This is the 2nd time I've been here. It's my bestie's favorite breakfast spot! It gets busy on the weekends, so plan accordingly, and there is a parking lot on the side of the building. Very surprised that at the time of writing this, this spot only has three stars. Fresco is a super cute local spot serving fresh food that is well seasoned at a reasonable price in a clean environment, and honestly that's all I can ask for in a restaurant these days! We came on a Sunday afternoon and only had to wait about five minutes for our table, we knew what we wanted to order when we sat, and we were able to place our order immediately. Everything we got was delicious, the home fries were well seasoned and they have the perfect double fried French fries which gets a big thumbs up from me. Review of Fresco in Needham I've had many delightful meals at Fresco--the food quality is consistently outstanding, and it's clear that the kitchen takes pride in what they serve. It's a place I genuinely enjoy returning to, and I appreciate the creativity and care that goes into the menu. That said, I believe a touch more consistency in service would elevate the overall experience. There are small details that, when overlooked, can detract from an otherwise excellent meal. For instance, when ordering soup, it's not uncommon for it to arrive without a bottom saucer, without crackers, or even without the proper spoon--sometimes a teaspoon is provided instead of a soup spoon. These may seem minor, but they affect the comfort and presentation of the meal. Similarly, the napkins--while of good quality--are often given sparingly. One napkin for a full meal feels insufficient, especially considering how affordable they are. A small investment in providing more would go a long way in enhancing the dining experience. There's also some inconsistency in how dishes are presented. When ordering a salad, sometimes it arrives with beautifully toasted pita pieces, the kind you'd expect with a gyro. Other times, it's served with a wrapped pita in plastic, even if you have ordered the former, which feels less fresh and less thoughtful. These variations can be surprising, especially when you've come to expect a certain standard. Today, for example, I ordered two avocado toast sandwiches--one with scrambled eggs and one with sunny side up. Both egg preparations were done perfectly, and the quality of the ingredients was excellent. However, I had specifically asked for no capers, and both sandwiches arrived with capers. Additionally, I had requested sandwiches, which implies two slices of bread per order, but what I received was a single slice topped with eggs and capers. Again, the flavors were wonderful, but the execution didn't match the request. These are not complaints so much as observations from someone who truly enjoys what Fresco offers and wants to see it shine even brighter. The team clearly cares, and the food speaks for itself. If a bit more attention were paid to the finer points of service and order accuracy, it would take an already great experience and make it exceptional. Kudos to the Fresco team for delivering on a disappearing concept: a reasonably-priced breakfast-centered diner. The food is quite excellent, and the staff is welcoming and attentive, especially to families with young children. Crayons and placemats are offered for drawing, but even better is that the staff succeeds in connecting with the kids. Food is served fresh and hot, not waiting under heat lamps. If you wondered why there's not a lot of people eating here and why the reviews aren't good, it's mostly the poor customer service. Our meal was messed up. Frescos has the most delicious breakfast and lunch food around. The food is fresh, well flavored and consistent. They grill the moistest chicken breast for the Greek salad and the feta hunk is to die for. Breakfast menu is extensive and I am waiting for the day they make their own hash for their hash offerings-I know they can do it!!:) The prices are reasonable and the staff are always friendly. Best eggs Benedict i've had in years..Eggs were perfect, turkey bacon was very tasty and the english muffin was over the top! not your standard flat muffin but plump, moist and perfectly toasted! Even the home fries were actually homemade..chunky, fresh potatoes not from a bag...The service was fast and friendly and the price was very reasonable...they could be charging a lot more for this quality.And since covid-19 they have remodeled nicely and their is much more space between the tables...I would give them 6 stars if i could read more

I was excited to dine at Fresco's yesterday as it had been a great "neighborhood" restaurant with great food, friendly waitstaff and reasonable prices. Sad to say the experience was far from pleasant. The tomato and cheese omelette came with no cheese, was dry, had unidentifed green pieces in it, and much smaller than it used to be. My friend's monte cristo was short an ingredient as well. Service was slow and with the language barrier (waitress did not speak English well enough to know the difference between ketchup and maple syrup) we had to ask for everything twice. Then the bill came and we paid in cash. We were shied change as we were told they "round up" on the bill as they have no coins - so our waitress pocketed our coin change. We were not told in advance, nor is this "policy" written anywhere. It was so dishonest and with the food being terrible, I'll never ever go back - and I'd been going there for over twenty years. When we walked in the sign read "Please sit yourself". Yet the empty tables were still dirty (used plates everywhere). The lady greeting & serving had such an attitude. I really wanted give more stars, but I've been coming here since I was a kid and the service has always been lackluster. There was a sign saying seat urself, but we were sat by a hostess. Our table was sticky. In between ordering drinks, food and the check the service was slow (just like it was 10 years ago). The food was actually pretty great, honestly better than I remembered. The problem with it: so much grease in it, NASA scientists are struggling to figure out how they injected so much oil into it. The service for a to go order was Awful. Both waitresses sitting in the back booth eating or counting their change seemed so incredibly put out by the fact that a patron was actually ordering a simple sandwich 1/2 hour before they were supposed to officially close. I should never have left her a tip on that to go order After they put him fighting with painted the menu pricing was wrong and that I know she paid $2 more than what is stated on the menu. Horrible. Fresco is a standard family run breakfast restaurant. You know exactly what you are getting, and there are all the standard breakfast options on their menu. The restaurant is bigger inside than it looks, but they are a little slow. For being in needham the prices are still rather low. They are also one of the only breakfast spots in the area, so you may run into a line. It is kid friendly, good for families. Food is good, worth going for breakfast. read more

While visiting family in Needham, my brother, sister, mother, and I were looking for a lunch spot and decided to check out Fresco since it had many favorable reviews on Yelp and Urban Spoon. We were pretty disappointed. Ambiance: 1 out of 5 Fresco has some nice outdoor seating. Each table comfortably seats approximately 5 people and has an umbrella. The inside of the restaurant, however, is pretty dingy. There are tall booths with cracked fabric seats. The kitchen is situated in back of the restaurant and is open, the view of which takes away from the experience more than it adds. It seemed that the employees were kind of just hanging out there. Food: 1.5 out of 5 Salmon Omelet: 0.5 out of 5 My sister ordered the salmon omelet and the eggs were overcooked and rubbery brown. The salmon looked all right. She left 75% of her food. Grilled Chicken Sandwich: 2 out of 5 The chicken was all right and the honey mustard dressing was good. My sister pointed to the tomato, which was a pale pink color, and said "tomatoes are not supposed to look like that." Overall, the sandwich was just okay. Onion Rings: 2 out of 5 We ordered a serving of onion rings for the table and they were tasted like one of the lower-grade frozen-to-fryer onion ring varieties. This is my first review of many; I hope! My family and I are small town food connoisseurs. My parents are from Ireland and have trained me to enjoy every morsels as well as every atmosphere. Fresco in Needham is a great family restaurant. It is quite small, and on a busy Sunday you could have a wait. I would say that it's worth the wait. The food is very fresh and the portions are the right size to fill my hungry Irish dad! I had the homemade corn beef hash and eggs and the highlight of any meal here is the homemade bread. Best greek salad with chicken that I've ever had in my life! I love this place...the large chunk of feta cheese and oregano is amazing on top of this incredibly fresh and crisp salad. Driving through the lovely burbs of Needham and starving, a question arises. Where to eat? I have 8.27 and a pocket full of lint. What's this a see a small and cheery storefront that services breakfast. Let's take a chance I can afford it, if not I'll have to sit near the front door. A family run restaurant, I think they are Greek, which is good for me. I love feta, tomato, spinach, and olive omelette, but not today. When trying a new place I have to go with a traditional stand by. Coffee 2.5 stars, bland and diner-ish, but for the caffeine I will drink you. breakfast 4.5 stars, 2 eggs ham toast home fries, very good, not a greasy spoon and I'm still very full. Great service with a warm and friendly server. A little noisy in the kitchen, I think it was the brothers arguing over the Red Sox, but it's a family restaurant so what's a little sibling rivalry.
