This food is so flavorful and delicious. They didn't have any empanadas fried, so the girls working there friend some for me upon request. Great food and friendly service!

    Spanish food hmm

Located at the corner of 4th and Penn St in Reading, PA. Easy to find, sometimes parking is hard to locate, but it's will worth it. It's is an old building and it shows, but the people are friendly and the food is great! Got the Spanish rice and loved it. They have a good selection to pick from for lunch and dinner; they can have you in and fast for lunch. I got takeout from the ready made selection, still very hot and fresh. I also got Ribs, I'm not a fan of bone in ribs, and I loved them. They do take cash or credit. They also have delivery service available. The other guest I was with got Pork with Spanish rice which they just loved.

Good food but don't plan to stay. The eating quarters are kind of smelly, need alot of work, cleaning and updating. Take your food to go.

I love coming to this restaurant. But this time traveling to Lancaster, I was sad to find out that…read morethey relocated to another spot not too far away from the old location. LOCATION: This new location sits on the second floor of a building. Steps are pretty narrow, so I can't imagine the elderly being able to climb a flight and a half of steps to enjoy such delicacies. So the new location is absolutely beautiful and more fancy than their old location. I love the ambiance. I went there on a Saturday at approximately 4:00 p.m. and there was Zero clientele. It seems like this place may have lost a lot of customers due to the location being on the second floor, but I could be wrong. I'll be honest, very clean, well lit with many slits of skyline above. I love the decor it still reminds me of Old San Juan, along with the Spanish music playing in the background. FOOD: amazing as always, even though I was struggling because they removed one of my favorite dishes from the menu, which was ropa Vieja. You get a lot of food on your plate, and all of the dishes are very flavorful and cook to order. CUSTOMER SERVICE: I love how attentive the staff were even though we were the only ones in the place. The waitress is very knowledgeable about the dishes and extremely accommodating. I wanted something simple to drink like a lemonade, and they made me some from scratch, so I was so thankful. I would definitely recommend coming to this place if you're looking for authentic San Juan dishes

Monfongo, bifongo, trifongo . . . Since it was our first time in, we tried a lot of different items. The Monfongo with chicharones de pollo was excellent. The pastillilo de carne was good. The papas locas (with carne) was really good. It was so big, we couldn't finish it. We ordered it for an appetizer but it really could be an entree. The arroz con gondules was good. It could have had a little more flavor, but it was fine. I ordered a side of the trifongo since only the monfongo came with the entrees. I really liked their trifongo. Hubby got the pina colada frappe and it was very good, very fresh. Definitely a good place to visit. Street parking. Service was a little scattered and it took a lot longer for our food than expected. Lots of families and lots of people taking out, in addition to almost packed tables. Go, enjoy the Boricua food and feel like you're on an island. :)

Everything good I want to say about this place would be an understatement! My boyfriend (he's Chilean) and I came in starving and by simply smelling the food we knew we're in for the real deal. We ordered a beef empanada, a green plantain tamale, and baked chicken and roasted pork with yellow rice and beans. The meat was moist, perfectly spiced, and so dang delicious! The pork skin was perfectly crisp with a juicy layer of fat underneath. We also got flan and tres leches. Tres leches is my favorite but I didn't even know I like flan. My boyfriend loved the mango juice!!! Finally just blended mangoes and not some store bought juice made from a concentrate. What makes this place even better is the Spanish music and a welcoming owner who chatted with all customers. The entire restaurant got into a conversation at some point too! This is something you rarely find in the US - the feeling of being truly welcomed. We really enjoyed talking to William. I haven't had such a great meal since Christmas when I went back home to Croatia for the holidays. I am already looking forward to stopping here in a month on my way back from a conference.
