This bakery is underrated, they make the best raspberry jam cookies. The girl and boy who work there look identical but aren't related and are really sweet. They keep bread baking throughout the day, enveloping the area with a cloud of aroma.

Came here for the first time today and was very impressed. I initially came in for cupcakes for myself but wanted to try other things if they looked appealing. I was greeted once I came In by a very nice young woman who was super helpful as a first timer. She was gracious and happy to help me, such a true rarity in Boston these days. I liked the cupcakes, but I actually think the homemade Oreo cookie and the banana bread were the strength for me. Lovely! I wish I got more banana bread when I was there!!!!

Delicious, homey baked treats. Food I've tried: - WALNUT CURRANT SCONE ($2.95): very nice and crumbly scone - simple, yet delicious. - BUTTERMILK BISCUIT ($4.50): this is a crumbly biscuit, with a bit more springiness in the dough than the scone. Initially I thought that the dough was a tad too salty, but the more I ate, the more the salt paired well with the butter. - For the price, both pastries were generously portioned, especially the scone. They have rotating scone flavors throughout the week. I was also sad to find that at times my two favorite pastries (scones and biscuits) were sold out by the end of the day when I visited. Atmosphere: - Small amount of seating inside, around 3 tables. It is definitely a take out place rather than a dine in location. Decor is very homey. Service: - The staff are friendly. Overall: - Great bakery, with delicious bread for a reasonable price.

    Butter horn danish

A fairly small store in Roslindale Village that honestly wasn't impressive. I came here on a weekday morning to check out their bread and pastries. I wanted to get a croissant, but they all looked pretty burnt. Instead, I opted for a butter horn danish and 2 1lb white batards. They have a $10 credit card minimum, so keep that in mind. The danish wasn't super flakey, but it was pretty sweet with the sugar and icing on top. One of the batards I got had a burnt end. You can get them presliced or unsliced, I chose unsliced to try to keep the bread fresher. They just stick your items in a brown paper bag. The batard was a semi-hard, chewy loaf that would be great toasted. Maybe it was an off day for them, so I guess I'll have to try out something different if I go back next time.

Their bread is awesome, as are their pastries. Ordering was a little bit wonky as it was unclear who/where I was supposed to order from.

Last week, we decided to order a whole pie online. I tracked the order and was amazed that the driver was on his way within 20 minutes of receiving the order. We asked ourselves, How is this possible? Unfortunately, the pizza arrived cold. That's how it was possible for the driver to arrive so quickly. Clearly, they sent us a pre-made pizza. Lesson learned: DON'T ORDER CLOSE TO CLOSING TIME. They probably were dying to end their shift so they sent us a cold pie. DISAPPOINTED. The pizza is good but if I return, it will be for a slice, only! I'll keep looking for the right place to order delivery from.

Well, i haven't been back to those other stores for much of anything since xD The prices are higher than you can see at a box store, but really **not significantly** if you are usually shopping organic / small batch / local products, and their selection in that regard is pretty stellar. It reminds me of what WF used to be back in the day, just much, much smaller. I have bought so many things there I never would have found elsewhere that have become staples. Pita bread, ice cream, breakfast meats, teas, chocolate, milk (of course), (surprisingly) great canned foods, marshmallows, niche snacks, APPLES, fair trade bananas that are the best I've had. The list goes on and on. Clearly they aren't impacted by the deli related reviews, and I'm so glad for it. I hope they keep on doing their thing forever.

The complex that Ula is in is super cute, there is typically plenty of parking. It's also right on the orange line, so there is easy access. We returned hoping we would have the same positive experience as the day before. When we approached the register, two employees were standing together talking. We stood directly in front of the register for about five minutes, waiting to place our order. During that time, neither employee greeted us, acknowledged our presence, or said something as simple as, "We'll be right with you." The older employee remained leaned over the counter, continuing her conversation while casually writing on the countertop instead of acknowledging us or taking our order. The younger employee looked in our direction several times, and it appeared she wanted to help us, but the conversation continued. After waiting several minutes without any acknowledgment, we decided to leave. As we were walking out, a white customer entered the bakery and was enthusiastically welcomed by the older employee with a cheerful, "Hello, welcome." That contrast was upsetting and made us feel overlooked and unwelcome. While I cannot know the employees' intentions, the difference in how we were treated left us questioning whether race played a role in our experience. It was especially disappointing because we had enjoyed our visit the day before and returned expecting the same welcoming atmosphere. No customer should feel invisible when entering a business. A simple greeting or acknowledgment would have made all the difference. I hope you will take this complaint seriously, review what occurred, and remind your staff of the importance of treating every customer with the same level of courtesy, respect, and professionalism.
