It's been about a month and I can't stop thinking about this place so I decided to leave my first yelp review. I would go back just for the view alone. At the top of a hill in the middle of a golf course with a huge dropoff leaves you with an almost 360 view for miles with an area overlooking the river. Then came the food. I had a delicious steak and for an app decided to try the soup of the day that I normally dislike and loved it. On top of that I also had mozzarella sticks since I'm a true fatty and ended up over eating and wish I had more room to try other things on the menu. So of course I came back the next day and had the Margherita pizza. The staff was very friendly both visits. Staff needs a little more training. Food was great. Our server took our drink menu but never brought the old fashioned. Had to go to the bar and ask for it. What do you do when 5 of 6 dinners get their meals and you try waiting for the last persons steak salad. Should we eat while our food is hot and not wait for everyone's food to be there? Twenty minutes later the salad arrived. Apparently the original one was picked up by another server. Why didn't that replacement jump to the top of the prep list? Dinner salad was not complementary but reduced by 2$. We were never asked about another round of drinks. Our water was never filled. There was never a mention of dessert. Again the food was great. Asti's doesn't fit any one category. It's a wonderful venue for celebrations like a shower, birthday party, etc. it's also a great bar to watch the Steelers (hopefully win) while enjoying a drink and some good food. It's also a good place for lunch or dinner. They can accommodate groups in their party room, back room, or dining area. We had a group of 15 for lunch, and we had a wonderful view of the city of Pittsburgh in the distance. Service is friendly and parking is free. read more

Came for a birthday gathering in April on all you can eat crab legs night. We had a reservation for 12-13. Services were good. We were told that they might not be able to accommodate all you can eat crab legs for our size party. However not everyone wanted the crabs so they were able to accommodate us. Beauty view, you can watch the sunset. I wasn't a big fan of the crab legs, but I will come back to try other menu options. read more

Asti's Italian Steakhouse is a family-owned Italian restaurant and catering banquet facility that overlooks the Monongahela River and the Grand View Golf Club. The menu lists both upscale and casual foods (e.g., salads, pizzas, sandwiches, pastas, fishes, steaks, and desserts) and non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages. So far, my husband and I have eaten two meals here. For our most recent meal, we enjoyed bread, filet mignon, asparagus, penne pasta, chicken marsala, a side salad, and banana cheesecake. The filet mignon was cooked exactly as requested and was tender and juicy. The banana cheesecake tasted phenomenal. Our waiter promptly served us and nicely spoke with us. Note that the dress code is casual, but many people celebrate special events here. read more

This place has to be the most disorganized restaurant I've ever stepped foot in. We had a 7:00 reservation for 4 people. Upon arrival, the host or funeral director informed us that "Someone called at 4:00 and canceled your reservation." Incorrect, we had reservations for 2 weeks for a 40th birthday celebration, no one canceled. He seemed irritated and insistent that someone canceled. He walked away from the station and talked to someone else in the back room area. While we were standing at the podium, we were waved towards the back. We were seated with menus. Roughly 15 minutes later, no one came to take our drink order. 20 minutes later the waitress finally made acknowledgment and said "I'll be right back." She returned and took our drink order and walked away. We've been sitting there for 20 -25 minutes at that point, we were ready to order, she could have just taken everything while she was there. She returned with drinks and walked away again. The next time we saw her, it was to be informed that they were closing down due to system issues. When I left a review on FB, instead of accepting accountability for their shortcomings, the owner said it was my fault for my saying something to the management in person. read more

We came to Asti's for the rehearsal dinner the night before my brother's wedding. The service was great and the spaciousness of the room we had was perfect for the kids that were at the dinner. We did have a buffet in the room and did not have individual meals. The buffet included chicken Parm, veggies, potatoes, and salad. Everything was very tasty. We had a great time catching up with friends and family and this was a great spot for a rehearsal dinner. read more

A little tricky to find, but well worth the trip. Beautiful views from the golf course and the restaurant was quite lively. Asti's has a big bar and it's clear that there are a lot of of regulars here. Met up with two work colleagues, and we all enjoyed our experience and meals. The salmon dinner was very good. Fantastic restaurant in Pittsburgh Pa. I'm coming from California and I'm the family event planner from way back. So I check Yelp and find a joint named Asti, I call the guy on a layover in Chicago and he turns out to be the nicest guy, he's quite successful in the industry. Stopped in to eat after a round of golf with some pals. I was famished after whupping them by so many strokes! We had salads, burgers, a fish sandwich and it was all good! Our server was an old friend of one of my buddies, and kept her eye on us. Good food, not hard on the wallet, and the great view that Grandview is known for. What is there not to love about this place? For a minute I was ordering their Sicilian pizza once a week. It's perfect and I hope they never change it. This place is perfectly tucked away and rather you're dining in or having take out they don't skimp on the quality. I've had their regular pizza and it was just as spectacular. Our server was very attentive and helpful in suggesting some of the popular dishes! Everyone in our party got pasta or a main entree. The blackened salmon dish in particular was excellent. Horrendous service! From the moment we walked into this establishment (Me, my Wife and two small children) which were quiet we were treated as if we weren't wanted. The waitress, or hostess gave us attitude and didn't even want to seat us. This establishment was almost completely empty, so you'd think they'd appreciate the business. They told us the had one spot available in the corner, then proceeded to ignore us and seat a family who arrived after us with no reservation. The staff was so polite and friendly, one of the staff gave us a mini tour of the place. The restaurant overlooks the city which is a beautiful view to look at when enjoying your meal. This place is huge, not only can you eat there but you can have private events there as well. It has lots of parking which is a plus. The food is amazing! This is my fourth time getting the Cajun salmon, because it's that good!! My husband had the ribeye special and it was good as well. The quality of food, service, and view all culminate into a solid 5 for me. This also includes the price point on food and bar. I had the blackened grouper dusted in cajun spices. It was excellent. Yes, they overcooked my filet mignon to medium-well, however, this is one of the best Italian restaurants in all of Pittsburgh. It was a party of 10 of us, I tasted everything. We have now had the margherita pizza twice - I thought the first time we had it that it must be a fluke, you can't get that quality of pizza in this area. Asti's hosted a private customer appreciation event with my colleagues in association with the AISTech downtown. Though it was a little bit of a trip to get there, it was definitely worth the trip! We were a large group ordering off of their normal menu, and everything was cooked perfectly to order, presented beautifully and correctly timed. The service was professional but casual - I felt like I was "home". Highly recommend the steaks (I had the Ribeye), and the pasta (rave reviews for the lasagna and gnocchi) Asti's is a little out of the way in North Braddock, but a great destination for a special event or a casual fine dining experience. On my 2nd visit we returned with friends. The chicken parmagiana was lightly breaded, tender and juicy on a bed of pasta. Comments on chef Asti's marinara sauce include fresh tomatoes, definitely homemade and best-ever. Calamari starter was also tender and fresh. An adjoining table ordered pizza - I'll have that soon!
