So, we developed an informal prospectus based on this assumption. Sometime later, we happened upon a poster advertising That 1 Painter, a licensed and bonded enterprise based in the Treasure Valley. Their reviews were strongly favorable and more so noteworthy was that T1P had been voted Best of Idaho twice (among many other plaudits)! So, when we were ready we contacted them with the intention that they would provide us with our first estimate. We were visited by Ruth Brinton, a professional house painter and owner of T1P. She presented well with confidence and comprehension. She looked at many things that we would have likely overlooked. She made many observations and shared her thoughts with us. She also looked at the property and made recommendations regarding colors to not only enhance the house, but also to optimize the use of colors that would give balance and compliment to the property on the whole. The next day, we received the detailed estimate for the job. We were stunned to learn that T1P would do the job for well below our most auspicious estimates! All the information we had gathered convinced us that we did not have need to solicit another estimate. Within a month's time (from initial contact) our house was very nicely and professionally cleaned, prepped and painted. The crew performing the work were polite, friendly and professional. Because 21st Century is so popular with local school districts and commercial clients, their summer schedule fills up fast. However, they promised they could start our project in August during the first week of school, and they delivered right on schedule. Throughout the planning phase, they were incredibly responsive to all my questions and accommodating whenever I needed to update our project scope. When work began, the execution was incredible. They initially estimated the job would take between a week and a half to two weeks. For our nearly 3,200 sq. ft. home, we stayed at a nearby Airbnb expecting a longer process, but their team was so efficient they started on Monday and wrapped up completely by Saturday! The quality of work was outstanding, and their customer service is truly top-notch. As a self-proclaimed perfectionist, I was amazed when I did my initial walkthrough. There were only a few minor spots that needed touch-ups; everything else looked flawless. The owner, Gary, and project manager, Mike, maintained excellent communication and knew the exact status of the project at all times. The crew was courteous, respectful of our belongings, and made sure the house was securely locked up every day. During the final walkthrough, Gary personally ensured I was 100% satisfied and had the team address the few touch-up spots right on the spot. They were so appreciative of our flexibility with scheduling that they even brought a box of donuts to the final walkthrough! We moved into a new house on the east side of Austin several months ago. While we'd had our builder…read moreinstall built-in desks and shelves in our study, we found the cost very high (and the quality lacking). Our 14' long living room wall looked very stark with its small TV cabinet and wall-mounted TV set, and we realized we needed something more in proportion with the room. So I looked on Yelp and found Josh Hager...and followed up with his website. I was impressed with the size of the projects he tackled, so figured he might be able to do a good job for us. Josh responded quickly to my first e-mail and came over within a matter of days to give us an estimate. He looked over my drawings and came up fairly quickly with a cost I found reasonable. Josh inspired so much confidence that we asked him that same evening to look at another space (upstairs) that needed a built-in. Once again, the estimate was reasonable. A week or so later, we thought of another project Josh could tackle: our master closet. Again, a reasonable estimate. We gave him deposits for all three projects. Josh is very busy, and with good reason. He does excellent work at reasonable prices, is totally honest and does not inflate the costs of materials. He uses good-quality materials (no MDF, thank heavens!) And Josh makes recommendations that improve on whatever you might have in mind, based on his breadth of experience. It's all about quality at a reasonable price. Josh uses great hinges on cabinet doors; soft close and push-button removable. Further, his estimates for both materials and labor, at least in our case, were spot-on relative to what we ended up paying. We felt it was worth waiting a few months before Josh could get to our project. Our largest projects were installed by Josh and a helper in a couple of days. The paint-grade wood and great workmanship made the wall units look so nice that we were tempted to leave them unpainted. We actually did leave the interiors of the cabinets unpainted...and they look great. Josh was able to connect us with a painting company to do the finish work within a week or so after he completed installation. The end results were phenomenal; the cabinets Josh built totally changed the look and feel of our rooms in a good way. The quality of his work and the scale of the project made the cabinets a focal point in our living room. We are very pleased and won't hesitate to call Josh again if we need any wood work. Lastly, it's now been about 4 years since our cabinets were installed and painted. I've updated my rating to 5 stars due to how well the cabinets have performed for us over the years. Side comment: I find it odd that so many reviews were screened out, given I can tell many (if not most) are legitimate, based on photos on the Triple Crown website.

The cabinets and walls needed a total refresh of paint, and all that new woodwork had tons of caulking/filling/sanding/priming etc to do. Then we needed new crown molding added to our half bath, and there were several sheetrock patches plus some ceiling cracks which needed good prepping and feathering in. Also, our front and back doors needed to be repainted. So - a lot of work! And I am picky about quality. I chose Austin Professional Painting because they seemed well organized, well qualified, and ready to go at a scale of enough workers that we could get back to living in the downstairs of our house in a reasonable amount of time. Their comfort with good quality paint was also a key factor in my choice. So: the guys who came out to do the work, Carlos and Ivan - plus another couple of guys on certain days, were very nice, polite, and extremely hard working. They did a very good job and I am satisfied with the work. I would hire Austin Professional Painters again (and probably will this fall when we get around to renewing the master bath), and I definitely recommend them. I had MP Drywall and Remodeling, owned by Mark Pitz, remodel my bathroom, and I couldn't be happier with the results. The project included removing the bathtub and installing a shower, painting the room, and installing a new sink faucet, flooring, and a door. I absolutely love my new bathroom--it's now the most comfortable and beautiful room in the house. MP Drywall and Remodeling wasn't the cheapest quote I received, but they were very reasonably priced and right in the mid-range of the estimates. I chose them because they had previously done an excellent job installing a new floor and repairing a wall at my daughter's house, and they did not disappoint. The installation time was reasonable, and Mark was diligent about keeping me informed of any delays or issues, which were minimal. The workers were friendly, skilled, and efficient, and the quality of the work really shows. I can't say enough good things about this company or this remodel. Mark was great to work with, and I never felt like he was trying to nickel-and-dime me, which I've unfortunately experienced in the past. I partnered with Mark & MP Drywall for two projects: a barn door installation and again for a much bigger garage to home office conversion. Mark is always super responsive and takes complete ownership of his projects. Even when unexpected things cropped up, Mark never tried to shirk responsibility and always worked with us to find a solution as quickly as possible. As far as quality and workmanship, he wasn't happy unless I was happy and I have no doubt that he will stand behind his work. For various reasons the project took a lot longer than expected, but at times Mark rolled up his sleeves and jumped in himself to get things over the line. I hired Eliab of The Good Tile to remove our 90s bleh kitchen floor tile, remove our backsplash…read moretile, and install over 300 square feet of new flooring tile plus new backsplash, and extensive accent wall tiling in the backsplash tile. My new floor tile has a pattern, and the backsplash tiles were 2.4" x 8" ceramic hand glaze ceramic tiles, and so neither would be easy to install unless the tile installer was very skilled. I thought the review photos on Yelp showed Eliab already has an extensive body of work done well, and I loved that he specializes in tile so I knew that he should be very competent at it. And he and his guys Salvi and Rafael were excellent! They worked hard and did very precise work. That was a ton of cuts and joints to line up perfectly with all that subway tile, and it looks wonderful. The cuts around light switches and power receptacles: also precise. He was as good as his word about showing up, doing it right, and cleaning up as they went. He earned my trust, was good to work with, and I would happily hire him again. I definitely recommend! I will post pictures for now as is - but keep in mind the construction is still going on so they will not look as great as they should. I'll try to remember to update our photos when the remodel is truly done.

Fast forward to March 2026: as we began preparing for broader home renovations, we reconnected with them for an updated whole-house quote. After hiring a handyman to take care of minor repairs around the house, we were finally ready to paint by May. Because 21st Century is so popular with local school districts and commercial clients, their summer schedule fills up fast. However, they promised they could start our project in August during the first week of school, and they delivered right on schedule. Throughout the planning phase, they were incredibly responsive to all my questions and accommodating whenever I needed to update our project scope. When work began, the execution was incredible. They initially estimated the job would take between a week and a half to two weeks. For our nearly 3,200 sq. ft. home, we stayed at a nearby Airbnb expecting a longer process, but their team was so efficient they started on Monday and wrapped up completely by Saturday! The quality of work was outstanding, and their customer service is truly top-notch. As a self-proclaimed perfectionist, I was amazed when I did my initial walkthrough. There were only a few minor spots that needed touch-ups; everything else looked flawless. The owner, Gary, and project manager, Mike, maintained excellent communication and knew the exact status of the project at all times. The crew was courteous, respectful of our belongings, and made sure the house was securely locked up every day. During the final walkthrough, Gary personally ensured I was 100% satisfied and had the team address the few touch-up spots right on the spot. They were so appreciative of our flexibility with scheduling that they even brought a box of donuts to the final walkthrough!
