I…read moreusually go on Wednesday evenings and do the beginner/intermediate class, and it's always such a good time. The building is located in a strip mall, so there will always be a place to park. I recommend arriving 15 minutes early to make sure you're on time because they WILL lock the doors once class starts to make sure we aren't interrupted. The classes usually incorporate a full-body workout with music in the background. We do a range of exercises that use the silks in assistance with the workout, but I've never only been in the air. Maybe that's for the advanced class because you definitely need good grip strength. Overall, it's a great experience, and they'll definitely be seeing me again

The atmosphere is super approachable, we forgot mats and they were quick to provide at no cost, with the silks well spaced out and a clean vibe throughout the space and equipment. Our instructor was very calm, provided easy to follow instructions and many modifications and great reminders to help get in a better headspace. I took an intro to aerial silks class and the hour flew by! It costs $25 for a drop in class which…read moreisn't bad. There's a lounge to the right when you first walk in and if you go left there's some really old lockers. But down that hallway to the main room there are cubbies. We started the class doing some warm ups before we moved over to the silks. We learned how to climb the silks, do a foot lock, inversion, and an inverted climb! I do wish the class sizes were smaller though. There were basically 2 people for every set of silks and it was hard to get help when I needed guidance on the next move. There were also a few people learning more difficult skills so the instructor was almost teaching 2 classes in 1.

I did notice however the bathrooms were clean, the floor under the Auto-Belays was nice and vacuumed. They were multiple chalk eaters around the gym doing work. Perhaps things are headed in the right direction and the challenge of having an establishment where chalk is constantly in use is a tough one. Edit: Chris reached out and provided some insight into why things look the way they do. I appreciated his time and I'm grateful that he listened.

Like she taught us the moves well but didn't give us clear indicators of when exactly we were starting our little routine each time or from what portion of the routine we were starting at. Since losing weight, I've been obsessed with getting a tight, lean and sculpted physique like a…read moresurfer or a yogi. I've always admired swimmers bodies, so I've been doing a lot of tightening exercises. Now, first of all, I've always been an adventurous person. The first of my friends to try something new, to travel by myself to strange places and even take on 30-day challenges. Surfing, the ultimate rush-inducer, seemed like a natural next challenge for me, but I am not a good swimmer. Plus I live in Phoenix, the land of lithe, spandex-clad spinning addicts--no surf boys here. I know...I know...excuses....excuses! I can go to Hawaii with my flight benefits, and I can always learn how to swim. However, getting on a plane just to learn how to surf seems like more work for me. So when I saw the Groupon for SurfSet, a new indoor surfing class for landlubber Phoenicians, I jumped at the chance to try it. All I can say is I'm not disappointed. The exercises that weave in Yoga and Pilates along with surf moves work on your core to give you that lean, flat stomach. It's also great for muscle building and balance. I was sweating like crazy, and my arms were sore! I loved it, but don't expect this place to be a huge gym because it's not. It's a small studio, but with great instructors. That's a great thing! The classes are more intimate. Another positive: You can buy Shakeology here! My protein shake of choice! :)
