Absolutely gorgeous, clean and relaxing. Although they have a large field for sports, I haven't seen any. It seems like a more relaxed atmosphere. However the 2 tennis courts have always been in use. Beautiful walking paths. I really like this park for adults and kids.

Great park with nice trails to walk or jog through. I enjoy walking and hearing the songbirds chirp during my lunch hour.

Nice park, clean and safe. Walked my dog there and she loved it. Plenty of trash cans and pet disposal cans. The bridge was cool.

Went there once, disappointed to see dog poop on the kids play apparatus, on steps to tunnel slide. Have never returned. Kinda gross.

There's a bridge there's some hiking area there's some asphalt for a riding little tricycles for scooters. They have water fountain picnic tables and even a barbecue. What they didn't do was shade the bench areas. There's no place to sit in the shade if you can't slide on the slides. Trying to watch my granddaughter play but I would have to walk too far away to get shade so that's going to stop me from coming on warm days. There are a few walkers out here. So it's a good place to walk for your health. I'm thinking my daughter will bring the grandkids out here. But I'll only come if it's fairly cool outside.

Tons of big gorgeous trees and plenty plush, green lawns for frolicking, a little babbling stream with a walking trail bridge that goes over it. Like a storybook, for real. Rickel Park has 1.5 miles of walking and jogging trails, a picnic area with tables, a couple pavilions, and a great playground that's relatively shaded. There's nothing particularly novel or modern going on here, but this park actually transports you out of suburbia for a second and into the woods. Especially if it's not too crowded. With the right weather it's honestly so peaceful and enjoyable and feels like you're on a little trip. Bring a picnic and play and hike and enjoy.

Today we were in town and had a few minute to spare for outdoor time, so we stopped by! This park is so beautiful, we love walking to the pier and watching the tadpoles and fish swimming around. There's a long walking trail which we didn't get to walk all the way down today but we will have to make time for it. You can't go wrong no matter who he path you take, you will find picturesque scenes everywhere. In fact, there was a photo shoot taking place today while we were there. Relaxing pre-lunch outing, I'm sure we will be back again.

The trails…read morefrom McCormick Park connect to those at Bob Eden (and Bear Creek) but this stretch of the trail is shadier and much more lush in foliage. It's a perfect walk for a hot summer morning. The park also boasts a pond with fishing pier and a very sweet little bird watching area, a nice gazebo, and a small (but fun) playground. The playground is FULLY SHADED by the mature trees surrounding it. The only negatives to McCormick park, so far as I can tell, are the absence of both a bathroom and clear trail maps. There is one map that gives an overview of how the main trail connects to the different parks, but I think there ought to be a more detailed trail map at every fork in the trail. And not having bathrooms is a serious drawback for people with kids. I pushed my luck too long this morning and my 2 year old peed her pants. Parks need bathrooms!

Out of the four that piqued my interest, this one was first on the list. Looks like there were other trails branching off from the main one, but I stuck with the main walking path. There were benches and informational signs scattered along the route. All of them worthwhile in reading. Unfortunately, I was saddened by how much litter I found. The best thing about Arlington is all the trees and hills. North Texas is mostly flat and DFW isn't known for its foliage, but there's quite a few spots in Arlington that really feel "far away." There's true hills and canyons and forests and creeks. You can be in the center of the metroplex and still feel lost in the woods. Crystal Canyon is such a spot. This park is so pretty. I appreciate all the little signs that explain the trail and history of the area. Crystal Canyon gets its name from all the crystals (gypsum) to be found in the vicinity, particularly the creek. There's a few beautiful bridges and benches. The hike is fairly short but super scenic and enjoyable.
