facing east (can see Hollywood Sign/Griffith Observatory, Santa Monica Mountains, San Gabriel Mountains) to the communal atmosphere of the building, everything is top notch. Quasandra & Ramiro are always so helpful in going above and beyond to make sure the tenants are taken care of at all times. They weekly/monthly events are always fantastic, the building offers Yoga/boxing/among many other classes and the occasional party (when it was safe) was such a good time! It really feels like you are apart of community at The Roy and they work extremely hard to make it special place. I've visited The Roy a few times and am impressed by the cleanliness and maintenance of the common space and overall complex. The staff (Irma, Quesandra) have been incredibly responsive but more importantly, take the time to address all my questions and concerns effectively/accurately. The gym, rooftop, and common room are all very clean and well-maintained and are definitely added bonuses. I can tell the staff are highly professional, hardworking, and reliable. The location of The Roy cannot be beat: super close to downtown Culver City, the beaches, and essential stores. Will be reserving a unit so that I can finally join the community at The Roy when my current lease ends. read more

I highly recommend The Roy! I just moved from NYC to LA and was looking at several apartments / locations remotely. Ultimately, I decided on this area because it's centrally located and as a newbie to LA, I figured that was ideal. The building is new, very clean and feels very safe. The area is mostly residential but not too far from Downtown Culver City. There were several apartment complexes that offered new lease / covid hooks but my interactions with the team (specifically Quasandra and Cashe) at The Roy from initial inquiry through to move in day (& thereafter) were nothing short of stellar and they made it the clear choice for me. Quasandra and Cashe went above and beyond to show me multiple units and even after deciding on one and then changing my mind after another apartment opened up, they allowed me to switch last minute no issue. I did this entire move remotely so that meant I also had 100s of questions. No matter what day / time, Quasandra would always respond promptly. She is honestly amazing and I feel very lucky to have found The Roy! read more

I've been living here for 6 months, and there are so many good things to say about The Roy. The building is very new and well-managed. The facilities are top-notch, and management is professional and responsible. Everything is great so far, except for noises. I'm writing this review at 4 am because the noises keep me up. First, there are loud parties every weekend at the rooftop lounge during COVID, and you can hear them all night long. Second, the ceiling is very thin, so you can hear the upstairs neighbors stomping on the ground. I've been woken up at night or in the morning countless times. When the neighbor works out / jumps, it's so loud that you can't work or function normally. A week or two ago, the neighbor assembled a really big piece of furniture, I guess. Because I hear the screwdriver and hammer sound from 8 pm to 12 am, and it continued for a while the next morning. The neighbor also moves furnitures around every night. And now, at 4 am, I can hear a really loud bang on the floor every 10 seconds or so (maybe the neighbor is doing weight lifting at this time), that I feel the apartment is shaking each time. Finally, the apartment is on a really busy road, and it gets very noisy and dusty if you live in one of the units facing Overland. read more

I was always reluctant to rent an apartment in a big building with a faceless management company. I feared they'd be unyielding, cold and impersonal. But that couldn't be further from the reality of living at The Roy with Quasandra as the manager, and with Ramiro and Li in charge of maintenance. Quasandra is so warm and personable and so determined to help residents in any way she can that you *know* it comes from the heart. She shows her neighbors real love and care and we are so grateful to her for being accessible when and how we need her, and for her persistence in helping us solve any problems that have come up. Of course, the apartments themselves are lovely, the amenities are a nice bonus and the neighbors are generally nice. But what makes an apartment a home is not the fixtures or the gym equipment but the sense of comfort and coziness you get from being in it. Clean, consistent maintenance and a manager with a heart of gold are what make this community worthwhile. REMM has done a terrific job staffing this location. read more

He came to diagnose the issue and because it could not be fixed without getting the manufacturer involved (which could have taken days), he brought us a replacement washer/dryer unit the next day. I was trying to find an apartment for my mother who has many accessibility requirements and an unusual financial situation. Quasandra the leasing agent was amazing, accommodating, polite, enthusiastic and all around a lovely person. We loved the apartment and she was approved to move in but my mother ended up getting a different unit in her current building. Recommend the Roy. The building is well maintained by Edward who keeps the building in good condition and is very courteous and helpful to the tenants. The manager Spencer is great and very helpful and responsive as well as accommodating with tenant requests. Only recommendation would be to do something to address exiting the parking lot onto Overland to make it safer. read more
