Guess I didn't read the description before I came out to this place because I was very surprised when I entered and the host wanted our credit card instead of seating us at a table first. You get a beer card which is linked to the credit card you provided upon check in and then you go to the wide range of taps on the wall and fill up your glass. There's a little variety in the sizes and types of glassware to choose from. You are charged by oz, and the price is clearly displayed on the signage. I thought it was going to cost us much more to do it this way instead of sitting down and ordering a drink but we think it actually ended up being cheaper to drink this way. We decided to take a seat outside on the patio. It's a large area with games and plenty of different types of seating. You order through the QR code on the menu and your food gets delivered to your table. It came out fairly quick and we were hungry so we ordered way too much food. We tried the Mediterranean Chicken Flatbread which was really good and I highly recommend just getting that! Had the Mediterranean Salad. A nice sized portion and very fresh. Tried the 12 pc boneless wings. I don't normally like boneless wings but that is all they had. So we tried them. Not impressed. Very thick breading, no outstanding flavor. These felt like bar food, which is okay. It is a bar but in comparison to our delicious flatbread I was disappointed. Lastly we tried the Garlic Parmesan Cheese Curds. These were unlike any cheese curd I've had before. They were huge squares which felt like hunks of bread. I though they were too big and too cheesy for my tastebuds. Recently visited here for dinner around 8:30pm after a show down the road. It was an impromptu bestie evening! We actually ended up parking right near here and saw they had SQUARE cheese curds.... Ummm, we were soldddd! It wasn't busy which was really nice. Greeted by Ashley, who explained how everything worked. Man, did we want to try a few things on the menu. The cheese bread looked delicious from the photo, but decided to skip it as we wanted the cheese curds forsure . For our meals, I had the Buffalo chicken sandwich with tots and my friend had the boneless wings with fries. I cannot remember the flavors he got, but he liked them. The Buffalo chicken sandwich was good. It definitely had more fixings on it then I'm use it. The buffalo flavoring was good-- not hot, I'd say flavorful more than anything. Their menu has many different options which is good, but sometimes hard to pick. Haha! We both appreciated how they offered a non-alcoholic beer (Athletic) option on tap.... Hooray! When I'm in the area again, I'd stop in again for an appetizer and a non- alcoholic beer. I also want to mention how pleasant and personable Ashley was. She was the only staff member working the floor and she did well managing customers with a friendly attitude and smile. I thought she was attentive and loved how she took the time to chat with me. My bestie and I were in the area for show and ended up parking right in front of this restaurant. We decided to try it out basically due to proximity and the time of night it was. I don't know Eau Claire much either, so we didn't know if this was a local favorite or not. Overall, it was a great experience. Ashley was very warm and welcoming and explained how the place worked. It's self service bar and you are able to pour as little or as much as you'd like. Both of us don't drink, but we enjoyed an NA option there. Athletic beer is amazing on tap! I tried the Thursday special of boneless wings. If you get 12 you can try up to two dry rubs. I tried the lemon pepper and salt and vinegar dry rubs. My preference was the salt and vinegar one. The square curds were great and we were told they are fried in beef tallow. You can get these baked as well. My friend enjoyed her buffalo chicken sandwich. If in the area again, we would consider this as an option. read more

Very loud and crowded inside; because of that we were almost glad that there wasn't any seating available indoors so we had to sit out on the patio. BUT, sadly there were no heaters out on the patio, and sitting next to the river at night in October in WI is less than optimal. Seriously, how does a place with flames in the logo not have heaters on their patio for people that can't sit inside???? Anyway, the food was okay. Nothing I'd go back for. We went with the loaded tots, hot honey & pepperoni flatbread and the hot beef flatbread. I guess the best thing out of the three was the hot honey & pepperoni. The tots were second best. The hot beef flatbread was the worst--we ordered it with mild giardiniera and I don't know if they accidentally put the hot on but it was inedible for me (and I normally eat hot/spicy foods when dining out, so I'm not a wuss in that regard). Service was pretty decent, but there was some confusion by the servers in bringing food to the wrong tables. Honestly, if you're looking for a self-pour place that is on top of it's game, go to Bear Cave Brewing in Hopkins, MN: four floors, heating on the patio, creative kitchen menu with drool-worthy food and fabulous service. read more

Interesting experience. We were there on a weekday and provided good information on the self serve process. Enjoyed some great beverages with fair prices. Also had a pepperoni flatbread and soft pretzels. Food came out quickly and was tasty. Setting very nice, still getting completed and looking forward to outside area right next to river. A wide variety of styles of self serve beers on tap. You sign up at the door with your credit card, you then use the card to pour yourself up to 64 ounces of beer. You can choose your style of glass, you can make yourself a flight, you can have a little taster, endless options. There's some wine and a couple of premade cocktails on top as well. Seltzer. Cider. And then a bar with cocktails that you order from a menu. The food you order with a QR code from your phone. They bring the food right to your table. Flatbreads, tater tots, cheese, curds. Not really a full meal, but definitely good food for drinking beer. I've been there several times I've always liked it. There is a surface city lot next-door. Otherwise street parking. Awesome patio that they finished in the fall overlooking the Chippewa river. Nice selection of bourbon as well. They do have a private room if you wanna have an event there. It took a minute to understand the system of how to get drinks, but the staff was helpful and we had a very fun night here. They had a huge variety of beers, wines and a full bar. The happy hour beer specials were incredible. We enjoyed playing music bingo, something I never thought I'd say and the food was also good. Only small criticism would be that the food portions were a bit small. read more

Wow! Wow, wow, wow! This place is dangerous - in a good way. Off the charts variety of beverages. Nice and helpful staff. Super-savvy dispensing system. They use QR codes and tap-to-activate, but it didn't feel intimidating - just ask questions if you're timid regarding how everything works. Super fun open ambiance and well-lit interior. Tall large windows and "garage" doorways. Pretty cool food options. Don't start tasting liquids with an empty stomach, or you might enjoy yourself a little too much. =P read more

Lots of fun choosing your beer. Also some alcohol on tap. Tried the vodka lemonade. Delicious!! Food was delicious. Tried mango flatbread, and a spinach berry flatbread. So good. Had the pretzels with cherry jam. Jam had a little kick to it. Very tasty. Was a fun experience with a couple of friends. We tried a few taps. Challenging to pick which ones to try. Also tried thtots. For being just open, they have the food down. Beer was cold. Different size glasses for your pours. Flights available as well. They explain everything to you as check in. I went with my family and as of yet, they do not have high chairs. something to order soon.. our food took over an hour as well. i saw about 15 food items sitting out for 10+min without being delivered. the beer was very foamy. i poured a beer (come to self pour taprooms often) and it was all foam. it was not easy to get it taken off my tab. the manager started his conversation with me "in the future.." how arrogant and condescending. as if i was doing something wrong. i also said i did not care for a beer i tried and the manager's response was essentially "too bad." usually in regular restaurants they replace your beer, why is that an issue here? It just opened i realize, but in the future, tptr does not need to assume everyone is incompetent with self pour station... because we are not. I will be back for the patio. read more
