Very bustling environment on a Friday night. Salads are lacking the classy presentation but the seared tuna and grilled scallops were really well done. Some of the restaurant staff have an air that they are somewhat more impressive than they really are, but the diner holds the real truth. They have strong variety in their menu set, and a caring manager/owner who made a personal visit to our table, but I felt that they are still a less than median value for the money. read more

Greeted at the door by host/manager? Server offered drink, brought my wine and helped me decide among entrees. I chose the spots. They were meh served with zucchini with marinara that tasted suspiciously like Ragu and bland rice. Server never came back to offer 2nd glass of wine or check on me. Ordered a delmonico steak for lunch. Medium rare. Received a well done burnt steak. Veggies doused in oil/butter. Salad is greens with one small piece of cucumber and two small tomatoes. Dressing was good. Waited for the waitress to come back, I didn't want to eat the steak...waited and waited... finally gave up and ate it because everyone else at the table was well into their entrees. Terrible. I went here with a friend for the first time. We both had the veal linguine and it was one of the best meals I had in a long time. The stuffed banana pepper app r timer was outstanding. Th blue berry chambourg cheesecake and the bread pudding was out of this word. The service was impeccable. I stopped in last night and sat at the bar - some places frown upon eating at the bar - not 424. The service was great - the 2 ladies behind the bar were very attentive and provided excellent service. The seafood gumbo was off the hook - I give it a 6 out of 5. Then there was The Mascarpone Cheesecake - words or stars cannot describe how delicious this is. I was told that this is an in-house homemade specialty. Bottom line - This is a must go to destination if you like to enjoy good food and live anywhere in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. read more

Wanted to like this place but service was poor and food was just ok. Waited a long time to have our order taken and the waitress asked "is water ok?" Rather than "may I get you something else besides water?" Which seemed odd. We did want wine and even tried to hail her down for a second round during meal but she was too engaged in conversations behind the bar with fellow employees so we had our second round at home after. We had an amusing situation with the "garden" salad. It was a handful of mixed greens plunked down without being torn up, one cherry tomato, one black olive, and one cucumber slice . I ordered a "vinaigrette" but it was just vinegar that pooled at the bottom of the plate. (You need a binding agent like oil so the dressing clings to the lettuce. And a little seasoning is also nice.) I ate a little but wasn't in to it. The host/manager(?) tried repeatedly to make up for it, which I appreciated. I feel bad to say this but honestly my overall impression of the restaurant was everybody except this one fellow really didn't care a whole lot. read more

Today we had the pleasure of going to this great restaurant. It is never easy to take a 2 year old out to lunch, but the entire staff treated us like we were family. Add to that, the food was wonderful. The fish sandwich was huge and cooked perfectly. The pasta sauce was perfect, and the chicken delicious. We will definitely go back there again. I wish I lived here where I could enjoy this place on a regular basis. I know my kids will always enjoy this place. Thanks for being so good to us today. read more

10/10 would definitely recommend. The atmosphere is casual and friendly and the food is outstanding. The crab cakes were better than any I ever had on the Maryland coast. I was pleasantly surprised about that. The prime rib was melt in your melt. read more

We tried this restaurant for the first time, and the experience from start to finish was awful. Once we were seated it took the waitress a decent amount of time just to come and take our drink orders. Trying to have a conversation is hard because the noise from the kitchen is so loud even though we were seated all the way across the restaurant by the windows, so it shouldn't have been a problem, but all we heard were dishes banging together. I ordered soup, and a salad, and my boyfriend ordered the fish sandwich. The soup, salad, and his dinner were all brought at the same time. Thankfully I had a salad as my entree or I would've had a cold dinner. They did not bring any dressing for my salad, nor did they bring him the extra cocktail sauce he asked for. The chicken, and potato wedges in my salad were so salty I couldn't eat them. They were truly awful. The waitress was not attentive enough to check and find out if we needed anything so I ate most of my salad with no dressing. The flavor of the soup wasn't bad, but they left the bay leaves in there whole, and I had to keep spitting them into my napkin. Unfortunately, not one time did our waitress come and ask how things were. I guess the next time I go into a restaurant and the table near me is complaining about the service I'll take that as good advice and not eat there. I suggest going ANYWHERE else. read more

We have been here a few times now and have had great service ,Jerry was our waiter very attentive .The food was fantastic ,I asked for scallops and Gorgonzola pasta they were not on the menu ,but I had them before. No problem they made them for me and they were Excellent .Atmosphere is always fun and busy I highly recomend !!!! read more

Terrible. My grandson ordered chicken strips. They tasted like they had been marinated in bleach and burnt rubber. They smelled putrid. Then the manager kept telling me they make them fresh daily! Our burgers were burnt and the pasta was swimming in soupy sauce. I wouldn't go again and could not recommend this place. read more

My wife and I were very disappointed with the service at the restaurant. Our server mostly ignored us. He didn't even offer us bread which was a surprise for an Italian restaurant. We would not recommend this restaurant. read more

Had a great meal here. Friendly, knowledgeable service and absolutely delicious food. The beans and greens were the best I ever had. Some in our party had the filet mignon and they said it was very good, I had the spots and really enjoyed them. The mascarpone cheesecake and bread pudding were heavenly! read more
