Great beer. Terrible food. My wife and I went here for a date night to check out the locals spots. The beers were great, but the food was terrible. Literally the most bland Philly cheese steak sandwiches we have ever had. They were mostly bread with very little filling. Raw white onions and the pickled jalapeños were overpowering anything else in the sandwich. Also it took 40 minutes to get them. The atmosphere was nice, but we probably won't be back. Everyone talking up the Philly cheese steak sandwiches are insane to think that these are even good. read more

Very impressive selection of beers (don'tchaknow, you betchya)! Anyway, we ordered pizza and they are 10" so basically enough for 2, but one hungry person can easily eat one. Pizza was delicious! The service was with a smile and the ambiance is super cool, looks like they have various events throughout the week. I would encourage anyone in the Eau Claire area to stop by and try them out. Review Visit: November 12th, 2024 The place to go if your stomach is growling for beer and food. 7 hour shift. 1 hour work meeting. 6 hour drive. I was in dire need of beer/food and sleep once I arrived in Eau Claire to hang with my friend Tim for a few days. It was close to 9:30pm when I arrived and our choice of places was pretty limited. Luckily The Growler Guys was still open. Upon entering a completely empty bar, the bartender greeted us and got us up-to-date on their beer offerings and a contest among local breweries they were having. Tim and I tried a few different samples before settling on a drink and some food. The contest intrigued me so I took a flight of the contestants. Tim grabbed a cider and we sat and caught up on life and nerdy things. While I was sipping my samples and Tim was enjoying his cider, our food came out. I got their Pizza Hero sub and Tim got a Calzone. The sub was okay at best. It could've been cooked a bit longer as it came out lukewarm and was floppy. For it being a 'toasted sub', it was lacking the toasting for sure. It wasn't the fullest of flavor either but I wasn't in a time and place to be needy about food. Tim said he enjoyed his calzone but it wasn't anything to rave over. The samples I had ranged from great to not good. I don't remember which ones I got but two of them were cream ales and one of those was a coconut one and that was just not my jam. The lager was decent as well as the other non-cream but overall, not typically beers I would order (aside from the lager). I cast my vote for the lager as I turned in my glasses. Any who, we sat there for about an hour and had the whole place to ourselves. A few people popped in and left but none really stuck around. I really enjoyed the vibe of the place. The bartender was fantastic at entertaining us for the little bit we were at the bar. I am addicted to milkcap pull tabs and he helped fix the machine so I could buy a few and share them with Tim. There is also a giant pile of board games to play if you come here with a group of people. Speaking of that... if I lived in the area, this is definitely a place I would push my friends to come to for hanging out. Plenty of space for drinking and board gaming with 40+ beers on tap. This was definitely a good stop for the night and a good start to a short trip to Eau Claire. read more

It's great to go with family and friends get together. I had single glass of beer but I saw that many people ordered flights.

Fun atmosphere. Indoor and outdoor seating. Pizza and beer are phenomenal! Would highly recommend!

Updated review. I love this place. The pizzas are great and go nicely with the AWESOME 48 taps of beer. They have cider and kombucha plus some can beer. If you love Coors light, then this isn't the place for you. The bartenders are super friendly and can recommend a beer for you if you are overwhelmed by the amount of choices. You can sample before you buy. Bingo on Monday, usually some type of tap takeover or distributor event on Wednesday, and several other events during the week. I have board games to play. Darts in the back. Outdoor smoking area. Join the wall of fame. You have to drink one beer out of each 48 tabs. Repeat that five times for level five. I'm working on level three. Music played at a reasonable volume so you can have a conversation. 3 TVs in front for sports, plus a couple in the back room. read more

Lots of different beers on tap here and the bartender was very happy to make recommendations and let us taste different brews. So, 5 stars for staff and beer selection! Food options are limited to mostly sandwiches and pizza, although they do come out really fast. There's not much atmosphere or character to the place. I would definitely recommend if you're just looking to have a quick beer or two. It just isn't a place I'd spend a lot of time. read more

We had a great time at this innovative brew pub and stayed for a good while on a sunny day, enjoying the patio and the indoors when it started to rain. The games for kids and adults are such a fun touch, and we all left with some cool Growler swag to take home! We have been there several times and have always had a great time. There are almost too many choices of beers, ciders and kombucha but the bar tenders are like beer genius's and can help stear you in the right direction. They will also let you taste as many as your want to make your decision. If your hungry they do have pizza and sandwiches which are also pretty good. We absolutely loved this place! They have a TON of beers to try, pretty much unlimited samples so you can figure out exactly what you want. Some people we were with are not "beer" people, but even they were pleased with everything. I loved that they were mostly Wisconsin breweries which is great because now I know of a few I need to visit! Their mini-keg growler is AWESOME!!! We were with 15 people in our party and they were very accomadating, food came out fast, and for as small as the menu was all the food was delicious, including the appetizers, pizzas, sandwiches and wings!!!! Of course my favorite was the beer, as this was the whole reason we went!!! It was also a plus that they had root beer and other non-alcoholic options for kids and adults who do not drink! This is purely a beer review. We visited on a slow Sunday afternoon and were promptly greeted and welcomed with beer samples. The bartender asked what type of beers we enjoyed and then poured samples of some of those styles. They have a large tap list which adequately accommodates anyone who enjoys a beer or two. What an amazing concept! This is a beer lovers heaven. To have the ability to taste any of the beers before trying a full glass is awesome! The staff is knowledgeable and able to point you in the direction of something you'll like. Even if you're a Miller Lite drinker! The addition of mead, seltzer, sangria and kombucha is great! I HiGHLY recommend giving it a try! ALSO they have delicious food available! We grab 3 Crowlers every time we're in town. read more

This place has an amazing, constantly changing selection of tap beer; 51 taps to be exact. They offer Crowlers (32oz cans) and Growlers (64oz jugs) to go, and normal sized glasses off the tap in house. They also make awesome pizza..almost instantaneously!! Seriously, sometimes it's on your table or ready to carry out in like 5 mins! They do have a larger menu which I haven't had the opportunity to try...yet. Most amazing is the friendly, competent service and the great hours, serving food late. read more
