In addition, a major redevelopment is underway where Toys R Us, Kmart and various small retailers once stood. Now in April 2026, finally taking the time to stop by, it's enlightening to see this mall transformed to include an Aldi's, additional shopping options, fairly clean walkways, plus some hints of natures greenery revitalizing and improving the area. Looking forward to the constructions completion expanding the options of Bruckner Commons.

Hard to believe this used to be the Loew's American movie theater that I so remember coming to in…read morethe mid 80s- where I'd rather see 'Opera' or 'Re-Animator' for $2 Mondays instead of heading home to do school work. This theater came with a long fight to keep it in the neighborhood. But things evolved. Located across the street from Macy's in Parkchester, this space has been a good addition to the area after the movie theater closed down, remained vacant for a while and retrofitted several years ago to what it is now. I like the TJ Maxx-Marshall's family- because I know I can nab some designerish items that don't come with an eye-watering price tag. Layout is tidy for the most part and kind of on the smaller side- but they make up for it with Activewear and other sections on the top floor. Despite the home section being smaller than what I'm used to seeing at other Marshall's, there's a nice selection of wicker baskets in a wide range of sizes, planters, the wood cutting boards, etc. Plus service, has been nice the few times I've been here. Things have shaped up from what this space looked like originally. And yes- I got sentimental when I reminisced about coming to the Loew's American and sneaking in to the next movie without paying. Even more nostalgic was when I saw the original Loew's 'movie poster signs' outside. Those where the days.

One of my items did not have a price. The cashier told me to step aside while she gets the price. In the meantime another customer after me also had an item without a price. She told her to wait as well. In the meantime the cashier got the price for my item. However, she checked out the other customer before me!!! She got the price for my item and told me the price but took the other customer before me!! This is so disrespectful and inconsiderate of my time. The cashiers number is either 1186 or 101260 4 3285. She didn't say sorry. On top of that while she was ringing me up she made an announcement on the mic to get people to sign up for the rewards card and just handed me my receipt. What she should do is focus on her customers. I dont have a rewards card, but she didn't ask me. She needs to get her priorities straight. I LEFT THE STORE WITH A FEELING OF DISGUST. SIMPLY HORRIBLE. By the way, I took the survey and I didnt rank it well only because this cashier doesn't know the value of the customers ad my business!!!

Parking was inconvenient, and the mall felt less organized than expected. A few shops were closed, which made the place feel quiet and unfinished. Apparently, all my Cabbage Patch dolls and countless other toys came not from a big retailer- but this shop here. Back in the day- the owner would custom order toys and even offer layaway plans for my dad. See that horse and batmobile 25 cent ride out front? I have pictures of me as a kid on it! School supplies? We got them all here. Today- this toy store is as good as ever. They have a large bike repair section, school supplies, book bags, barbies, action figures, bikes, board games, video games and lots of other cool toys. And the owner is one of the nicest guys you'll meet. He knows his store well and is really helpful. And like I said before- this is a great stop for school supplies. They stock up on all the things a kid needs around the end of August. If you live in the area- this is definitely a place worth visiting.
