I've been wanting to try the yogurt everytime I come here and finally had the chance. I ordered the regular coffee and shared it with my 2 friends. It tasted more like a soft servce ice cream than the tart fro yo you get at Red Mango or Pinkberry. One of my friends compared it to gelato. Overall not bad. 40 carrots is the best place for light lunch and dinner and dessert :) I like their daily special salads, no-mayo tuna sandwich, and grilled chicken sandwich. Every time when I go here, I feel like I'm getting healthier. I usually start with their fresh carrot juice then salad or sandwich. For my dessert, a.k.a frozen yogurt. I like to get a coffee yogurt with a scoopful walnut or granola on top! I also like their plain yogurt with lots of fresh fruit too.. I agree that foods aren't that cheap as portion but the quality of food and dessert is def. worth it :) read more

Terrible. I have been working in this mall for over three years and the service has gotten increasingly worse. I ordered an overpriced smoothie and it took 20 minutes of my 30-minute break. The employee clearly did not know what he was doing and nobody apologized to me for the 20-minute wait. Tasty food, smoothies and fresh juice - located in the corner of the Bloomingdales (women's dept) at the Chestnut Hill mall. I'm thinking that the sit-down service is your best bet here. The take out line was somewhat of a disaster when I was there, but they may still be working out the kinks. You can buy pre-made salads and sandwiches (three options each), frozen yogurt (seemed to be the popular option), smoothies and freshly squeezed juice. I think they were short on help (Saturday afternoon), so the manager was running the checkout - I couldn't quite figure out where the hold-up was, but it was incredibly SLOW. Then when you have your food and you've paid, there weren't any napkins/utensils (and they couldn't find any out back). Despite all of this, everyone was very friendly. I must have hit them on a bad day. I had the chicken salad wrap and A-B-C juice (apple, beet, carrot). The sandwich was decent/good - probably not worth the $8, but it hit the spot. Oh, make sure they ring you up for the correct amount. The manager originally rang up the sandwich as $10 and then didn't know how to take the $2 off to get to the actual price (again - working out the kinks). The A-B-C juice was great - tasty, refreshing and filling. Sweet, but not overpowering, and you can definitely taste the beet (but I'm a beet fan). They make the juice right in front of you. Some people might not want to pay $5 for a 16oz glass, but it's Bloomies...I don't think they need to worry about the cost-conscious crowd. All-in-all, if I'm at the mall, I'd definitely stop in again for either lunch or a juice. Hopefully they'll have the kinks worked out by that point. read more

Came here with my friend for a late lunch midday on a Tuesday. She has a newborn baby who cries a lot and we wanted to take a break and treat ourselves. The music wasn't loud but the chatter of the (mostly) ladies there was enough to cover up the sound of the baby crying. The women sitting closest were moms and understanding about the baby's crying. We were able to scoot over our two-top table to make room for the stroller and still leave a wide walkway. What a perfect place for us! I had the fruit & veggie salad with grilled chicken which was delicious. Our server didn't come around often but he was friendly when he was there and they didn't hurry us out. There are restrooms nearby with a changing table in one of the stalls. Parking was in the mall parking lot, available right outside of Bloomingdales. Overall a good experience and I would be happy to go back and get that salad again! read more

For the froyo, it's great, for the soup it's pretty good, for the sandwiches it is god awful. Dry, crumbly bread and bland all around. Horrible establishment. The family I work for loves the food however due to covid we have been doing lots of take out. They never answer the phones, they're on Grubhub but every time I try to place an order I get a notification that it has been canceled. I typically don't write poor reviews on yelp and it pains me to do this, however, after my last experience at 40 Carrots I have to. 40 Carrots is an upscale restaurant in an upscale store. So, you'd accept top-notch service, right? Wrong! I experience better service at Fast Food restaurants than I did the other day at 40 Carrots! Two of my girlfriends and I decided to meet up for a lunch reunion and picked 40 Carrots to dine at. One girlfriend got there before me and was already seated with a drink. I had come directly from running errands and was so thirsty! I asked my friend to order me a lemonade in advance as I was on my way. I got there...no drink. My girlfriend couldn't locate the server! So, I sit down and wait it out. 10 minutes later...no sign of the server.The restaurant is very small so you'd think the server would be easy to locate...wrong! I finally grab a different server and ask if he could kindly bring my server over. Server comes over and I finally order my drink. Ok, now I have my drink while we patiently wait for our other friend. Our other friend arrives, however, once again we are waiting and waiting for the server. I even catch a glimpse of the manager who sees us waiting and looking all over for the waiter and turns her back. Finally, AGAIN we ask the other server to grab our waiter for us. He says OK and we wait. A few moments later we are approached by a DIFFERENT server. Huh? Our previous server had disappeared at this point....not that we're complaining! Our new server takes our order and we wait...and wait...and wait...for our food. Our food took a VERY, VERY long time to come out (3 pm on a weekday afternoon). Finally when it did my friend said her turkey burger was not fresh tasting and sent it back. My other friend and I got caesar salads. My friend thought it was OK. I didn't think it was bad. At the end we got froyo for desert. It was yummy (typical froyo). It's the only reason why this review is getting 2 stars! Needless to say I won't be returning to 40 Carrots! read more

I love love love love this place. The yogurt is delicious and the food is light, super healthy, filling and yummy!!!! I prefer the plain yogurt... not too sweet and perfectly tart.. paired with the fruit salad :] Their daily specials are always good and definitely try their 40 Carrots Chopped Salad (with the grilled chicken) I'm SOOO glad that this place opened in Bloomy's... I love taking the yogurt to go to finish the day shopping with it :] yum! I wouldn't recommend going at night tho, the last time I went was before closing and their fruit/veggies smoothies were missing ingredients and so were their salads. Terrible service. We should have just walked away after no one seated us after waiting for ten minutes. Once we were seated our waiter forgot to give us water and I had to get to flag him down. A man in a suit working there seemed to aimlessly wander around without helping customers. I had the veggie burger. Seriously not impressed with the yogurt at this place. This is a review of the $8 small yogurt I had here because that is what I had. I did not have any of the food choices so I can not comment on that and why I did not give a lower score. First of all for $8 small yogurt the cups choice be lined in 14 kt. I guess I have Been used to the deli opus tartness of other frozen yogurt establishments so this one with barely any flavor and tasteless fruit really did not do it for me. The baked goods looked way better so may e I would recommend tryin one of those and they had glutten free brownies that looked good too. It seems that many ofthe other menu items got better reviews so if you are liking for a tart frozen yogurt this is not your place but taste the other flavors beforee committing is my advice. read more

They have delicious salads and great juices but you do have to watch that they don't skimp on ingredients. I HATE when a menu clearly states all ingredients and any one of these ingredients are left off the final product. Last time I was there I ordered a juice, one that I have ordered many times before and this time they left out one of the key ingredients. I asked them about it and they very flippantly said they were out of it. I then requested a refund. They looked at me puzzled and then asked me. "you want a refund because we didn't have parsley for your juice?" I said, "yes!" Another person behind the counter then told me to wait a moment - she then came out with a huge bunch of parsley from the back. Loved the crab salad, the frozen yogurt and most surprisingly.. the TEA!! 40 Carrots originated from NYC, dishes here are delicious and designed for health-conscious people. It's also known for its frozen yogurt, I'd recommend the raspberry flavor and original! What really blew me away though was their tea!! As a tea lover, I always order tea for lunch and the tea selection by Tavalon (carried by 40 carrots) is by far the best I've had in town! I approached the manager and inquired about the tea maker, it seems like Tavalon is also a NYC based company and has partnered up with multiple restaurants in Bloomingdale's in most major cities. I came here yesterday for the first time with boyfriend Bobbi. We were shopping at the Atrium Mall and the Mall at Chestnut Hill, and decided to stop by here for lunch. The restaurant is in the fashion end of Bloomingdales (not the apparel side) and is really cute and bright. The service was decent, but I felt that the prices were a little high due to its location I assume. But my veggie burger and side salad were so yummy that I would definitely come back if I was in the area. The boyfriend got a BLT with the carrot salad. His only complaints were the rough napkins and the microwaved bacon. They have a great selection of beverages too, and we were sad to skip the raved about frozen yogurt due to our full bellies. i come to boston at least once a year and this is the first trip i've been to 40 carrots and i LOVE it. the fresh juices and salads and soups are so fresh, altho not cheap eats. but you get way more in my mind in quality of offerings than in any restaurant. the juice with carrot, apple, spinach (& parsley i think?) was frothy, fresh & de-lish! i have been to 40 carrots 3 times in two weeks! i LOVE the carrot soup. im sure my vision is already improving. if you say taste and flavor is less than par here, then you probably eat greasy fatty foods regularly. the mango chicken salad could use a bit of a salty or spicy kick, but the chicken was moist and plump and this salad has goat cheese and sweet pecans (i think) and is a big portion. and for whomever said it's for ladies who lunch(??!)-not true. my dad loves the quesadillas and has had them twice in the past three visits. i think the salads are about $15+/-, but sometimes i want a specialty and thoughtful menu with incredible juice offerings, and don't mind a higher price. love this place and wish i could eat here everyday! read more

This place wasn't bad. I got the veggie burger and my only complaint really is that the bun was over toasted. It practically cut the roof of my mouth! It also had this strange herb on it that kept flaking off all over the place so I had to wipe my mouth and hands after every bite. The veggie burger had a lot of flavor and it came with a small leafy salad with a creamy balsamic dressing. The best part of the meal though was dessert! The PERFECT addition to this mall, I was totally shocked by how good the food was. The carrot soup was delicious, and the trio platter - a generous scoop of egg, tuna and chicken salad over greens with a yummy breadstick - was super. The plates aren't cheap, but they're large enough to share. The strawberry cheesecake fro-yo with rasberry topping was a perfect treat. Also, the service was stellar. Great place to grab lunch or a frozen yogurt while you are shopping around Bloomies, or the mall. Their sandwiches are great, both the tuna and chicken salad are very good and fresh. Their chicken lemon soup is my absolutely favorite soup ever. I love it so much and am so upset when they don't have it sometimes. Their frozen yogurt is great too, but they are huge! The smoothies are amazing too. It is a little bit expensive, but what do you expect? The food is fresh and the restaurant is nice and clean and you can take it to go if you don't want to sit down. Pleasantly surprised! Stopped in on a weekend for lunch, managed to get in before the crowd arrived - just as well, because service was indeed on the slow side (if polite and pleasant). The turkey burger was amazing. The patty was nicely spiced, the bread was fresh and delicious, and the portion was huge - I took half home to enjoy the next day. Kids' meals were overpriced, $10-12 for grilled cheese, chicken fingers etc., but at least they include a drink and a yoghurt. Hey, it's Bloomingdales. USE CASH WHEN EATING HERE. This passed weekend my friend and I went here for lunch. The place looks cool, very chic. When we sat down we waited a few minutes and our server came over. Our server was not very friendly or accommodating throughout the meal. No drink refills no asking if we enjoyed our meal. I will say my salad was very good but not worth the price for a small salad in my opinion. The worst part came well after we left the restaurant. I got home and happened to check out my bank statement as I had done some major shopping with my card. I see that my meal was charged twice. I was not very happy my friend and I had split the bill using both of our cards. I called them and explained and they told me the manager was not there. I said "on a Saturday?" the guy told me no call back tomorrow or leave a message. I left a message with my name and phone number. The next day I waited and no call from the manager. Then around 3:00 I called again. Again they told me the manager was not there. So you mean to tell me on a Saturday and Sunday the manager is not there? That doesn't make any sense. So I started to question them and they HUNG UP ON ME! I called back they put me on hold then hung up again. Finally I called my bank and they said if it posts twice they would file a claim against the restaurant. Luckily it did not post twice but what if it had? How can a restaurant run with that kind of service?!?!?!? Worst of all it's in Bloomingdales! I will not go back to this place again. The service was so bad that when I received the yogurt I ordered, it came out melted. I had to go to the register to get my check since my server just disappeared.
