    a basket of fried food

The food here is incredible! While the inside seating space is quite compact, summertime out on the patio looks relaxing and chill. Being mindful that if you don't make a reservation you will most likely end up at the bar seating, and there isn't much of that either! We came on a Thursday night and it was ultra packed! Definitely definitely call and book a reservation. Staff checked up on us frequently, most likely cause we were seated at the bar, but could tell that it was challenging to get to the far back end of the restaurant. Food wise! Since I've already said the food is incredible need I say more!? Of course! We ordered the much raved about corn fritters to start and not only are they perfectly hot and fluffy with a delightful crisp outside, but the side sauces make these worth ordering! A spicy almost salsa flavoured ketchup or a sweet gosh raspberry sauce? So hard to decide! Both so good! For entrees our group had the: Schnitzel: a boiled cabbage side, along with little potatoes and a thin gravy to go with it. The schnitzel was excellent and so crispy good! Blackened Chicken: a party in your mouth flavourful mashed potatoes, juicy blackened chicken, topped with a colourful cabbage salad. The flavours were incredibly done and complimented each other in a way like no other! I would come back here and order this for sure! Sesame Chicken: tasty little wonton bits, a beautiful array of fresh greens, and a pleasant sesame sauce. This salad was so refreshing and a big portion! We also tried the rose cocktail which was sweet and well enjoyed by us all. Now for the kicker! Bathrooms are lovely, and is there a baby change table? Umm sort of, there is a nice cabinet that's the right height to use though!

Some parking right in front of the restaurant otherwise it's street parking in the residential area. We got there 6pm on a Thursday and place was full and we were told we can only sit at the bar on bar stools. So we did! Waiter was super rushed and frantic looking but took such good care of us. Constantly checking in, bringing food as soon as order was ready, making sure we had water. Great service. Place got pretty loud by 7pm and quite cramped but we should have made reservations (so as not be to cramped eating at the bar)! Schnitzel was 10/10. Cooked so crispy, cabbage was well cooked, potatoes were well cooked, tiny bowl of gravy could have been bigger but overall great food. Mother got the blackened chicken and gave it 10/10. Sister got the sesame chicken and said it was great too but next time will get the blackened chicken. Rose smash cocktail was very light and fruity. Overall 100% would recommend this place

    Daily special - meatloaf

Tucked away in the middle of a residential area and just a set over from the U of A hospital is this adorable little bistro with a gorgeous interior and a big comfy patio. Prices are average to high. We tried the spinach dip ($12+$2 for extra chips) and I wanted both more dip and chips (or even pitas) for the price. The steak sandwich ($26) was well cooked and the chimmichurri was tasty, but high compare to other steak sandwiches we've had. It came with fries but maybe onions & mushrooms would go well here. Lastly, the daily special, meatloaf ($24) was really yummy but the portion of meatloaf itself was small for the price. Food quality was good, but there was a bit of a wait for our food. It's a beautiful space & a place where I would feel completely comfortable coming on my own for a drink - we saw quite a few tables of solo diners!

Amazing community gem. The Belgravia Hub has been around for a while, and through those years they never disappoint. Whether it's delicious, fresh sandwiches for lunch or their more substantial dinner time menu, their dishes are always well thought out, they always use the freshest ingredients, and the quality is always consistent. Went for dinner on their patio (which they did a great job setting up over the last year and a bit). I ordered the blackened chicken, my wife ordered the steak sandwich, and my son ordered the chicken tenders. Everything was so delicious. Steak was very tender and flavourful, chicken was perfectly seasoned on top of a bed of delicious garlic mash...even my kid's chicken tenders were great (made in house, crunchy batter and home made plum sauce and ketchup too!). We shared the peaches and cream creme brûlée (flavours change) and it was SO good. Loved the hint of almonds.

I have mobility issues and I was very thankful it was nice outside and we could sit on the patio as much as the hard benches were. I would not recommend this place if you have issues with stairs. A small but mighty menu mostly focusing on veg options. Which I actually like but I wouldn't bring my meatatarian husband here. Luckily I was there with my friend and not my husband and we decided to split a bunch of things. We tried the fried foccacia with hummus, the tom yum garlic scapes, the braised lentils and the dark chocolate tahini truffles. Our favourites were the hummus, thick and creamy and paired well with the fluffy foccacia. Also the dessert the tahini truffles were really unique and delicous. Everything else was fine but I probably wouldn't order it again. Server was friendly and knowledgeable.

The hardest part of dining here is trying to find parking because there is very little parking available, even if you are willing to pay for it. Once that obstacle is behind you the restaurant is a treat. We ordered two dishes to share between the two of us. Three might have been best if you don't want dessert, but we did so two dishes were fine. The first was the sweet potatoe mochi. It was quite tasty and suitable for small appetites. Next they brought out the coconut Thai red curry brisket. It was tasty and filling but the beef tasted overcooked (or old). For dessert we ordered the sticky date cake which was rich and tasty. The off menu special was the pear bread pudding with chocolate mousse. It was nice and light making it the best dessert. This was a great evening and the service was top notch. I recommend Little Wolf to anyone who wants a fine evening out.

We were there during a hockey playoff game so it was a lot of fun. My only issue with this restaurant is the lack of parking space. This is one of the main reasons we don't eat here regularly. Overall, I still give this place a 4.5/5 stars.

I jumped on the chance because I love the pizzas here. They have a soft doughy crust. So we ventured here for lunch. It wasn't too full, and it took a while for someone to notice and get us seated. We actually debated leaving, however finally they seated us, it was all good. (Hence why it looses a star). Atmosphere is pretty typical for a craft brewery. I am not a huge sports bar fan, and I was pleased to see that TVs were not a focus here. Menu is good. Lots of different things to try, but they are well known for their pizzas. Great selection of beers. Also an okay selection of cocktails and wine. I am on medication, so I tried a "near beer" can that they offered and I was pleased with the flavour. I wish they would have a non alcoholic that is more local on tap. Hubby because of driving went with a coke. We decided on two pizzas - PB & J which contained roasted pineapple, smoked bacon, fresh jalapeño, mozzarella, brick blend and the Animal Style -Ezzo pepperoni, seasoned beef, bacon, pizza sauce, crushed chilis, Grana Padano. Both came out hot and fresh and tasty. I enjoyed my toppings better, however my husband's pizza sauce was absolutely perfect. Service (once we were seated) was pleasant. We received some chocolate dipped strawberries as a customer appreciation gift and that was lovely. My goal is to try all the pizzas. Give it a go if you like Detroit style pizzas.

I started the meal with the Don Vito cocktail, a spirit forward sweet concoction of Cognac, Bourbon and Limoncello. Immediately felt like it set the perfect tone for dinner. The tasting menu started with four appetizers, the Arancini, Goat Ricotta Crostini, Insalata Siciliana and the Culatello. My favorite was the arancini as it was packed full of melty cheese with so much flavor. The culatello was a crowd favorite and the crostini was a great palate cleanser. For secondi we had the Truffle Gnudi and Paccheri. For people who like meaty flavors go with the paccheri, but I liked the light cheese and truffle of the gnudi. By the time the Pollo Al Mattone came around, I could only manage a mouthful of the succulent brick chicken and the fresh cabbage salad as I was so full and would need to be rolled out of the restaurant. We ended with the Chocolate Budino, which was dark, creamy and delicious. A great tasting menu at a great price, especially compared to Toronto prices!
