When she got there they told her that since she didn't confirm the text on Saturday, that her appointment was canceled. Even thou they sent her a text this morning stating when she arrived for her appointment to wait in the car. Then we spoke to the assistant and manager and they refused to see her today. Also stated that the Dentist requested her to go to the ER beforehand to make sure she had no trauma to her face, since she fell. She didn't go because she just had a scrap under her nose and was in NO pain from the fall. I worked in Dentistry for many years and we've NEVER canceled a person appointment because they didn't confirm nor request they go to the ER before an appointment. Why should she acquire an ER bill when it's NOT warranted. My daughter took off work for this appointment and the least they could do is squeeze her in. I tell you customer service is out the window. He took a great deal of time to gently and patiently explain exactly what my issues were and offered me valuable advice on how best to remedy the situation. I had been struggling for over a year with implant supported dentures that kept breaking and were painful to even wear. I could barely even chew with them and they had cost me over $11,000. The work had been performed in Maine and I just didn't know where to turn now that I was living in Zephyrhills full time. I'd had a horrifying experience with a different dental practice in town that necessitated my need for dentures in the first place so to say I was a bit "gun shy" is putting it mildly. He knew I was traumatized by the entirety of the situation at hand and that he was quite literally my only hope. He also knew that finances were a big issue for me but he never made me feel inferior because of it. Because of his 34 years of expertise and his kindness, I left his office with a solid game plan on how best to resolve my problems. I no longer felt uninformed about what my issues were and for the first time in a long time, I had hope that my nightmare would soon be over. I followed his advice to the T and what great advice it was! If all of that wasn't enough, as a final gesture of his generosity, honor and decency, he told me there would be no charge for my visit! This is the experience of my family member and I am so upset because we as a family are all…read morepatients here and have experienced several mishaps and poor quality of care and horrible personal treatment and service........ I hope you all are able to take into consideration why I am choosing to leave this practice and strive to do better. I NEVER write reviews or send complaints; I usually just move on from situations but this time I felt I had to say something. I am so upset about my experience here. The office itself is beautiful and clean and some of the staff (front desk/some hygienists) are wonderful, however the rest, not so much. Multiple times I have been coerced into immediate procedures such as cavity fillings, sealings, wisdom teeth removals and fluoride. When I explained that I did not want to get fluoride due to it costing money, I was told to get it instead of getting my nails done next time. It is not that simple for some people. The hygienist doesn't know me personally and doesn't know my financial situation or if I even pay for my nails! Paying for the fluoride treatment could be the difference between eating or not eating some days because not everyone has money to blow, and fear mongering your clients and forcing them into procedures and processes they don't want is VERY off putting. Furthermore, Dr. Helen is extremely unempathetic, cold and does not care about the wellbeing of clients. The day my wisdom teeth were removed I was not only coerced to get them out but she was horrible. I explained that my father was dying in hospice care and I wasn't comfortable getting a procedure done that day and she kept pushing me and pushing me until I said yes. I explained that I had anxiety over the whole situation and did not like the laughing gas which may cause me anxiety and so I was crying. The hygienist who helped me that day was amazing and did everything in her power to try and keep me calm but as soon as Dr. Helen came in, she expressed how annoyed she was with the hygienist for helping me and how annoyed she was with me for being anxious and told me "figure it out you need to just calm down". I understand that my anxiety in the moment is no one's responsibility, however it wouldn't hurt to show a little compassion! When I expressed that I had issues with dental hygiene due to mental health issues and asked for advice on how to better my oral health she told me "well you can't do that you have to just take care of your teeth." Extremely unhelpful and cold! She could have easily taken 30 seconds to recommend products to me or help me with my oral health since she is a dentist after all. My most recent visit was horrendous. Again, the hygienist was coercing and filling me with fear to force me to get my cavities filled right then and there, get a tooth sealed AND get fluoride. Once I finally relented and said yes and we began the procedure, it went downhill from there. When they were cleaning my teeth, it hurt and my gum on my back right lower mouth was damaged and is STILL inflamed. While Dr. Helen was filling my cavities; she chipped a piece of the back of my upper right tooth! Thankfully it is on the back of my tooth so it is not visible but it's still ridiculous. I hope this review is shared with the staff and taken into consideration so you all can improve for future reference. This has been a horrible dental experience and I hope you guys can make a change to stop forcing clients into things that they do not want to do or cannot afford and that the doctor and some of the staff can begin showing compassion and empathy.

I barely left the house because I felt like my smile scared the neighbors and when I had to talk to people I always covered my mouth. Dr Kasey and team were compassionate, understanding, and so helpful. Every step of the treatment plan, including charges, was explained up front so there were no surprises. I was asked frequently during appointments if I needed anything, right down to a blanket and the remote for the ceiling-mounted tv. The staff here really treats you like family. After a smile makeover, I feel like a completely different person. My teeth are beautiful and I can finally feel comfortable talking to people again. I hope my experience is not the norm, I had an awful experience at New Tampa family dental…read more The experience started with me scheduling a routine cleaning over the phone and the receptionist taking down my insurance information. Over the next week I received two additional calls from New Tampa family dental asking for my insurance information because they kept failing to enter it into the computer correctly. Then a few days before my appointment I received a health questionnaire that I had to complete through my cell phone. At first this seemed like a typical dental questionnaire about allergies and previous surgeries. However, I was required to enter my insurance information a fourth time, upload pictures of my driver's license, and answer roughly 50 to 100 questions about my health history. On the day of the appointment I was asked to arrive 15 minutes early since I was a new patient. I was informed after arriving that showing up 15 minutes early was not necessary since I had already completed the excessively long health questionnaire. I then proceeded to wait in the waiting room for 20 minutes before being called back. Once the cleaning began I was informed that I would need to complete mandatory extra services that were not covered by insurance. When I questioned why these extra services were mandatory I was never provided with an adequate explanation. I have never had a cavity and dental cleanings have always been run-of-the-mill for me. When I refused to accept the extra services New Tampa family dental refused to treat me. I ended up walking out of my appointment without completing my routine cleaning. A few weeks later I went to a different dentist in Wesley Chapel and was faced with none of these mandatory extra services and received compliments on my oral hygiene. New Tampa family dental was an outlier in every interaction I had with them, and they were not an outlier in a positive direction.
