Nice little restaurant located in the Delta South -Edmonton. We only had breakfast, so I can't speak for the lunch/dinner menu. What I will say is that the breakfast here was much better than the standard Marriott buffet that you get at most Marriott/Delta properties. I had an egg white omelette which was quite delicious. My wife had the standard breakfast with poached eggs, everything was cooked properly. Serve staff was friendly and efficient and had us in and out within 40 minutes. read more

This place is now called 4404, although it doesn't show up on Yelp. This is a classy establishment, it has been recently renovated so everything is still brand new and the decor is very nice. It is inside the Delta Hotel South. I come here occasionally for breakfast. I used to come here for dinner too, but they removed the exact 2 dishes I used to love from the menu, so I find their dinner menu limited and nothing extraordinary. I could eat breakfast 3 times a day, it is my favorite meal of the day. I am not overly adventurous and always order the exact same thing: 2 poached eggs, toast and hash browns, and SUPER crispy bacon, slightly burned, (not bendable). With other places, I don't know how many times I have to send the bacon back because it comes to me chewy and gewy and I can't eat it. What part of super crispy do cooks not understand? Floppy bacon is NOT crispy! Anyways, this place always seems to get it right and always serves a decent portion of 3 slices, and they are larger slices that are good quality - not the dinky slim cheap pieces that some breakfast places serve. So this is a big deciding factor for me when it comes to breakfast places. Also, they are the only place I know that doesn't serve brown water disguised as "coffee". They serve Starbucks bold blend in a thermos at every table, so that you don't have to wait for a waiter/waitress to fill it up for you. You fill up as much as you want, and the coffee is bottomless. I know Starbucks is not the top end of coffee (if you know anything about coffee) but it is better than any restaurant in town that serves brown water which I cannot drink. Coming from Europe, I need my coffee to be tasteful and rich. The breakfast I described above with coffee comes to about $13 with tip. It is a good price compared to dives like Humpty's and Denny's and you get good service. read more

44o4 is a recently-renovated restaurant inside the Delta Hotel South (though has its own entrance from outside). The interior looks classy, modern, and comfortable, certainly good as a first impression. However, I found the food and service to be lacking. The restaurant was almost empty just after 7pm or so, and everyone there had been seated in a corner far away from the kitchen. Looking out at a bunch of empty tables between us and the kitchen was a little awkward, particularly when watching our waiter climb the stairs and weave among empty tables just to get to us. Service felt slow despite there being 2 servers waiting on no more than 6 tables. I observed some people waiting at least 15-20 minutes for their bill as well, as it was difficult to flag down a server from the secluded corner we were all seated in. We had to wait about 10 minutes to be asked for our drink orders, at which point we ordered all our food as well. We were warned they were very busy tonight (perhaps a function inside the hotel? The restaurant was certainly not busy) and the food might be a bit slow getting out. Drinks came about 10 minutes later. My beer wasn't cold and didn't come with a glass, which didn't mesh with the atmosphere of the restaurant. Despite the warning of how busy they were, our food came fairly quickly. While our appetizers were decent, my main course caesar salad with grilled chicken was disappointing. The lettuce was about half green, half yellow, with the green being limp. It was overdressed, had too much cheese, and was far too salty. It was topped with crispy duck bacon, which I found to taste horrible and make the salty situation worse. It came with a thin strip of garlic bread which was soaked with butter and didn't seem very fresh. The small grilled chicken breast (a $5 addition to the salad) was bland and dry. The menu had no discernible theme, containing everything from steak to stir fry to Indian food, and nothing stood out as being particularly enticing. I may go back to try something else, but it wasn't a good first impression. read more

Went for Sunday brunch. The brunch buffet was well-stocked and had some great selections, but also some let-downs. For example, their website promises a "chef-attended omelette station" -- there was no such thing. When it came to service, the only word that works is *SLOW*. When seated, it took a good 5-10 minutes before the waitress came by to ask about drinks and invite us to head to the buffet. During the meal (about an hour), we were checked on twice and the waitress wasn't even hanging around in the area so we could ask for service (like an ice water). This is certainly NOT the high-end restaurant I expected from reviews and advertising. It's barely a step above your typical diner... except for the prices. Given the meal and the price, I'd head to Cora any day, rather than pay the exorbitant prices at 4404. read more

Very slow food (waited over an hour for 3 entrees). One entree was missing half of what was supposed to be on the burger and the salad was missing everything including dressing. It took asking 2 separate people 4 times to get the toppings and dressing for the salad. (Which we got as we left) The Ruben sandwich was dry and not every good. But the fries were excellent. The mushroom ravioli was delicious but the dish as a whole was confused, tossed in pesto and served on marinara sauce??? What was worse was the table next to us who ordered before us and never got their food. I would not recommend this place to anyone and I will not be going back. read more

4404 Restaurant is one of my favourites. With my job I find myself on the road a lot and when I am in Edmonton I always stay at the Delta for many reason and this restaurant is one of them. The service is always great no matter which server you get (Mel is the best). The food is always good no matter if your eating Breakfast or Dinner. A hotel restaraunt that's a small cut above similar offerings. Trying to be trendy. Clean & modern. Have partaken in both their "famous" brunch buffet, and a Valentines dinner. Food was respectable. Prices comparable. Service solid. In a city with so much to offer however, for us, 4404 has probably recieved all the buisness it can from us. Still so many other unique place to try. read more

Menu is a bit all over the place, but the quality and taste of food is great. My wife had a butter chicken which was great the rice a little mushy but still a great meal. Excellent Mother's Day brunch. Great service from the entire staff and a nice bright restaurant. The Starbucks coffee at the table and the to go cup they bring at the end was a nice touch. The only thing negative was that I seen them handing out roses to all the moms but my wife never got one. We made the reservation at 830 to arrive at 1030. Usually everywhere you call say their full. Wanting to try a new place to eat lunch. I can't remember our waiter's name. A very nice older Filipino man. He was great. We ordered a chicken club, was barely ok. The "chef's creation" was dry rye bread with a few slices of smoked meat. NO pickle on the side. Would NOT recommend this restaurant. read more

My husband and I came for dinner here last night and were quite impressed. We both had drinks, appetizers, entrees, and I had a dessert. The service was quite good and our server was very attentive. The food itself was delicious, although my husband said his ribs could have been just a bit more tender. My chicken, on the other hand, was incredibly flavourful and well-prepared. I did regret ordering dessert, as the chocolate pate was not what I expected. I expected a small portion of something dense, smooth, and rich. What I got was something that was lighter and fluffier - almost like it had gelatin mixed in. I would definitely not order this again. Aside from that, though, the meal was very enjoyable. Our only other recommendation would be to have the lights dimmed during the dinner hours. They were turned right up, which gave the feeling less of an intimate atmosphere and more that of a cafeteria. This is fine for breakfast and lunch, but not so much for dinner. Oh well! Took my Mom there for her 94th birthday breakfast and all was top notch. The staff were professional, attentive and kind and the food was excellent. I have had good business lunches here and am glad I chose the Delta fir this special occasion read more
