Great pricing and install quality....if you can deal with the delays. Our flooring adventure began with a bang. More precisely, a whimper. Our two dogs had absolutely destroyed our ten year old carpet, and we were long overdue for a replacement. More carpet, for maximum dog wallowing/belly rubs? Or deny them these simple pleasures and go for hardwood? As our budget would have it, neither; we ended up opting for vinyl plank. Andrea was very helpful during the selection process, sent us home with a few samples and within 20 minutes we had a winner. A few days later she came by to take measurements, collect our deposit and give us an arrival date. The date came and went. "Well, no worries" I thought, Fashion Floors was in the midst of moving their showroom, this was far from a carpet emergency (is there such a thing?) and they hadn't cashed our deposit check anyway. After a few rounds of phone tag, we settled on an install date! Typically this would be the type of project I would tackle myself (and take months to actually complete), but in this case the install included hauling off the old carpet, leveling the subfloor, as well as removal/re installation of the furniture. I figured it was money well spent. We were told our installers would be here between 9-10am. You already know where this is going. They showed up a little after noon, but to their credit, they started busting ass and had the job nearly complete in five hours. Now, it's the "nearly" part that's key here. Apparently they had either forgotten or not been given all of their supplies, so they left for an hour, came back and worked until nearly 8pm. Kudos for the tenacity and the fact that they completed it in one day, but it would've been nicer not to have to rearrange the entire day. We finally made it to their new showroom to go drop off our final payment, only to find the place dark, doors locked at 10am on a Friday. We hopped next door to TacoDeli for a leisurely brunch, came back at 11 to find the place still closed. Bizarre. This necessitated another trip the next week to get these folks paid. Pretending to be outraged on the internet seems to be the newest fad, but you'll get none of that from me. There were some minor inconveniences here and there, but at the end of the day we are very happy with the material and installation, and the new flooring really did transform our bedroom. The store has good collection of LVP and the owner Janak was attentive to our requirements and helped me through the selection. Had no issues there. They had to remove the tiles/carpet and then had to install the LVP in my brand new home. The guy who turned up to get this job done did not even have minimum sense to seal down the areas to avoid the dust from tiles to spread. Also, owner had told me he would send shoe moulds but then did not. I had to follow up on that and get it on time. After the LVP installation , I was so disappointed to see a lot of dents/paint peels off the walls everywhere he took off the tiles. The shoe moulds was in a different color and did not go well with the baseboard. Owner promised me to correct with paint touch ups but never showed up after collecting the check. I realised only at the end how the owner could offer me better pricing. He balanced the good quality product with cheap labor. Owner does not respond to any future queries. I had to hire painters at my expense to fix the damages. I would not recommend this business to my friends. read more

Grateful for the salesman's kindness at Fashion Floors!!!!!! I spent most of the the weekend looking for carpet squares for my kids to sit on. Some suggested I buy a full size carpet and cut them myself to the correct size. Others had them but were charging $5.00 a square, so 20 to 22 would be as much as a nice full size carpet! I walked into Fashion Floors and told him what I was looking for. He said how many and when I told him he pointed to a stack near the door and said I could have as many as I needed!!!!! TERRIBLE. After 4 months they have yet to complete the job. The carpet was laid on top of a toy and they have yet to come back and pull it up to replace it. Their was a terrible line all the way down my 2nd bedroom. The carpet in the master is pulling up at the doorway and it is very obvious were the seems are in the walkway, closet and entry way. The service was terrible from Sherri. Skyler has lied to me and not returned my calls, emailed me back etc.... Sherri said she would get back to me on having the den floor cleaned and resealed - she has yet to do that. I would not give them any business. I paid a lot of money for this carpet and I am a very unhappy customer. The job is yet complete. They have been very unprofessional. Also, when the carpet was originally put down they installers came late.... working all day and until 9pm at night. I believe they returned at 10:00 and were looking in the bedroom window. The WORST customer service experience I have ever had in Austin. Went once, manager was late opening store, assistant knew virtually nothing about flooring/pricing, staff completely ignored me (the only customer) in favor of chatting with flooring sales reps. Went back a second time, but it was even WORSE. Waited for 30 minutes (store was virtually empty) and still no contact/help from staff. And very little selection in wood/laminate. There are no words to describe just how horrific my experience was with this business and Sherry Miller. So I will do my best to keep it somewhat short. I thought it was a safe place to use. It has been in business for a really long time. when I got there it seemed to be family run, as Sherry was related to the other two people that attempted to assist me. It was also recommend to me by my interior designer she had used them in the past years ago. I came in during May wanting to get this job going on the new home I purchased and to also hire them to replace the downstairs flooring in my home I was selling. I was asked if flooring was all that I was re doing in my new place. I explained I was painting the inside and out and all new carpet and tile and fixtures to update it. I was told they do it all in the store I could hire them to take care of the entire remodel. It took 60 days to receive just a quote on the tile, wood, and carpet for my new home and I never got anyone to show up to measure so I could get a quote on the home for sale. They made plenty of appointments that nobody showed for which is super unprofessional and cost me time off work and money. They seemed to be filled with excuses for everything that went wrong. Long story short we never ended up going through with any of the flooring with this business and they gladly refunded all of the flooring money I had paid to them so far after Sherry and her crew had proved themselves to be extremely dishonest on hours of video that was recorded while they were in my home. I would only recommend this company to someone you absolutely hate! So Tim I know your cooking up some super aggressive response to this but you should be happy I left out most of the details. Sherry runs her other business out of fashion floors as if it was a part of fashion floors. Due to the order of which remodeling the inside goes in she convinced me to get the paint started before the flooring. She said she was sending a married couple crew that worked for her for ten years over and she said that he even had an art degree. Instead she sent uninsured strangers she found off Craig's list who took almost triple the time I was quoted and still never finished the job which was just to paint an office!!!. She lied about them being married , having an art degree, and lied about them working there for 10 years, and of course about the insurance!! It's really hard to want someone to finish after finding out this is their first job with Sherry and when they never show up when they say they will, take a Billion smoke breaks, whine excessively, and paint bubbles and pubic hair/dirt into your cabinets. Had that gone differently your business would have had an estimated 64,000 flooring job in just the new home. That was not even counting the floor in the old home. May want to ask yourself is that is the kind of person you want in a management position??? She was by far one of the most manipulative/dishonest people I have ever done business with! **Update to previous review** Just to be clear, all of the things mentioned in the company's "response" to my review are completely untrue. I NEVER brought in a tile sample from another store, Sherry NEVER explained why tile samples hadn't arrived (much less mentioned that she couldn't find any), and I NEVER specified a supplier I wanted to work with. I simply gave Sherry multiple pictures of different tile styles I liked and believed her when she said she would order some samples for me to look at. I would have willingly been a paying customer given the opportunity, however, I also believe that customer service should happen PRIOR to a purchase, and not just when you've made a mistake. I wanted to write this experience off as Fashion Floors dropping the ball on my project, however, now I've realized they are dishonest as well. We had an excellent experience with Fashion Floors. Mike helped us pick out good quality oak flooring that was reasonably priced. The installation took longer than expected, but that was because some of the trim that was sent with the flooring did not match very well. We appreciate the attention to detail and prefer to have a delay of a couple of days than to have to live with a less than perfect job. Our house is built on a slab and it took twice as much quickset as expected to level the subfloor, but we were not charged extra for the time to level the floor or for the extra materials. Mike was great to work with, very responsive and willing to go the extra mile to make sure that the customer is satisfied. Next time we need new flooring, we will definitely be back. read more

I don't ever write reviews but this one is necessary. There are so many flooring/carpet stores to use in Austin so do yourself a favor and GO TO LITERALLY ANY OTHER COMPANY BUT THIS ONE! Worst experience ever. After being sold a product the manager Tim later admitted he knew nothing about, we had to have them come back twice after installation due to lifting and shifting all within a 3-4 week period. After a full inspection, it was proven that it was not a product defect as he claimed it was but rather a lack of knowledge on proper installation. After many argumentative conversations between him and my husband (who had to take off lots of extra work time to accomodate the labor crew & Tim's miscommunication on times), I decided to take over. Tim's arrogance and hot temper literally SCREAMED at me, the paying customer because I wanted to speak to his coworker Andrea regarding possibly getting a better experience moving forward since Tim wasn't very kind. When I asked him if this was normal to have workers come back 2-3 times after installation within a few weeks of installation (meanwhile all or stuff was in the livingroom and our family was living out of boxes for weeks), he yelled at me "YES, IT'S CALLED CONSTRUCTION!!!!" I was shaking. It was beyond abusive behavior. His yelling and ranting lasted a good 10 minutes! I have never been yelled at like that in my whole life. He later gave us a discount for his "lack of politeness" after we threatened not to pay for his hot mess of a job. Andrea only defended his actions so I hold her in the same regard. I don't know how he "manages" a company with his temperment problem. I would hire a random handy man before I deal with him again. Do NOT use this company and save yourself! read more

Fashion Floors did beautiful work laying my Mohawk flooring in November 2012. We spotted a problem with two boards just before Christmas. They promptly called to make an appointment for a repair; I realized I'd have to wait until after the holidays. Again, as soon as I was ready to deal with the repair (which was a factory defect, not caused by their installers) it was done. I can't even tell where the repair was made. I have been pleased and impressed with all the Fashion Floors people who have worked at my house. I am sorry that my reviews are filtered for some reason. These people deserve high praise. read more

I had a horrible experience with Sherrie. She made an appt with me and never showed up nor did she call. When I called to reschedule, she was supposed to show up with tile samples. She did not. She did measure my floors but I've yet to get the results of that measurement. I cannot recommend this company to anyone. There is no service involved. read more

Let me first say that Fashion Floors did a fine job on our indoor carpet. But they were completely disastrous on our outdoor patio stairs. First, it was installed very sloppily with the ends completely bent upwards and not attached to the stairs at all, with glue dripping off the ends, large tears in the carpet itself, and frayed ends. There was such poor communication between the installers, Fashion Floor agents, and us that it took months for them to reorder the carpet and reinstall. Constant miscommunications, bad attitudes, snafus, etc. Once they tried to fix it, it was worse than before. They came out a 3rd time to fix it and installed carpeting we didn't ask for, the ends are still not attached to the stairs, hardened glue is visible and was dripped all over the ground and the railing. Horrible work. To top it off, the attitude of those at the store was as though we were a pain to deal with. We just wanted it done reasonably well, which they were never able to do. Finally threw our hands up. These guys are fine for simple jobs, but if they have a job with any amount of thought involved, forget it. read more

Our experience with Fashion Floors in April of 2017 and throughout our project has been outstanding. We had a horror story of water ruining a whole house of wood installed with a different company and we had to rip it all out. Andrea Johnson (our salesperson) was very understanding of our situation and worked hard to help us through a very tough transition living in a house full of cement dust and broken wood to get us going on a new floor. Backed by Tim Shanahan (owner), Andrea helped us through some difficult product selections given our previous was discontinued, along with doing a new master bath in tile with unique placements, as well as delaying one room entirely until we were ready for it months after the majority of the house had been done. A long story short which was full of scary details, they led us through the process and our floor is better than we ever imagined it could look. Additionally the delayed room was done seamlessly and the master bathroom turned out also better than we had hoped. Andrea Johnson is one of the best I've seen at being unafraid to be accountable for her work, and the owner completely backs her as needed with her decisions and accountability. I just had the carpet in one room replaced with laminate flooring. I was not surprised to learn that the concrete under the carpet was very uneven and took considerably more prep than had been anticipated. I could tell that Jeff (my salesman) was chagrined to have to tell me of the changes to the bid, but I already knew that the installers were doing an excellent job. (And I'd already found other aspects of the house addition that had been very poorly done, so this news was not surprising.) The new floor looks great. And, I always love it when the work crew cleans up after themselves. All of the work was completed as promised (even with the extra work needed). Like another reviewer, I had just painted the room. The crew was very careful to not mar the paint job and used my extra paint to match the floor moulding. read more

I had Fashion Floors install tile in my bathroom, kitchen, and dining room. Tim helped me choose a tile and was extremely patient with me when I was incredibly indecisive. They had the tiles within a week or so and came out shortly thereafter to install. Sergio did the installation and was great. He was very courteous, knowledgeable, and fast. He did an excellent job and spent a lot of effort making sure everything looked just as I wanted. He also cleaned up afterwards very well (this is something most people don't seem to do and it always drives me nuts). I had major water damage to my home and had to replace a lot of damaged laminate flooring. After shopping at 4 other places and being told that nothing in real wood was in my price range, I went to Fashion Floors and Mike Brodlowicz the sales associate turned that myth upside down. He was very knowledgeable and so polite and understood my budget and needs and answered all my concerns. I was able to replace my laminate with hardwood flooring in my budget. Mike came out the same day and measured. The floors came in fast once I ordered them and installation for almost 1000 sq ft happened in 1 day the weekend before Christmas! Victor and the installation crew were very professional and moved furniture and left everything spotless. I am so happy with my experience with Mike and Victor and the installation crew.
