I've waited a while to write this because the owners of MG Floors are friendly, personable people…read more They offer a low-pressure sales environment and were great about letting us keep samples for an extended time. However, after a few years of living with the results, I feel obligated to warn others: being nice does not equal quality workmanship or professional accountability. We were very clear about our "active kid" lifestyle (cleats, sports bags, etc.). We were assured multiple times that Luxury Vinyl Plank was a great durable option for us. We purchased one of their more expensive LVP lines (Coretec), yet it has performed significantly worse than the "low-quality 90s laminate" it replaced. The LVP is covered in dents and scratches from all the same normal things the laminate flooring handled without a blemish for many years. Installation week was a mess. Despite being home to answer questions, the crew made executive decisions without consulting us, many of which had to be corrected later. They didn't provide us with arrival times or communicate about the progress unless we asked, and even then they didn't show up at the times they gave us. The only phone number provided was the office number so there wasn't anyone to call for an update when they didn't arrive as expected. We were also hit with a surprise bill for extra leveling compound (they quoted us 3 bags but used 24 which was an additional $735), which makes the eventual failure of the leveling (details below) even more frustrating. Our furniture was moved around and stacked in whatever room they weren't working in and all of it had dents and dings in it when they were finished. They also had to come back and replace the new flooring in one room where they had rolled our piano over it, leaving indentations behind from its heavy weight. We incorrectly assumed underlayment would be included because every other estimate we got included it but MG chose not to use underlayment because it was "recommended, not required" and we didn't realize this until they were halfway done with installation. Every contractor we've spoken to since has shaken their head at this. We began to notice issues with the flooring itself only a couple months in and these have progressively worsened. We had a small bump in the kitchen floor from day one. MG came back to look at it and said they could not help us and suggested we contact the manufacturer (Shaw/Coretec) to escalate which we did. The representative determined the subfloor was not leveled properly and deemed this an installation problem. Despite their own suggestion to involve the manufacturer, MG Floors refused to fix the issue unless we paid them to come back and repair it (we did not). That spot has now cracked. Additionally, small flooring pieces near the edges of our cabinets weren't glued down and they've now slipped out of place under the quarter round, leaving visible gaps at the edges of the floor. MG installed new baseboards as part of the job which they painted after installation, essentially painting them to the floor. Now, there are large, ugly cracks in the paint where the two meet. Photos are included to illustrate what an eyesore this is. We reached out to MG multiple times via email, phone, and in person, and pleaded with them to make this right but they took zero accountability for their installation errors or their poor recommendations for our lifestyle. The only resolution they offered was for us to pay them more money to come back and replace individual damaged planks of flooring. Needless to say, we declined. If you want a floor that lasts more than six months and a company that stands behind their work, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

They really guided us through to the best flooring decision we could have ever made. Let me tell you, we had been shopping every where in town. We even went to the Home & Garden show here in Austin. The problem was either way too high of a price, or way to low of a quality product (meaning the reviews were bad on the product). Texbest Floors was right on in the middle. They beat the other guys quality who were charging the lowest per sqft (those floors won't last). They beat the other guys prices who were charging way too much for an average household's budget. We had also heard nightmares about projects starting and not getting completed on time or on budget. But not with these guys! They got our beautiful floors down just as we had arranged. Here's what happened: 1. They came to make measurements and talk to us. I can't thank them enough for this advice. For example, for our situation, we went with hard wood, glue down and I can honestly say I'll never consider floating laminate again! (but that's my opinion). They also added a little section of tile at the back door, since the previous flooring was showing warping because of the pool in our backyard. That was an awesome call, keeps that moisture off the floor. 2. The workers were very friendly and very professional. For the price I was impressed. These guys really worked hard to make sure the floor went down flush. They also took the time to make sure the subfloor was properly prepared as well. And game us tips along the way. 3. They delivered on time and on budget. The workers even came by to make sure everything was cleaned up off the floor. 4. It's been several months and are floors are still looking brand new. While I haven't taken advantage of their services myself, I got to explore the showroom and I appreciate the several built-out kitchens and cabinet displays spread out over three large rooms of their new 6,000 sq. ft. location. The many styles are great to see in person, and there are some amazing choices including glossy cabinets that open upwards like gull-wing doors on a car. And some of the tiles are incredibly realistic in their mimicry of expensive marble or other stone. Of course there are samples of real stone from brands like Cambria and there are displays of handles and pulls for every style. It's good to have options and this is a welcome addition to north Austin!

Summary: I would NEVER use this contractor again…read more I purchased my flooring from Floor & Decor and was STRONGLY encouraged to use their contractors - Installation Made Easy - which turned to be Angel Superior Flooring (ASF). The estimator, Rosie, said we had just over 1,000 sq ft and the installers would do 200-300 sq ft per day so we estimated 5 days. We planned to be out of town for a week starting April 17. We discovered that ASF would not paint the molding - we paid them to move all of the furniture (about $700) and put it all back when they were done, but that would leave us with heavy furniture against a wall that would need to be moved again for the painter. Grrr. We decided that ASF would leave the furniture away from the walls and then the painter would come in, paint the molding, and put the furniture back. It's heavy wood furniture and we're too old to be dealing with it. We scheduled all of the material to be delivered from F&D for April 16. On the morning of April 16, one of the ASF installers showed up ready to start work. We sent him away since we had no material and he was a day early. F&D delivered the material shortly before noon on the 16th. The missed the shoe molding required for this project so I phoned and had it scheduled for the next day. The next day, the molding showed up before ASF did so we were back on track. The shopping list that ASF gave us was for 255' of shoe molding. It comes in 16' pieces so F&D sold us 16 pieces. We left on our trip. I discovered on my trip that my Internet went out. It acted like the T-Mobile gateway was unplugged. I had left explicit instructions for them not to unplug it because we have things that need Internet (like our irrigation system). I texted ASF on Monday morning asking them to plug it back in again when they got and was told the job was already completed - they went for speed and not quality. They said they didn't touch the gateway. They lied - it was unplugged at the gateway end so they likely knocked it off the shelf, it became unplugged, they put it back and didn't say anything. That was the least of our problems... The painter showed up the Friday while we were gone to finish painting the shoe molding. He texts me pictures showing scuff marks all over the floor - he noticed this before he even started painting. So I texted ASF and they said they'd send somebody over on Saturday to clean them up. We got home from our trip 2 days early on Saturday night. I see scuff marks all over a filthy floor. I pulled the electronic door lock logs and see that they were here for 6 minutes. So they walked in, looked around blindly, and didn't do a darn thing and left. My wife spent a good part of Sunday vacuuming and mopping the floor. We then spent time with postit notes beside every scuff mark and a couple of dents on the floor and told them to come back and fix them. We also emptied out the cardboard from our garbage can and put it in the recycle can, and we finished picking up the garbage that they left outside. Our neighbor had already picked some off the driveway and some out of our garden. The painter immediately noticed that there was a mixture of shoe molding and quarter-round used for the project. One of the closets didn't have either shoe molding or quarter-round! I asked ASF and they said they ran out of shoe molding. Their supervisor, Ivan, said they only used quarter-round in the closets where it wouldn't be noticeable. I pointed out that part of the master bedroom had shoe molding and part had quarter-round. The hallway also had a mix facing each other. They matched the corner joints by slathering silicone over them. Ivan said they used 50-60' of quarter-round so they either missed the estimate by over 20% or F&D didn't deliver what I paid for. I'll never know which it was. The supervisor offered to replace the quarter-round with shoe molding. However, it would be OUR expense to buy the shoe molding, and OUR expense to have it repainted. I told him we weren't going to do that but I wasn't happy about it. When they came today, they cleaned up all of the marks with acetone, did a nice job on the shoe molding in the closet (they were struggling to get around shelving in there), and ended up replacing 1 tile that was dented. Ivan tried to say that it wasn't dented at all and it was my imagination, and the flooring guy today tried to say somebody else must have dented it - but there was nobody home between the time they left and when it was found. He then said it must have come that way from F&D and that it wasn't noticed during the install. ASF opened the packages and ASF put the flooring down. They need to pay attention to what they're installing. The master bedroom closet had a larger dent but to fix it would have meant removing and replacing the molding so we left it. Again, why did they install a dented piece in the corner of a closet? Overall, we have a new floor and we've made our final payment. But I can't say we're happy.

Antonio and his team made our vision come true. Starting with Anna who drew up the schematics and was very communicative and professional every step of the project. Antonio's idea of the shape of our breakfast bar done in quartz was perfect for our space. The bar has a waterfall at each end and gives more seating than we thought possible. The porcelain island was extend in length by 16" to accommodate 6 to 8 seats. all the counters and backsplashes were done in porcelain to give that exquisite look. They added a shelf wrapped in porcelain that is flushed with the cabinet. Below they extended the countertop and add a waterfall leaving a space for the wine cooler They also applied the porcelain around the windows from ceiling to the baseboards and added crown molding to finish the look. Eduardo and his team of installers were very professional, courteous, thoughtful, respectful and diligent. We are so very grateful and pleased with Legacy. They are definitely dependable, professional, caring and great at what they do! Thank you Legacy!!!
