Beautiful skatepark. Unfortunately there are no posted rules so you get the following:…read more 1.) dogs running loose with their owners 2.) parents allowing their kids (under the age of 10) free roam the advanced section like it's a playground 3.) people using motorized wheels in the park (for example one wheels) Until the city steps in and does something the park is basically un-skateable unless you go early in the morning (8 AM) or late at night (10 PM). Parents reading these reviews... I cannot stress this enough. This is NOT a playground. This is an advanced course for extreme wheel sports. This is not the place to let your 6 year old roll around on their new $20 3-wheeled scooter that is not intended to be used at a skatepark. Until your kids learn how to share, understand the flow of traffic, and have proper equipment... this is not the place to bring them. Take them to a smaller skatepark with less traffic and less advanced obstacles, teach them flow of traffic and the concept of turn based runs. It's only a matter of time until a child gets seriously hurt at this skate park due to irresponsible parents and an innocent, responsible individual enjoying the park gets sued because of it.

The park is nearly two miles away from downtown garland but not far away the heart of the garland folks. Now this is my first time at a skating park and I was not disappointed. Sure there were some lack of rules but it surely didn't change my nor my nephews experience of having a great time. Let alone it was more of a learning pleasure to have taught him the rights and wrongs of a skate park. Remember y'all a skate park isn't just rainbows and sunshine, if you seen any televised stories about them chances are its almost true. Don't be startled by the fear of discomfort, remember everyone there is looking for the same thing, a place to belong. I hope this review finds pleasure in any who wanted is or wanting to check it out.

Armstrong Park & Kidsville is a landmark of the Duncanville area. Located at the intersection of…read moreMain Street and Wheatland Road, it is within walking distance for many residential areas. It sits adjacent to the Duncanville Police Department, the Duncanville Community Center, and the Duncanville Public Libarary. It's very public space makes it a safe and friendly area to visit for individuals, kids, and families. One of the most notable aspects of Armstrong Park is Kidsville, a playground built to look like a miniature village, complete with some short (two story) towers, a bridge or two, and plenty of platforms and other structures, all made of wood, with paved streets winding in between many of the structures. It also offers more traditional playground features such as slides, swings, and monkey bars. It's a wonderful place for kids to play, and indeed, parents may want to join their kids in a game of tag or hide and seek. In addition to Kidsville there are large sections of open grass that are good for playing Frisbee, or soccer, or having a picnic, though the covered picnic area with tables might be more suitable for that. There is also a gazebo, over 3/4 miles of walking track, two tennis courts, and plenty of benches. I have visited Kidsville dozens of times as a child, and as an adult. It's a great "hang out" spot in the evening for teenagers and young adults when there's nothing to do and they want to get out of the house. It's a good place for anyone to take walks. There used to be a swimming pool, but it was shut down and demolished a few years ago. Many events are hosted at Armstrong Park, including the annual Independence Day fireworks celebrations. A lot of it may be sentimental, but I really love Armstrong Park & Kidsville. If you live in the Duncanville, Cedar Hill, South Dallas area, you might consider visiting. Your kids are bound to have a good time.
